I just got this information from gooddrugsguide.com or something. im so confused as to what the answer of this question is because you hear different things so much.

i think its tru cuz when i first started to smoke i got rly high but now i dont get as high i donno if its due to tolerance or me just havin more control over my high
im gonna call bullshit here, tolerance is real but 8X? i dunno about yall but one gram of dro uesd to get me fucking blasted, a gram still gets me high and 8 grams would probally kill me (of the shit i get)
the question was if you build a tolerance to weed or not duh.

tolerance does build up, i've heard of people toking up' every single day... and then not being able to get as high.
The cure for this is to to take 2-3 weeks off smoking ( if you can't do that, your pathetic) and then you will then feel like the first time you got high, but much better ;-) well maybe...

i think you can build tolorence, but i also think alot of that is phycosematic and all in your head. My freind swears she doesn't get high off of one blunt anymore, i think she's been telling herself that so long that she accualy doesn't get high from one blunt. on the other hand i havn't been smoking, and when i do toke even shitty weed gets me rocked. :rasta:

Although some users of marijuana may experience slight tolerance, dependence, or withdrawal associated with use, the IOM argues that this is not evidence that marijuana is addictive. The organization asserts that tolerance and dependence are normal physiological adaptations to repeated use of any substance, including prescription drugs. Safe, appropriate use of many prescribed medications -- for pain, anxiety, hypertension, etc. -- routinely produces some level of tolerance and a slight physiological dependence that is addressed through dosage and may lead to withdrawal symptoms if stopped abruptly, rather than gradually.
The IOM also reported that observable symptoms attributed to marijuana withdrawal are rare and were only identifiable in "unique patient settings... limited to adolescents in treatment facilities for substance abuse problems, and in a research setting where subjects were given marijuana or THC daily." Compared to the withdrawal associated with alcohol or heroin, the marijuana-related symptoms of restlessness, irritability, and sleep disruption are minor. According to reports, the symptoms are not "severe enough to re-initiate use of cannabis." The criteria of tolerance, dependence, and withdrawal, therefore, do not indicate marijuana addiction, assert proponents of marijuana legalization.

whats the difference between a physiological tolerance and a psychological one? its true that you dont build a physiological one but some tend to build a psychological one right?
so my guess would be that if you get it out of your head that you arent getting as high anymore, then youll be able to get as high as you used to right?
who cares about tolerence just smoke different strains and u should be good. At least thats how it works for me

Tolerance builds up just think about it.
Your body is used to having a new amount of chemicals in it's system, so in return it says "hey this must be normal" so it becomes adept to these high levels of chemicals. So it takes more to produce the effects as opposed to not having any of these chemicals in your system.
I notice my tolerance building up... and going down again. Finding a decent, reliable dealer in this area is getting difficult now, so we tend to pick up one week, then have nothing for the next three.
Yeah its true, to a degree. I would say regular users may need upto 3x the amount at times maybe but nowhere near 8
