Absinthe - whose tried it?

For some reason I am intent on ordering a bottle of Absinthe from eAbsinth.com. It just looks very...intriguing. And I mean it sounds like it's no worse than other alcoholic beverages. They have ones from Spain, Switzerland, France, The Czech Republic, and other countries. What are your experiences with this drink?

theres lots of absinthe around, but not much 'real', ie hallucinagenic, absinthe.
from the options above, czech republic sounds good as i have bought the real stuff there before

ive never don e the real, old skool shit.....but i did try some red absinthe that was just extremely strong alcohol....not really very nice.....bit weird.....lol and very strong.

I usually buy my absinthe in Portugal or in Czech.
I perfer more the Portugese Absinthe over the Czech Absinthe.
Though the Czech's Absinthe is also very good.

Well in case you haven't realized yet I was looking at the site http://www.eabsinthe.com/ which is advertised on these boards. I'm looking mainly at the spanish "Deva" 100 proof, the Swiss "La Clandéstine" 106 proof, the French "Versinthe La Blanche" 114 proof, or perhaps the Czech "Reality" 120 proof. I'm mainly going by the ratings on the site, which suggst that those 4 are among the better ones. I just want to make sure that what I order actually has real absinthium effects or whatever it's called and won't just make me really drunk.

My nan bought me La Fee absinthe for Christmas last year, but I don't really drink that much, so most of it's been had by friends.

What is the taste like?

I've always wanted to try it since seeing Eurotrip. My friends and I have thought about ordering some online.

Make sure you get one which contains thujone as so far as I know this is the halucinogen, most of the ones on the site so far as I can see are just strong drinks.

ive tried it before, it tastes terrible, i dont think i could sit there and drink that shit. i was in a different country, so i got some hash instead.

absinthe is very good with red bull 1 shot absinthe 1 can red bull on the rocks. it called a double upper.:rasta:

Drinking it for the effects? I was told to use a spoonful of sugar and light it on fire with alittle absinthes in it, then drop it into the absinthe, wait a few seconds then drink it. The heat suppose to change some of the properties, causing the hallucinagenic effects. Otherwise its just like drinking any other alcohol. it worked for me. Anyone else heard of this or tried it?

I've had a sip of Absinthe..but I'm pretty sure what we had wasn't hallucinagenic. Awful taste, couldn't stomach it.

commercal absinth isnt hallucinagenic, there isnt enough wormwood used in it. I dont like buying it off the internet, to weak, my nearest department store sell 95% stuf, abosolutely lethal :D

i got mine from ibiza its from chezh its 100% SO GOOD :D

Also if u drink it u must prepare it (burn it) the right way (with sugar)
