New experience - sorry for the lame question
Hey guys, I have a couple of lame newbie questions. I've searched through all the boards and found similar experiences but wanted some feedback on mine in particular.
I've smoked a couple of times before and never really felt anything. A couple of days ago, I shared a couple of blunts and took some hits from a bong and the experience wasn't all that great. I kept thinking, "I am profoundly bored" over and over again. Some people were playing video games and I had no interest whatsoever in playing and I just sat there for so long thinking how bored I was. I wasn't uptight or anything, just relaxing but thinking about being bored. I was also wicked tired.
The next day I was so tired and so depressed. I took a couple of naps and was just generally not in a good mood. Is that typical?
From what I've gathered, it takes a few times for it to really kick in, and I'm waiting for that to happen. I was just wondering if anyone ever felt the same way, either while smoking or the next day.
I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

i think u got baked, u just didnt realize it, do the same thing next time, n u'll prolly get fucked. unless its some mexican dirt weed

yeah man the main reason people dont get stoned the first time is because they cant inhale right. just take a nice rip and hold it for five seconds (95% of thc is absorbed in the first five seconds) and let it out. do this a few times. you WILL feel something.

Yup...
My first few times, I thought how overrated it was, and that it was boring.
...needless to say, I was wrong. Keep smoking, it'll come.

Yeah make sure you inhale that smoke into your lungs. Otherwise if you think you are keep trying it will come, and youll be baked off your ass.

sounds like you got baked but just spent all your high focusing on how tired and bored you were. I think you should have played video games or had a conversation or something to change your mindset. Its all about atmosphere and mindset. If you're feeling couchlocked you just need to know it can change as soon as you stand up. Being high lets you pay attention to whatever you want so if you're focusing on feeling shitty it will just get worse. Next time you try to get high have an activiety avalible that you enjoy doing... It will help you notice the differences I think.

My rec? Don't smoke shitty weed! Smoke good KB, remember to inhale and hold for 5 seconds, and have something fun to do afterwards-- I recommend ultimate frisbee or disc golf. Oh, and don't forget the snacks!

believe me, first time u enter that state of mind, you WILL know it, and you WILL love it, you will never forget it

this sounds similar to the 2nd time i got high, it was more of a relaxed and chilled out high and i wasnt rolling on the floor laughing like the first time i smoked. I was depressed for like a week and almost felt like my mind was on autopiolet, i would move without thinking about it.. it was weird, i would sit in class and all of a sudden out of nowhere it would feel like i was high again and it freaked the shit out of me but after about a week or so i returned to normal again. I guess this is just your mind and body getting used to the thc. hope this help u out.

I've got a question. I'm trying to convince my wife of eating it with me. Does the same apply to eating, as does smoking? The same being it not working the first time.
New experience - sorry for the lame question
I know she won't smoke it, so I have to go the eating route.

I've never cooked something that didn't have noticable effect. My personal theory on why most people don't feel it their first time or so when smoking is that it's usually because they simply don't know how to smoke it. I'm not saying there aren't people out there with high tolerences naturally, I've just witnessed many a beginner take one or two whispy puffs, cough, mutter something about "harsh" and then wonder why they didn't get high later on.
So you always avoid that with cooking. But that might seem like a big step to go to from not having any pot experience to eating a cookie/brownie... Cookies pack a much larger hit usually and you're sorta committed to it. I've seen people peak beyond their comfort zone and it's not a happy evening for them. I mention all this only because I have no idea what your situation is and these points might merit consideration...

Man, I can't even relate. I got high the first time, and have never NOT gotten high off of weed. I've at least obtained a buzz and it keeps it good.
Sorry, I don't know it doesn't sound like you got baked to me but you could've smoked too much and just been "smoked sober" as many like to put it.

Eating the THC is more psychoactive then the smoking method.
