Does anyone out there believe in reincarnation? I believe, personally that our soul extends into every generation into every space of time that human existed. That we were once people of every period of history. I believe that we reflect our previous live's in the life we currently are consumed with. Just a little bit of what i think.

I think that it's impossible, but it's a very deep thought.
If it was true then would this mean that we make the same friends as we did in other life times? Will I meet all my friends, unknowningly, in my next life? and for all my other lives?
I personally thought of this many times. That we are giving chances to be accepted into God's heaven. He sets us to earth and waits for us to become the best we can, either in this life or the next. By this eatch is Limbo. We are trapped until we are ready. I have long since changed my ideas of God, and I find that I have little faith in much of anything.

I believe that reincarnation is what happens sometime after death. Living a new (And most likely...) human life and learning a new set of things you need to learn and experiencing another life but with no recollection of your past one. (Well, not right away) I believe that when you go on to your next life, that it is just an extension to your many previous lives and that you will keep going foward through "lives" until you've learnt your lessons.
I believe that we are currently time traveling, and it's a more plausible theory than reincarnation.
You're right... we're all on the spacetime continuum so we're always time traveling, of course. But what happens after your death? You're just nothing? There isn't even a concept of nothing, so how could you be nothing? You continue in some way... you must... everything in this universe is in constant motion effecting other things... if you die and stop then everything stops. You're God!@1
If you believe in a spirit, your spirit continues to live. Otherwise, your soul is confined to your bones. If you don't believe in a soul, then an angel must save you, after your death. If you don't believe in angels, you have no choice. It's up to them whether you live or die. If you live, you'll gain spirit. If you die, maybe you go to purgatory. Maybe you cease to exist on any level. Maybe God will wake you up.

Reincarnation is a nonsense idea. If my "soul" is recycled into another human being, yet that person knows nothing of my life or who I am, what does it mean to say that that person is me? So far as I'm concerned, who I am is based on my experiences and memories, combined with the particular body I find myself inhabiting. Everything I have experienced has had an effect on me, and the sum of all those effects is my personality. A new person with my "soul" but none of my memories would form his own personality based on his own experiences, and would not be related to me in any identifiable way.
Then again, the very idea of a soul is also a nonsense idea. What does it mean to be immaterial? The only immaterial things I can think of are non-existent things. If something is immaterial, i.e. made of nothing, then it doesn't exist. I can't conceive of something that doesn't exist yet exists at the same time, like gods our souls which are supposedly not made of anything yet still somehow in the realm of existence.
If something is "supernatural", it is not part of the natural world, i.e. it cannot be observed or detected. All supernatural entities have no influence on the natural world, otherwise they would be part of the knowable and observable natural world. Souls are claimed to be immaterial and supernatural. How can they possibly affect our world then? How do they not influence physical reality in some measurable way to make our bodies act out our decisions, thereby including themselves in the realm of the natural? They would have to, logically speaking. And then they would not be supernatural entities anymore. They would be some sort of physical reality. A few hundred years ago pretty much everybody believed that the soul was indeed a physical reality, but they imagined it to be kind of a transparent ether-like substance. Now we know that they were partly right. The mind is a physical structure, but it manifests itself as the brain. The brain is your mind, and your mind is your brain. When your brain dies, so does your mind and your consciousness. Unless somebody revives your brain and puts it into a new body, reincarnation just isn't going to happen.
Don't worry folks, because reincarnation will be possible in the future using advanced technosynergic computers.
hmm i wrote that on a particularly rough patch of dxm induced delusion. I actually posted a few totally insane things around the spirituality board (including one that linked ancient temples to movies that somehow correlated to endtimes prophecy). Just a phase, i guess. I also believed i was an archangel. aha madness. see what happens when u read the bible on dxm? :oQuote:

Tradtional Hindu beliefs hold that that there are 24 different realms of reality in which different forms of life live in each, some exporting more souls while others importing. There's are also a small amount of buddhist sects that hold this belief, however I don't personally.Quote:
