Why is it necessary to be straight?

Let me tell you what is happening...

I am quiting the smoke on the week and i have found myself to be unpleasant without mentioning that i have never played badminton so badly yesterday night (usually pretty stone every move was easier to predict)...

I already tried smoking on the job and everything went pretty fine, and i have a technical job (wich requires a lot of short term memory)

I live in quebec and growing pot is fairly easy either winter or summer so it doesn't cost much to smoke all the time...

So i wanted, at some point to live my life always, not wasted but mellow...more philosophicaly, slower, without the society pressure on my shoulder...

So why do i want to be straight when i don't like it, when it feels more of a bad trip and i don't feel sober in that state of mind?? what do you think..

define straight? straight as in sober or straight as in not gay?

It takes time to adjust when you stop smoking weed... give it ore time.. feel the change in you.. watch it.. make space for yourself to be "straight"

As I am sure you know people who have smoked for 35 years, they are not normal.. you ask, what is normal? Normal is a brain that is not damaged..

these people that smoke everyday for 35 years.. do you want to be like them...

what I am trying to convey to you is, that smoking shouldn't be A WAY of life...

LIFE IS....LIFE IS.. smoking should not dictate it...

IF you are not happy or play badmiton on a lesser level when you are sober, that is OK accept it : )

but don't use that as an argument to smoke... it gives smoking to much of a grip on your life..

Good point...but still am wondering...because yes i know people that have smoked for more than 35 years each and every day...i wouldn't mind being like they are...but you're right, i should accept myself ( like i actually don't ) sober, work on my mind and spirituality sober, before i continue to smoke each and every day...i started thinking deep only when i smoked, i didn't give myself a chance to do this sober...now you see i'm making progress while sober! :D let's light a bowl to that :stoned: !! only kidding! thanks pal!

id love to smoke every day of my life. But i except that if i were to do that, i would end up PROPER SCATTY

Only get somewhat high smoke a bowl only a bowl every hour or so.

yea, i can't enjoy being alone without friends.. i need to be high, or doing something.

Well, I think Garden Knowm hit it on the dot. But, in my words:

Don't smoke just because you wanna get high, or if you're bored. Smoke if you're having a bad day. Don't act like an addict, thinking at work, *I wish I could smoke right now*. I know people that think that at school, and they end up smoking at school, and of course they get busted.

Otherwise, I would just not smoke at all, theres very very few people here on this board that would quit smoking. Right now I have to quit, I was convinced for a day that I was never going to smoke again. That day was yesterday. As soon as I can, I know I'm gonna go smoke again. If you can, I say go sober for a month, or a year, or just forever. It's whatever you think.

yep im at my 3rd day without a smoke but guess what...i m the kind of guy who really enjoys his dream, and when smioke regulary i dont remember too much of my dreams...now i get more lucid dream but in each of them, fuck, i smoke!!! but i believe that helps me because in the day i dont even think like smokin, even when i was alone!! So im anxious to see what this night reserves to me!!

This may have nothing to do with the subject, but this post made me think of it.

We don't smoke bud to deal with our problems; if you do, you have a problem. During the day when we're not stoned, we dont freak out because we're not stoned, we may freak out if we think too hard about it tho.

seriously, its not that you NEED to smoke, it just makes boring times a little better. You can always find something to do when your stoned. It makes the jobs you may have pass a little faster (personally, i can focus way better when im stoned, even after taking a tolerance break and im all clean of thc).
Good times and the bad, it always makes them better when you can come home, sit down and clear your head with a bowl, calm down, relax a few... and then that your not all anxious and aching, you can think of a real way to deal with any problems u might have
