Music Quiz for us old farts...youngster can guess too.

This artist dates back to the early 60's but probably had his biggist sales with this early 70's (I'm going to say 73 or 74 but not positive on the year it was released) album (not CD...album as in vinyl...a double live album in fact)
More of a pop or top 40 artist but this particular album was pretty good.
(I liked it anyway) He was an even more prolific writer and a lot of people have covered his tunes. Anyway, the album was recorded at the Greek Theatre in LA.
And on the cover, he looked like he was holding his unit. Name the album and the artist.

Being an amateur musiscan, I try to be open to most styles of music although I have to say that hip hop
does little for me...and country, if you can call it that nowdays.
