I have been smoking for 2 years and a bit, and i was wondering if weed, actually contains the same heart problems agents as ciggarettes do. Sometimes after i hit up a huge sess, my heart aches, its not like a sharp pian, but rather an ache, like you'd get in your stomach, any idea what could be causing this? Probably lack of oxygen circulating the the heart(oh wait, can't that turn into a heart attack?)
no it does not cause heart problems or contain the same carcinogens as cigarettes. Other than respitory damage from smoking, I think pot helps more things than it hurts.
BUT
It is possible that you may be allergic in some way, or may have gotten tainted pot.
Either way, I doubt you'll die from heart failure due to too much pot
lack of oxygen is likely the source of the ache, however, im pretty certian you get more oxygen in your lungs in a toke than a smoke.
plus if you already smoke cigerettes, then screw you! lol

carcinogens, yes, any time you inhale smoke you will have them... but it isn't that bad for you. if you live in a major metro area, you inhale about a pack and a half (cigs) equivalent in carcinogens daily... nicotine is the prime cancer causing agent... w/o the nicotine, your lungs just expel all that nasty shit with little to no adverse health effects, highly variant on the individual ... your lungs can handle that shit easily, this is why everyone in the city doesn't get lung cancer :twocents:

but heres an idea... your lungs absorb all the possible thc from a hit in under 10 seconds... if you hold it in any longer you aren't getting anything but o2 deprivation... so try holding your hits for no more than 5-10 seconds MAX, since thats all you need.. and see if it helps
if the pain persists and / or gets worse, then i would suggest a trip to the doctor asap or at the very least stop smoking and start vaporizing
Yes, indeed the weed does cause heart problems. Evertime i hear of one of my cannabis using brothers or sister having their lives turned upside down by a government that claims to be honest and honorable it breaks my heart.

but the only way cannabis can cause heart problems is if you have a pre-existing condition or have a very weak heart, it's effects are nearly the complete opposite of tobacco
I have had ( triple by pass ) and the doctors tell me to smoke the green and doing so I have come off of 10 pills a day to one a day and my green! just turned 66 this year...

if you already have a heart problem like high blood pressure, mitral valve prolapse etc... it can worsen the symptoms...
heart attacks happen when one has very high blood pressure over time, when this happens the arteies narrow and the heart stops because it is unable to recieve the oxygen it needs...
go to your doctor or to a cvs and check your blood pressure, i think this is what your feeling... do you get dizzy and or light headed? panics?
hate to say it but if you continue feeling this way after smoking you need to stop or slow down because weed effects everyone differently as well as mentally... your mind has alot of power over the rest of your body

fuck cancer anyway, when you die you die, the only drawback i get from weed is SCHIZOPHRENIA. My older brother was diagnosed with it when he was 17, thank fuck he sorted his head out after some treatment. It really fucks your head up, my brother use to randomly freak out if someone turned on the television, or the radio - he was so paranoid he thought everybody was talking about him behind his back & on the news etc.. He'd go to the neighbours house & accuse them of spying on him & by this time my parents were just freaking out - they had no idea hed been taking high doses of THC for 5/6 years. schizophrenia may show physical signs that it is there, but it is not induced by outside forces. your brother was previousely mentally unstable before he started smoking pot.

it doesnt matter how slim the chances are, if smoking is causing pain then something is not right. a slim chance is still a chance, and he should still go see a doctor, even if it ends up being nothing, that is the only way to know for sure.
I still say weed can't kill you. No one's died from it. I've checked online and read some articles on it. It can give you some breathing problems and alittle bit else but thats all. Nothing big

I had the same problem as redraindrop and turned out to be panic attacks.They called it phantom pains and they feel like your having a heart attack but your not its just in your head.Panic attacks are sometimes caused by a stressful or traumatic time in your life that catch up to you later and fuck with your head.What helped me through it is taking deep breaths,talking slow when reading something and ,believe it or not, dancing.Its not the weed its motherfucking dam panic attacks and boy do they suck.
I too had a panic attack. I was up in Yosemite's back country backpacking.
After walking a few hours over some of the killer granite domes that decorate the landscape i decided to sit and burn a bowl. Upon reaching for my dandy pipe i had realised that i had left it behind. I then checked for my rolling papers but i couldnt find them either. I fuckin panicked big time until i realized that the apple in my pack would make a fine pipe. I used that ol granny smith apple to make my pipe out of and then i ate it.

you know, every ten years or so our country and some other country start firing our newest weapons at one another. That's so weird, I get the same thing! (sometimes feels like a dull ache, sometimes like a pinch) I asked my doctor, who listened to my heart and told me not to worry about it, and my friend, who is a nurse, said that gastrointestinal problems can hurt in the heart area.
