do you have a trader joe's near you? they can help you out. they have good wine for cheap money, and my parents are wine connesuiers and whatnot and they love that fucking place.

buy OUR wine! Playhouse Vinyards Cabernet Sauvignon. you can buy it at Trader Joe's around the northwest at around $25 a bottle.
I'm a fan of the Chateau Ste. Michelle vineyards in Washington State. I don't think I've ever had a bad bottle from them, white or red. And usually under $20.Quote:

Just kidding--a mid-priced chianti is good for short term drinking (next few years), but if you're looking for a bottle to put away for a while, check out some of the upper end Bordeaux.
Trader Joe's people, and people at most high-end liquor stores can help out. You have to know what your parents are into-- red or white, sweet or dry, light or rich, etc.
Simi, Kenwood, Rodney Strong, Hess Select, Clos du Bois are all excellent Californiaâ??s. I'm partial to Rodney Strong but be ready to shell out $40+. Also stick with a Pinot Noir or a Cab. Rule of thumb when it comes to California wines is always by a wine made with Sonoma (Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley) grapes. Screw Napa.
Yellow Tail. It tastes good, it's reliable, found almost everywhere.. and it's cheap. It's a white wine, hint of sour.
i tend to drink cheap, nasty, and warm wines...
Red wines and many white wines should never be chilled... Cabs and Pinots should always be at room temp and you should open the bottle several hours before you are going to drink it. I know people that open all their wine bottles up at 10 AM and let them breathe all day for a party at 7pm. You would be surprised how much better even cheap wine will taste when allowed to breathe properly.Quote:

i'm considering spending $60, but i'm guessing that they like white wine a bit more. I just want something that will make there holiday really enjoyable, something that tastes good. My parents arn't into alcahol really, but i'm sure they'd enjoy a nice bottle of wine ( they have in the past )

The rodney strong "Alexander's Crown" is only $30. Wine prices have come down a little in the last couple of years and that is a very good price. I dont recomend the "Sonoma County" though which is like 10 bucks cheaper. I dont know why but I really dont like it. The difference in the two is night and day and well worth the extra $10.Quote:
