Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
Hey Everyone.. First off I just wanna let you see my plant.
I have to link it cuz the attachments wont work for me for some reason :\
http://img36.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IM000619.jpg
there's my first picture.. What I wanna know is.. is it okay? it's been raining alot here so I moved it into the garage under a cool white floro light.. also to start it's 12-12 cycle..
http://img36.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IM000617.jpg
http://img36.photobucket.com/albums/...funny_leaf.jpg
above are some pics of the leafs.. where something been eating at it or it's getting nutrient burns can someone help me with that?
http://img36.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IM000618.jpg
http://img36.photobucket.com/albums/...d/IM000616.jpg
and if you'were wondering where the sun leaves are there here
http://img36.photobucket.com/albums/...more_leafs.jpg
did I take to many off?
close to the top it was kinda a light green.. so i figured maybe they weren't getting enough light becuz of the sunleaves I don't know...
any help at all would be nice
thanks
also the plant is about a month and a half maybe 2 months old.. and I've yet to find a ball sack or the female part.. or am I just missing it?

Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
Was your plant in full sunlight? The main stem looks nice and thick, but the plant itself is very spindley. I would not have removed any leaves from that plant it need light badly and even more so in the flowering light cycle! What type of soil is it in and what fertilizers are you using?
-
Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
Hey Sawleaf. To be honest with ya it got an afternoon sun.. behind my house and there's trees.. so it got most of the afternoon sun then later on the sun would hide for the fact of rain clouds... it's been raining here every day nonstop for the past few months.. "evening showers" as we call it.. this is down south btw.. on the east coast
and i'm not to sure about the soil.. but I did mix bonemeal in with it
and i've been feeding it about once every week and a half with some "Expert Gardner Tamto plant food 18-18-21" I'm not to sure about the difference between the fertz or anything.. but I haven't noticed much of a change either in my plant.. by feeding it.. but then again im new.. so i gotta learn :P
AND I just went outside to check on my plant and I noticed bug.. some flys.. and I seen a tiny tiny web.. i'm using Melathion-oil spraying it on there everyday.. but it seems to not be working? I don't know.. it's weird..
And I appreciate your help Sawleaf :) maybe if it ever turns out right I'll send you some of the yield! lol
oh.. and i removed them leaves becuz some of the leaves under them were a light greenish yellow.. and I've heard if that's the case then them leaves aren't getting much light.. and I've also been told that sunleaves.. the ones with 5 points don't matter much anyways.. is this true?
okay ill stop taking up your time.. I'm just like a new father obsessing im doing something wrong.. hehe..
much love and happy tokes to ya

Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
you saw a tiny tiny web?? becareful, it may be spider mites be careful not to put it around your other plants until you are sure cuz the mites are almost unstopable

Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
Those trail looking things (on the funny_leaf.jpg) are called Leafminer. They aren't much to worry about, but hard as hell to get rid of. They usually don't cause much of a problem unless they are evident on 40% or more of your leaves. Leafminer is the larvae of a tiny fly.
I have also noticed that some of you pictures show a plant that has yellowing throughout the entire plant. This usually happens when your nitrogen levels are low or tied up. Try a fertilizer that has a first high number like (16-0-0) or other similar grass fertilizer and see if that helps.
On the pictures with dark green leaves, yet have some type of white spots... this may be a possible sign of leafhopper. You shouldn't need much concern with this, as it doesn't appear to be too much of a problem. The general leaf portions you have shown, seem to be 95-98% healthy... other than the nitrogen deficiency.
As for mites, from my experience, mites seem to cause crinkling of leaves and drooping leaves. This doesn't seem evident in the pictures you have linked.
Hope this helps,
Maulrat

Hey, Alright from what I gather, My plants doing okay! so I don't have to be so frantic about that.. *pause for the bong* okay sorry.. i gotta be at work in an hour and im dreading every minute... hehe..
alright so Maul I'm using a fert that's 18-18-21 is that not good?
and leafminer.. that's a funny word but that's good that you knew that and could help me out :) and im glad to know it's not deadly.. then again it would only be on one or two leafs.. and If i'd pick them.. it'd move to another few...
AND Leafhoppers.. I'm suspecting thats slang for grass hopper... and yeah.. I"ve seen a few around.. pisses me off.. that's okay though.. being me I just grab a pair of scissors and cut their heads off WHILE their enjoying my plant.. fuckin insects :)
but the biggest thing to my concern is my lighting :( I moved it from the sun into my garage under a cool white floro.. and it's kinda scary cuz my soil is still a little wet.. and it's been about a week since it got water!
I don't know.. this is all a new experience for me... been smoking for 8 years now and this is the first time I've ever accomplished getting a plant as tall as it is... before when i would try.. "still lived at home" mom would find them and flush them down the toilet.. lol.. but they were only 9-10 inches then.. so it's all good I guess I don't know...
but I've got to get ready for work and I appreciate all the help I'm getting.. means alot to me :)
and I'll keep you all updated!

:( Well.. I got home from work today.. all happy.. excited.. went to look at my plant and what do you know.. some of the leaves are crispy and curled up.. but.. that's my fault.. I over done it with the Melathion-Oil.. :\ Bugs piss me off.. They ruin almost everything.. lol...
But I hope it'll be okay, i rinsed it off pretty good and tomorrow ill rinse it off again and let it set in the sun just a little... and as soon as I get a picture of it I'll post it up.. just to let you see the outcome of over using a product! hehe..
-
Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
here are the pics... :\
it's kinda funny i fucked up but thats why im a newbie
and the stuff on their right now is water.. i was just rinsing it off hoping that i could at least save it..

Ouch, pesticide burning can be deadly. I am pretty sure your plants should bounce back. Just remember, to prune the leaves that are 70% or more brown or shriveled up.
About the leafhopper. Hehe, it isn't grasshopper. There is an actual insect called leafhopper or fleahopper. I am currently on my 3rd year at my university as an agriculture major. Unless your insect problem is vast, there shouldn't be any need for pesicides. Considering the size of these plants, I wouldn't recommend spraying a pesticide like malathion or sevin unless you spot at least 30-50 insects.
Also, over fertilizing can hurt as well. Remember, that if your plant is yellowing all over, new and older leaves that u maybe having a nitrogen deficiency. 18-18-21 is an overal decent fertilizer, but just to green up your leaves try some grass fertilizer. I have seen some decent ones at K-mart that is pretty cheap.
Hope your plants come back,
Maulrat

Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
hey hey magneslee.. yes it does hurt.. I was depressed for a little while after I got home :( but it's okay.. it should come back like Maulrat said.. i'll go out and pick some of the leaves that are all brown n crunchy after i post this
and, I didn't know a leafhopper was a whole nother insect :) glad to know you know your stuff, Maulrat!
and.. my bug problem wasn't that bad.. but you could see flies around my plant.. so that's why i was spraying it.. but I fucked up and sprayed it to much lol.. I've learned my lesson..
I aprreciate all the help you all have been giving me :) and I can assure i'll be a registered member of this site for a long long time now
and Maulrat so a grass fert with 16-0-0 would be good to feed it once a week now? just to get her green again.. I'll try that, see what happens.. "I've found a new hobbie"
not only do i save money... BUT I CAN SAY I GREW THIS POTENT POT! hehe..
alright I gotta go to work.. first im gonna pick the leaves off then go to work.. you all have a good day and hit your pipe, J, for me if ya don't mind :)
Happy Tokes

Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
Hey.. It's me NewbieGrower again after about a month now... as a couple of you remember.. I killed.. well.. nearly killed my plant with some pesticides..
but.. after that I just kept an eye on it.. 'also i repotted it.. deeper into the gallon bucket cuz it was starting to fall over' so that took care of the problem for a little.. then i had to stick it up and strap it hehe.. im thinking it's becuz of how the carport is and how the house is.. so it's reaching for light for some reason.... or it could be that it's a little wimp and can't handle it.. ALTHOUGH.. it made it through hurricane charlie.. and that other hurricane.. forgot it's name.. charlie may not of been the other name.. but those 2 hurrys that came through FL a few days ago
anyway here are pics of the update.. just let me know if you think it's okay and if it made progress since I last tourcherd it hehe..
and on the top leaf you'll see somethings been eatin it... but yeah.. i think ill let it eat it then me kill my plant over a silly bug
-
Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
The other Hurricane was Bonnie. Went thru Charlie...sucked.
Your plant looks a little chloratic unless it's the flash. Are you on top of the ferts?
A quart of water in a srayer with a drop of dove dish soap sprayed on leaves should keep pests down. (Don't spay after bud formation starts!)
-
Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
nice recovery, have you determind the sex yet?
-
Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
thank ya.. I'm glad it recovered!
and chloratic? i'm confused.. hehe the leaves on it are a little lighter green then others if that's what that means..
and I put fertz in it when i repotted it.. I don't remember what the brand was but i do remember it was around like 18-18-?? don't remember.. jsut remember the first # was good cuz it needed to green a little
but im afraid to water it cuz it seems to be holding water for some reason... I've got like 4534534543 holes in the bottom.. could be the roots are clogging them up.. "also when i repotted it I seen mold :\"
so im thinking im gonna have to put it somewhere else so it'll get full sunlight.. stupid swimming pool taking up the whole yard :(
and... no I've yet to determine the sex.. before i nearly killed it I was putting it into the 12/12 cycle.. but yeah.. scratch that idea.. so I guess now I'm just going to keep growing it outside and hope within the next few months ill have a yeild.. at least a Quarter dry would be nice :) would beat most of this commerical stuff we're getting here... "seedy as fuck too"... and hydro is to much.. im just a poor man hehe
alright well I thank ya for the posts :) I'll keep you all updated!

Thank ya, kram! I'm actually pretty happy with myself for getting it this far... can't wait till I've been doing this for a few more years so it'll be more potent.. and I wont have to wait 23423432423423443 days becuz i screwed up.. hehe
I went outside earlier to check on it.. and I was reading last night about sexing and all that.. just to make sure I knew it.. and it's still not showing me anything.. is she shy? or is he small? hehe I dunno... we'll give it a few more weeks to wait n see... oh.. and let me tell you.. there's no buds on it.. but if you're like a foot away you can smell it.. made me faint!
thanks for the posts people :)
happy tokes

Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
Look closely at the nodes, if there is a small bulge without hairs it is most likely a male, if it is hairy it is most likely a female, but if you have only one plant, which i beleive you do, if its a male, keep it growing so you can make some hash.
-
Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
you just totally opened my mind and made me understand... the node is what is formed between the main stem going up.. and them stem going out.. which makes your leaf.. that's the node if im correct and it does have 2 string things coming out of the sides.. on all the places i've looked that's what i've seen.. so that's a female.. hmm.. we'll keep it going for a few more weeks so I can be sure that's exactly what it is.. I didn't realize that.. :\.. to much pot.. i'll also get a pic of what i'm talking about so we can double check
thanks

Ya done well 4 yourself, check out "Kramllehctim's harvest is here" in indoor growing, my first hydro run. 13 weeks from seed to 10 ounces of shit u only see in high times magazine!
-
Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
If i read corectly, your idea of a node is right. It's where any branch comes off of the main stem, stems if you have pruned. The two stringy things happen in males to though, so look for hairs that are literaly the size of human hairs, even smaller, that are a white, which makes it so you canot see them unless your witin around 5 inches.
-
Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
thats a sweet little plant man but next time try and get it so its a little more stalkyer ( a thicker stem and lower to the growned so it can take the outdoor wind and rain ) also will produce some killer bud if taken care of right but every plant can do that
-
Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
alright lamma I understand now and I was mistakin then.. it does have those 2 stringy things but it shows no sign of what it wants to be.. so we'll give it a couple more weeks and see... the days seem to be getting shorter now so in no time it'll be flowering I hope "also i'd like to not Kram's first hydro grow.. damn nice" there's a link in the above post you guys should check it out!
smokey, thank ya thank ya :) yeah I was thinking the same.. I think the main stem is decent but the rest of it's a little wussy.. but hey it's my first time actually growing a plant for this long.. other times (when I lived at home) my mom would find them and flush em.. so I'm pretty proud in myself :) and where i'm originally from.. middle of no where.. I lived there for a good 7-8 years of my life and learned alot of good tips from guys who've been growing for years and years..
but okay enough of my life history
oh.. and I remember like a couple years ago this site having a picture forum that showed ya the FIM technique.. I don't see it anymore.. or was it FYM? the Fuck I missed cutting thing for your plants.
I dunno I need to go.. beer is gettin to me :)
Happy tokes and wet dreams for those who like wet dreams I think I don't know
good night

Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
hey hey, me again.. just another boring update to let you all know last sunday I finally moved my plant back indoors so I can start it's 12/12.. and it's been about 3 days.. it's lookin good.. I've got pics up there to show ya.. their kinda crappy though.. dunno why? I tried takin a pic of my growbox and the plant together.. but it got reeeaaaallll blurry.. guess cuz of all the tinfoil and the light
but my box is 4ft wide (made it specially so i could fit the light in) and it's like.. 4 ft and 7 inches high.. I cant remember but it's around 4ft
and I have a Cool White Floro (2 base) each 40watts
any suggestions on the lights? I know there's better out there.. but I also do know that what i'm using right now is decent.. and since I'm just startin out this will do good untill I get better.. I remeber when I was younger I would grow in my closet and I was using a 200 watt regular light bulb lol.. and they grew let me tell you.. then my evil mother found them and flushed em..
also can't tell the sex yet.. the pic of the top of the plant which i was trying to get.. in the nodes of it there's white hairs.. but only 1-2 branches have it.. on down it's nothing..
kk sorry to waste your alls time :)

Hey NewbieGrower here needing some advice :P
HPS lights are the best for flowering, but they caust alot of money (150 would be a killer deal), but if you have gotten this far, and are only on 12/12, you could get away with using on floros, but go higher untill you have at leaast 2000 lumens.
