cut down yesterday [sunday 12.34pm]
i was rather upset about having to actually
go through with it, but she will carry on
in future generations.
she is currently hanging in my closet in
the dark with a fan blowing generally in
the room. what would be the best way
for me to dry her you think???

very nice my friend, im about 2 weeks from my first daughters harvest, started late so i dont plan on much, maybe 3/4 or an ounce at most, but i still love her. hats off to you

Here's a cut and paste from another thread of what HD has me doin':
"Cut your plant down and leave it mostly intact, although you can separate and cut apart secondaries so they aren't touching (avoids molding). Ideally, you cut right at the dirt and hang the whole thing, but my secondaries were really close together.
Hang it upside down in a dark place in the low to mid 70'sF. Light degrades THC at this point. The processing of sugar is coming to an end (I guess like Fall and the end of a tree's chlorophyl processing cycle, but this part made me sleepy and I forgot it). The slow hanging method also allows for an even drying.
I'll be hanging them for about three weeks, then doing the final trimming and separate them even more. I'll hang the kola and secondaries for another few days, until the stems are brittle and 'snap' when you bend them.
Then I'll cut the small buds off the stems and put all the buds in canning jars. I have a bunch of those jars with rubber lips and metal wires that seal them airtight. You pack them full, but not tight. The less air the better, but not crushing them.
Once a day, I'll dump them out on a paper bag and give them a toss around to make sure there's no moisture. I have a dark, cold room where they'll stay for about four more weeks."

as for drying, i plan on keeping her hung up, but
like that cut and paste said cutting the seconaries
to avoid touching. hopefully it wont take three
weeks... but i assume for at least the top its gonna
take a while to get really dry enough for curing.
ill probably snag a bit of the weaker buds from the
lower part of the plant as they dry for some premature
smoking though, but the top i will cure properly for as
long as possible. ill try and set up a multiple canning
system so i can leave the best bud untouched through
the process...
this is a pretty cool accomplishment i must say. good
luck everyone with your upcoming harvests... my next
one is hopefully closer to 8 weeks from now than 12...

all i know is theres 43 nodes and 1 big chunk from the top of
the plant, took forever to trim... that is so far my LEAST favourite
part of the grow... but is necessary and a labour of love...
i know ill get more than an ounce, but probably not 2 ounces
once dry... the buds are not very dense...
my next set of babies should start being ready for harvest right
after christmas, so i just need enough out of this plant to get me
through til then, hopefully... would rather buy christmas presents
than weed ya know...
i hope to never buy weed again...
