What kind of light is that? I can't tell from the pix.
Whats your soil mix?
Dboy
i am not to sure the light doesnt say much on it. the bulbs are 42 watt philips master pl-t 840/4p.the soil is ordinary compost.
i see that you have little twigs holding the plants up. if you get a fan in there to gently blow them then they will get stronger stems and support themseves.
does the fan need to blow right at them?? will this not cool the grow room down???
i was thinking of getting one of these lights what do you think???
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/500-Watt-Compa...QQcmdZViewItem
it shouldn't be a problem with temperature. you can have it blow right at them but it shouldn't blow on htem very hard. it just neads to make them wiggle a little bit. That would be a realy good ligh to get, make sure you find a socket that will fit it though. i have been trying to get some 65 watt cfls but it has a big... idk what it's called but the part you screw into the socket is huge. That cfl would be plenty of light for veging 2 plants.
plus with cfls ytou canget them realy close to the plants without burning them. plus haveing alight close will make it grow more compact wich is good for saving space.
another good thing for developing the strength is music, the vibrations have the same effect as the fan and it speeds growth too... this is of course only if you dont have to worry about neighbors and shit.
blast some heavy metal in the grow room. Bring in some subs, cuz the bass is what does the trick
your killing me...Quote:

hi new at this.. congrats on the new grow.. like mctuffet said, you need to get a fan running in the room.. just to cause the plant to move.. it can be pointed anywhere for now.. ideally you want to blow it at the light and push the heat up and away from your plant..
speaking of your light, you want to bring it as close to your plant as possible without burning it.. if you are using fluorescent lights and you incorporate simple airflow, you should have the light 1-2 inches from the plant.. keep us posted..
you rOCK
thanks for the info.
what kind of fan is best to use?
one that blows air....:p
come on guys i really need help here...would a wee table fan do the job??
LOL ahhahaQuote:

oscillating is nice to have
yea a table fan will work fine.
garden knome konw his stuff. he wont lead you wrong.
as far as lights. i would get 2, on efor each plant. that would work well if you got those 100watt cfls. those things are beasts. but if you realy wat to get those pupies pumpin you could get another light to put down between them for side lighting. top lights only get about 1/3 of the plant, (thats info from zandor i believe)
i don'tknow if i would put a 100 watt inbetween them though because that could produde a good bit of heat and when they get bigger they will gro too close to it. you could mabe put a small cfl in the middle of them.
i like helping this guy. your A ok by me.
thanks alot for all the info i hope i get a good first grow.
is bat guano any good for feed???
and once again thanks for taking time to reply back :)
Bat guano is the shit. hahahha. yea bat quano works well. people like to make what is called guano tea. you put the bat shit in some water and get it pretty watered doen. then just water your plants with it.
Just a couple things...
1. Tear out the foil if you can have white walls - Foil absorbes your light!
If you can't get rid of the foil, use the DULL side. I know that means
more work, but you need to get as much out of your light sourse as
possible. Believe me, light is the most important thing to do right.
2. Think about your space - it looks pretty cramped. Read up on growing
in small spaces - "Cabinet Growing."
If you get them to maturity, it gets hard working around them and you
will be spending many hours at it. It's a labor of love, but my last
space was killing my back trying to reach far parts of the plants.
3. Think possitive, it may take a few tries to get where you want to go
with this, but it's not rocket science - however, sometimes I wonder ;)
that is retarted, def don't use the dull side of the ten foil. the shiny side is shiney because the light is shining of of it, or reflecting it. as far as using white verses tin foil ikd, but i do know that white paint only reflects like 67% of the light that hits it and mylar is 98% reflective. i personaly would go with the tin foil over the paint.
ph and or watering. :rasta:
