is it a bad idea to walk across country (minnesota to california) with a freind, and having about 2 ounces on us for the trip???
im walking summers 2 passed...and im not completely sure i should bring pot with...it would be great to have pot...but its not exactly the smartest thing to do...what do the gods of cannabis.com think on the subject of taking two ounces across the border of from minnesota to california...im really not sure man...its risky...what do you think?
Just don't tell them you have weed at the border.

In 1973 Peter Jenkins sets off to discover America by hiking from New York to the Gulf of Mexico. Jenkins is part of a disillusioned generation fed up with the war in Vietnam, assassinations, social injustice, greedy corporations, and pollution. Recently divorced and newly graduated from Alfred College in New York State, he sets out with on his quest with his dog Cooper, a large mixed Malamute. Hoping to find something better about the country he lives in, Jenkins takes the advise of a professor by arranging to photograph and document his journey on foot for The National Geographic Society. He started training months prior to his walk and felt good about his chances of succeeding.
He walks from New York through Pennsylvania to Washington, DC where he is outfitted with his photography gear at NGS. He is stunned by the warmth and thoughtfulness he experiences at every turn of the road. When Cooper has unwisely attacked a porcupine and comes out of the scrap with dozens of painful quills about the face, it is a nameless stranger driving by who stops spends more than a half hour extracting the potentially lethal barbs from the tranquillized pet. Jenkins is offered handouts of food, housing, and money to help him along the way. He encounters a true mountain man named Homer Davenport who warms to Jenkins companionship and offers to let him take over ownership of his humble dwelling and land.
Walking in all weather enduring bitter numbing cold and energy sapping heat and humidity, the pair of best friends trek southward, moving from one small hamlet to another. In one unfriendly town in North Carolina he is suspected of being a drug dealer and is run out of town. Later, by chance, he winds up living with a loving and gracious black family named Oliver, headed by the fiery-willed mother Mary Elizabeth, staying in their clean but cramped trailer. He finds work at a local mill to save enough money to continue his walk to the Gulf. Along the way he learns a lot about the country, the people, and himself before eventually reaching the Gulf of Mexico at New Orleans. Changed by his experience, Jenkins holds a high regard and a newfound respect for the generous and friendly people he encountered living and working in the small towns that make up America. In short his lost faith has been restored.

Sounds like an awsome journey. Something you will have so many experiences on. I wish I had done something like that when I was younger. Unless you get assraped in a ditch youll likely never regret it.

go here http://norml.com/ and check out the states laws that you are driving through and see whats the minimum u can take w/o having it being a felony, im sure its around 46 grams which 2 ounces is 56.

What do you think the cops are going to see two guys walking with bags, and somehow figure out they have weed in them? I don't think you would have a problem. But I also don't think you're going to walk across the US.

Why don't you just ask a minor to walk for you? The charges for a minor is so little, just hire a kid from the HS, don't tell him/her your name, and pay him/her like $200/lb he/she carries... lol

Except for California, the only thing you'll see at the "borders" is a "Welcome to..." sign. There isn't any customs or body cavity searches when you go from Nebraska to Colorado. Depending on where you enter Cali, however, there are agricultural checkpoints because they don't want you bringing in any plant material. All this will be is some guy saying "do you have any fruits, vegs, or plants" and as long as you don't say you've got a couple of ounces he'll wave you through. Your biggest concern will be some backwater hick cop with nothing better to do than to hassle some strangers in town. Just be cool though and you shouldn't have any problems.

do it man, they will have no reason to search you. keep everything else legit, don't do anything stupid, and no cop will ever have reasonal suspicion to even talk to you, let alone probable cause to search you. if one crosses the line and does it illegally, clam up, say nothing until you have an attorny , and pleade they violated your constitutional rights ;)

Im guessing if you enter from Northern California you won't have much of a problem at all, but if you enter near the south the border patrol gets a lot of Mexicans trying to transport brick weed and they'll be better trained to spot it.

ive got a peak stove, buying a one-man tent (smaller to carry), ive got a nice mummy sleeping bag (i have lots more, i go camping often, but am going to have my mother ship all of my stuff to me when i get an apartment, so then i dont have to carry everything, or go back)...Quote:
