HONEY OIL,, WHAT A PAIN

WELL, I FINALLY GOT EXCITED ENOUGH READING IN HERE ABOUT MAKING HONEY OIL. I BUILT IT A LITTLE DIFFERANT THAN OTHER USERS IN HERE.

HERES MY RECIPE:

1. 1' OF 1 1/4" COPPER PIPE. ( I DON'T TRUST PVC)
2. 2- 1 1/4" COPPER END CAPS
3. 1/8" DRILL BIT
4. PAPER COFFEE FILTER
5. 4- 2.75 oz RONSON BUTANE. (2 6oz CANS WOULD BE BETTER, BUT I COULDN'T FIND THAT SIZE)
6. A FLAT PYREX BOWL.
7. GROUND TO SHIT IN A COFFEE GRINDER, ANY SHAKE AND SWAG AND STEMS AND SEEDS AND ANY MALES THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT, AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT YOU WOULD NORMALLY TRASH. EVERYTHING MUST BE BONE FRIGGEN DRY

1. DRILL 1 HOLE IN ONE END CAP, AND DRILL 5 OR 6 HOLES IN THE OTHER

2. LAY THE FILTER OVER ONE END OF THE PIPE, AND FIT THE END CAP OVER THE FILTER. CUT OFF SOME OF THE EXTRA FILTER THATS HANGING.

3. FILL AND KEEP TAPPING THE PIPE WITH THE VERY FINE SHAKE THAT U GROUND UP IN A COFFEE GRINDER. BUT DON'T PACK IT, JUST TAP THE PIPE UNTIL THE SHAKE IS 1 " FROM THE TOP.

4. PLACE THE CAP WITH THE ONE HOLE OVER THE END OF THE PIPE. USE A PIECE OF DUCT TAPE TO SEAL THE CAP TO THE PIPE. ( I SANDED MY PIPES SO GOOD, THEY DIDNT SEAL REAL GOOD.)

5. OK,, HERE'S THE NO BRAINER PART!!!

BUTANE CAN FUCK YOUR DAY UP REAL BAD!!! I WENT OUTSIDE AND DID THE NEXT STAGE. IT IS SAID THAT YOU CAN DO IT INSIDE WITH FANS AND SHIT.. I LIKE MY SELF WAY TOOOO MUCH. UNDERSTAND THAT ANY SOURCE OF IGNITION WILL SCREW YOUR DAY UP. SO,, DON'T SMOKE, DON'T PROCESS BY ANY THING WITH A PILOT LIGHT, DON'T SMOKE, DON'T PROCESS BY A BBQ, DON'T SMOKE..... ECT. I HOPE YOU GET MY POINT. IF I HAVE TO REALLY EXPLAIN THIS SPARK SHIT TO YOU,, YOU REALLY DON'T NEED TO BE FUCKING WITH THIS.

6. INSERT THE BUTANE INTO THE HOLE IN THE CAP. HOLD THE PIPE WITH A OVEN MITT. ( IT GETS REALLY, REALLY COLD). EMPTY THE WHOLE CAN INTO THE PIPE, TILL YOU HEAR IT STOP HISSING. IF USING THE SMALL CANS, INSERT THE NEXT CAN AND REPEAT. AT THIS POINT, YOU WILL SEE THE BUTANE START DRIPPING OUT THE BOTTOM. KEEP FILLING THE PIPE TILL IT'S ALL GONE AGAIN. REMOVE THE EMPTY CAN, AND START RUBBING YOUR PALM AROUND ON THE CAP. IN A FEW MINUTES, IT WILL STOP DRIPPING, AND THE WHOLE PIPE WILL BE FROSTED UP LIKE A BEER MUG.

7. YOU WILL NOTICE THAT THE DRIPPINGS IN THE PAN ARE BOILING AND HISSING LIKE MAD. BUTANE HAS A VERY LOW BOILING POINT. PLACE YOUR THUMB OVER THE END HOLE, AND START RUBBING THE PIPE WITH YOUR HAND. IT WILL BE COLD, BUT IT WON'T HURT YA IF YA KEEP YOUR HAND MOVING. YOU WILL NOTICE THAT IF YA LIFT YOUR THUMB,,, IT'LL HISS AT YA. SO,,, KEEP IT COVERED AND LET IT HISS OUT THE BOTTOM. I EVEN PUT MY MOUTH ON THE CAP, ( AFTER THE PRESSURE IS GONE, DON'T WANNA GET THAT SHIT IN MY MOUTH, AND BLOW. YOUR BODY HEAT MAKES IT ALL HAPPY AGAIN)

8. AFTER NO MORE COMES OUT THE PIPE, PUT THE PIPE IN A SAFE, QUIET, NON FLAMMABLE PLACE. IT WILL FROST UP FOR AN HOUR OR SO. ( ALSO, THIS THING LOOKS LIKE A PIPE BOMB, SO DON'T LET THE PEOPLE NEXT DORR SEE IT. COPS LOVE SHIT LIKE THIS)

9. I USED A HEATING PAD TO FINISH THE BOILING PROCESS. WHEN THERE IS NO MORE LIQUID, THE FUN BEGINS. YOU CAN GO INSIDE AT THIS POINT, GRAB A COMFY CHAIR, AND SETTLE IN FOR THE PAIN IN THE ASS PART.

10. NOW, SPARK YOURSELF A FATTY. THIS WILL TAKE A WHILE TO GET ALL THE BEAUTIFUL HONEY OIL THAT YOU SEE IN THE PYREX. BUT, BE WARNED,,, THIS SHIT IS SOO STICKY,, YOU COULD BUILD A BOAT WITH IT. IT WILL RUIN ANYTHING IT TOUCHES. BUT WORTH IT.

11. I SCRAPED AT THE GUMMY MESS FOR AN HOUR, AND PLACED ALOT IN 2 DIFF GLASS CONTAINERS. I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST THING TO STORE IT IN. YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET IT ALL BACK OUT OF WHAT EVER YOU PUT IT IN. SO,,,, ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREAT. I PLAN ON SEEING WHAT THE CO-OP SELLS THEIRS IN.

12. AT THIS POINT, I EMPTIED THE PIPE FILLINGS INTO A PAPER CUP. SHOOK IT UP. AND REFILLED THE PIPE. THEN,,,,, REPEAT FROM STEP 3.

13. I AM WAY TOO STONED AT THIS POINT TO DO ANY MORE SCRAPING. SEEMS LIKE A TWEEK THING TO DO. I PUT THE PAN IN THE FREEZER TO KEEP IT OUT OF THE WAY. WILL CONTINUE TOMORROW.

LET ME KNOW IF I MISSED ANYTHING OR IF YOU HAVE A BETTER WAY TO DO ANY OF THIS. IT WAS FUN,,,, ALL IN ALL,,,,,,

Use a little Ever clear alcohol to wash out the HONEY OIL, and then dip the weed in it and let it dry. damm good smoking.

Question... What the hell do you 'do' with the honey oil?
If litespeed hadn't suggested dipping the buds in it, I'd have no idea.

Any more uses for this stuff? How do you 'use' it? Smoke it? Cook with it? Drink it?

Couple drops on a bowl. People paint joints with it. Some "oil" I've seen is more solid so perhaps knives.

use it to make candy pops. :)

great post boyznus,i have tryed the exact same process but the artical i read on it sugested that the pipe you use should be stainless steal ,although mine was galvaized iron i did let it run into a stainles steal bowl..then i placed the bowl in a tub of warm water ,this is a bit much i think as it boiles a bit much
I smoke bongs so i would pac a nice cone then rub the packed cone around in the bottom of the bowl and it would come up and shine with the honey goo on it, it smoked up real well.....

i found that if you take your little stash tin.....or a metal case i have a tin myself and i heat the fucker up and pour away helps out alot....but dont touch that shit hot and cant get it off kinda hurts but feels better when you think you just have been burned by oil. squeeze her easy. dr

I make and sell goo to the cannabis club where I live and I store it and sell it in little glass cocain viles...that way when you can't scrape anymore you grab it with your needle nose plyer's and heat it upside down,let the last bit drip onto your bowl.

That was going to be my intention, after i perfected the process. What does the club pay ya for it? And do they buy it in individual viles or in bulk? I only have have one club around me,,, and it's 3 hours away. So whould have to make it worth the time and effort. thnx

BUD, HASH, OIL, EDIBLES, SEEDS, CLONES, ETC. AND SOME CLUBS ALLOW U TO GO BEHIND THE SCENES AND VAPORIZE UR MEDS. HOW COOL IS THAT? I ONLY HAVE ONE CLUB CLOSE BY, (3 HOURS AWAY), AND THAT IS THE ONLY ONE I'VE EVER BEEN TOO. ITS A TRIP, TO SAY THE LEAST.

I`ve made oil a couple of times using the method above the last time I mixed in powdered bud an pressed into a hash like block ,was most impressed with my efforts an am seriously considering turning future harvests into this whereas before i`ve always just used my trimmins for the oil . be interesting to see how it turns out using fine bud for the oil instead.

the price where i am for honey oil is 40 bucks for a pud (3 and a half grams) 70-80 for 7 grams. have you guys tried the hash oil and normal oil

If you have the equipment its quite easy.1.Buchner Funnel- this is a flat bottomed funnel .This needs to be in an erlynmyer flask (sp).with a siphon port on the side.2.A water siphon valve is a neat little thing you attach to a water faucet to produce a vacuum.If you have a vacuum pump use it.After you have stripped to crude resin from the organic fiber its mixed with a small amount of activated charcoal and poured into the filter paper in the funnel.Turn on the vacuum.Without this your stuck with all the dreaded problem of "passive filtration".The trash attaches its self to the charcoal.Use ether to help wash oil through filter.I prefer ether, but alcohol seems to work.Evaporate excess solvent and your left with this Gold to Red Oil with crystals forming on the edges.This is basic organic separation by solvent.-usdi Agaluga

The clubs are all different in how they buy it from you...they pay me about 40 bucks a gram and I can bring as much or as little as I want...now I'm talking about goo (I'm pretty sure thats the same as honey oil right(Butain hash))The club sells it for twice that,70-80 bucks.

How Is Hash Oil Used

The most common method of smoking it I've seen is to use the clear plastic tube that is the body of a bic disposable pen. Pull out the end cap, and pull out the ink/ball-point thingy. Result: a clear plastic tube.

Then, use something that won't burn or melt, like a pin, straight part of a paper clip, jewelers screw driver, or something similar to dip in the oil. What you want to do is just get a little oil on the bottom 1/8 inch, or so, of whatever it is that you are using.

Heat the oil on the pin or whatever you used by holding it over the burning part of a lit joint without letting them touch. In a few seconds the oil will drop onto the burning joint and burn. Hold the end of the tube above the joint and suck in the smoke.

After a few tries you will be able to determine how much oil to use without letting any go to waste.

For a nicer piece of equipment, take an old tablespoon. Bend the handle so that the handle bends away from the bowl, and then back so that it is pointing up away from the bowl.

Attach the same pen tube to the handle, with some tape, so that the tube points down into the bowl of the spoon. Smear oil into bowl of spoon, and heat spoon from bottom. (This only takes two hands.)

Another technique, if you roll your own cigarettes, is to smear a streak of oil on a cigarette paper, and then roll a cigarette with this paper. Better still, roll it with some herb.

Vapor method: put an old knife on a stove burner (use an electric stove; use a gas job at your own risk). Let it get nice and hot (red hot isn't too hot, but of course you don't wanna deform the knife). Get a paper towel tube or similar-size tube and gather everyone around close.

Use an instrument like the one discussed above, to get a little dab of oil, stand ready with the tube, press the screwdriver against the hot blade and suck.

Don't take too much; it's got incredible expand properties. The stuff will smoke uncontrollably till it's gone, so make sure everyone gets in their suck without letting too much go to waste (it's good if everyone has their own tube).

Another good way to smoke it is to put a drop into the weed in a pipe. However you do it, take small hits. The stuff is lethal on your lungs.

To get the most bang for your buck, put about 10 grams in a 13x7" brownie pan with your favorite brownie recipe. Be sure to mixed the oil in well. Cut into ~1.25" squares. If you do it like this, you will get about 50 squares. If you pay $350 for 10 grams of oil, the cost of a square will be $7.

Eat one and have a wonderful night (sex is highly recommended). Eat two and become part of your favorite couch for 5 hours or so. Eat 5 or 6 and find out what heroin's like without having to mess with needles.

How To Buy Hash Oil

Do not buy hash oil that is black in color, it might be weed oil. Weed oil is shit and should cost less than weed, the buzz is of very short duration.

There is very good hash oil that is dark in color, but the lighter the color, the more refined and potent it is.

Try to buy stuff that looks like honey, "honey oil" it should have a semi-appealing smell, not as good a smell as hash though.

If in doubt, buy a small amount, a gram or less. Three tokes should get you off, for a really good 30 minute buzz. If you are not sure, it's not hash oil, don't buy anymore.

There are many recipies, myths and opinions regarding hash oil. Many recipies call for heating the mixture and for using various solvents. Since most of these solvents contain a high concentration of alcohol we do not recommend heating them in any way. Also we don't reccoment using Isopropyl alcohol as the stuff most people will buy at the store will not be pure 100% alcohol. The best thing if you can find it is to use ethyl alcohol, most people can not obtain ethyl alcohol however so in this case use Everclear or if you can't get that Isopropyl alcohol will do. Just make sure it is 100% pure isopropyl alcohol.

Step 1 - break up your leaves or buds into as fine a powder as you can, a coffee grinder works great for this.

Step 2 - mix alcohol and powder well, use a blender or paint mixer depending on the amount being processed.

Step 3 - allow mixture to soak for at least 24 hours, mixing occasionally. The longer you soak the material the more THC you should extract (to a point of course), anything past a few days is probably overkill but I've known people who leave it indefinitely and just siphon off the everclear for drinking.

Step 4 -

Filter off the plant material using a fine mesh screen, a metal coffee filter works well for this. If you still have more plant material in your extract than you would like you can additionally filter it through a paper coffee filter. The more filtering you do the more pure the extract will be (little or no plant material), however multiple filterings can be a lengthly process when you are processing large amounts of buds or trimmings.

Step 5 -

Evaporate off the liquid part of your solvent. This is where some people use heat to speed up the process. Beware that these solvents are HIGHLY COMBUSTABLE and great care should be taken if you decide to heat them. Never heat them on a gas stove. Our preferred method here is to pour the liquid into a glass baking pan or dish. Then place it in a warm window or near a radiator to evaporate the liquid off. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation. A fan blowing over the top of the liquid will help it evaporate more quickly. As the substance nears completion you will begin to get a tar like substance forming. While it is still somewhat liquid we suggest you start collecting it in one spot on the dish, eventually you will have evaporated off most or all of the alcohol and will be left with the infamous "hash oil". You will likely need to use a razor blade to scrap up the tar.

If your making a small amount 1-2 ounces or less,only need to soak for a few hours(12 at the most) and it wont need to be stured by anything other then a spoon or something like that

Basicly just break it up
soak in 100-99% isopropyl alcohol for 5-24 hours depending on amount (cover during this time.)
Strain with coffee filter and evaporate it in a GLASS bowl or pan(regular coffee filters work)While evaporating it's not nessisary to do anything...just set it in another bowl that has some warm water in it and leave it alone(maybe change the water to warmer water every once in a while.

And my question is when you run the liquid thru the final filter,whats left on the paper and what color is the final liquid?With out fitering with charcoal you play hell trying to get the crude out.And until you remove all the chlorophyll etc. you have produced nothing special.It will still taste and smell 2nd rate.Also if you can get it use petroleum ether.Its the most common used solvent for organic separation.It will evaporate rapidly at room temp so it doesnt take as much heat or time to get rid of it.-usdi Agaluga
