Being self-concious (story inside)

I realize that in our world today, no one is perfect. There has been something about myself that I believe has basically ruined my life.

I have red hair. Now this may not seem to be a big issue to some people out there but it fucking kills me. I've always had a bunch of friends who don't seem to care about it at all. I always think that people are staring at me because of my hair, some people even don't like me because of it.

I could b.s. and say something about pot, but the real reason that I honestly starting smoking weed was because of my hair. I probably think about it 80% of my free time. My whole life is engulfed in it, it needs to stop, I am 17 years old. Now I have no idea why I decided to post this here, but I want your honest opinion on what you think I should do, bc the way I see it I'm stuck. Thanks for your time, it would mean alot to me if I got some serious posts back.

when your around people and you feel this way try to crack a joke about it... it will help alot..

and i know how it is when you can stop thinking.....just begin observing. dont think observe, look at everything around you and everything around everything just look, soon you wont be thinking

Just start working out and get your body in shape, thatll help your self esteem.

Red hair is awesome. Don't be ashamed of that. Be proud that you've got something that most people don't have. Get it styled the way YOU want it, whether it be long or short.
With self-confidence, you can have a good life. That's very important. Self-confidence and esteem. And remember, anyone who laughs at your hair color has to go home and live with themselves. You only have to deal with them for the moment. There are idiots everywhere.

This does mean a lot to me even if it may not seem the case. Im going to try and build up my confidence from the nothing it is now, and who knows it may be easy. I am just going to try and forget about hair color.

hey, you think red hair is bad? I'm cursed with the dreaded hairy nipples. very little around my whole chest, just on the nipples, so EVERY FUCKING TIME I go in a hot tub, a beach, or anywhere shirtless I suddenly become the main topic of conversation and teasing from everybody. now I just avoid all shirtless social occasions entirely so I don't have to put up with it. fuck I'm sick of that shit.

a good friend of mine dated the hottest red head i have ever seen. dont even fret about ur hair color. its so not important hun! whats important is u just being happy with yourself. regardless of your outside appearance

I have a friend Nate hon this kid changes his clothes 5 times nightly lol lk we will be voer tehre smokign jsut us guys and hes lk u guys think this aht looks good imna change it and go change it then change back and put somthign diff on lol. Ne ways i personally think its weird, but lk i understand it beign 17 u have to look lk everyone else to fitt in highschool adn stuff I am 17 too (I mean 18). Ne ways this kid in our school pretty popular his name is Nick ,but everyone calls him torche cuz his red hair lol. Like not to make fun of him,but torche soudns cool i wish i had a nickname lk Cool Kid instead im the fuckign retard who comes in to school 15 minutes late ripped out of his mind and gets expelled lol. See red hair isnt soooo bad if ne thing its pretty cool just accept it and have self confidence cuz dude if ur confident no one can touch u or make u feel bad no matter how u look.

you are still young (not trying to sound conceited, we are both in fact similar ages) and your hair will turn less red. Im guessing you don't have just "kind-of" red hair? I knew some people with this amazing fire red hair. Well that died down as they grew older. I see pictures of them when they were younger and it was as red as a stop sign, but as they grew older it was more brown than red. So if it is a very bright shade im sure it will eventually cool down.

Also, for what it is worth in my 19 years of existance i have not heard one human laugh at the color of another humans hair. Well this excludes Dennis Rodman and stuff. But honestly, where i am from hair really isn't a big deal at all. I don't think im alone when i say that either, but hair is just hair- i mean its not your 'fault' you have red hair.

*edit* you said you have a friend named Nate with red hair? Is his last name "Schoviac" or something weird? I know a kid, same age, red hair, named that. Wouldn't be surprised if he picked up that nickname either.

man thats retarded, I would be insulted if some1 called me torche or carrot top if i was a redhead, just accept him/her as a person, dont call them names by their looks.

yeah one of my friends is redheaded...a real tough SOB so noone messes with him though... and from what Ive seen more people are likely to like you because of red hair not dislike you for it...Some chicks go crazy for red headed guys...and some red headed chicks are amazingly hot.

see it as I see it...Its you life. Dont let other peoples opinions ruin it. Dont go around feeling depressed. Youve only got one, so do what you can to enjoy it.

If you are subconcious, find some good smoking friends. I recently started smoking with a group of people from work and we have created a huge bond with eachother. Smoking buddies don't care about what eachothers look like :rasta: But of course that's not going to get to the root of your problem, you need to learn to like yourself.
