Just wanting some other opinions on whether or not it would be possible to grow weed outdoors in Scotland, and if it could handle the climate, also does anyone know what strain would be best suited for the Scottish climate, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Just start them off indoors or greenhouse and then plant them out after the last frost. I am not a weed grower but I think it would work being an experienced grower (vegetables).
cheers mate, thats what I was plannin on doin anyways, keeping an oscillating fan on them at all times to strengthen the roots, then once they are about 6 inches tall I will start to get them accustomed to the climate by taking them outside for a couple of hours day-by-day and letting them gradually get used to it instead of shocking them.

I work in a head shop in Glasgow and we sell a lot of seeds. Most of the customers that I've talked to about outdoor growing here say that it can be done here quite easily. LOL one customer grows a lot in the island of Arran!! :D A lot of people have buying Himalya Gold (Greenhouse Seeds). Will get back to you on that one because I'm quite baked right now but basically your looking for a highly mould resistant strain:jointsmile:

Its not too cold ! You need to find a really tough strain that doesnt mind the wind, rain and varying temps, i could reccomend WSS skunk. I had a plant which i germinated inside and left in a pot outside since june this year, i didnt want any bud or anything i just wanted to see if it would survive the changing temps. Its seen snow, minues temps and is still bright green with all its leaves, very much alive. It is possible !!

hollands hope is a hardy mold resistant plant and another to consider is early pearl another hardy mold resistant plant but allso flowers early. best of luck mate:thumbsup:Quote:

+1 mrnice2 an autoflower is get as ya can plant out a different set each week in diiferent spots
not all harvest at one time
alot more autoflowering seeds out there now so happydays :D

hey guys i'm currently growing a barneys blue cheese strain outside in scotland. it's been growing for about 4 weeks now and looks pretty healthy:thumbsup:. when ever it rains i keep a dome over it so that it dosen't die of either the force of the rain or just over watering. so it looks like you can grow weed outside in scotland :)

I don't reckon you can grow in scotland cause they get pissed and forget where their grow plot is,(sorry for the xenophobia).They also deep fry cannabis up there.

hey m8 me and my friend planted some a.m.s outside in the woods we planted in early april 3 was doing fine all wer growing fine until one day we went to check on them and they wer gon :|if yur going to use a strain outside yous ams its an anti mould strain and its good for our glasweegin outdoor weatherQuote:

Talking from experience I have found that the more hardy auto flowering varieties work quite well in these conditions. The reason for this is because a lot of them can go from seed to harvest in as little as 7-8 weeks in some cases and with Scotland not having much of a summer this is ideal. So here is my top ten choices out of the Autoflowering varieties. 1) Green House Big Bang, 2) Lowlife AK47, 3) Barneys Flower Power, 4) Green House Super Critical, 5) Lowryder #2 (of course), 6) Samsara Shot Adrenaline, 7) Advanced Auto Kaya 47, 8) Short Stuff Automatic Assassin, 9) Flash Kush Van Stitch, 10) DNA Genetics 60 Day Wonder. ~~ I have had success with them all getting from 1 to 4 oz per plant. Most autoflowering plants do not grow all that tall so they have the added advantage of being stealthy. It is the Russian "Ruderalis" genome which makes them autoflowering but this can also make them perform poorly if you have a particularly wet summer, so pray for sunshine if you want the best yeilds.
