Hey, I'm new here. I mainly joined to ask this question.
It might seem like a stupid question, but will smoking weed significantly slow down the recovery of a sore throat? I've had the flu for the past few days and seem to be getting better, but I still have a pretty raw throat. Obviously smoking would feel really harsh on my throat, but will it make it take longer to get better?

To put it in a doctors terms, Take cough medicine and sore throat stuff, smoke weed, and drink plenty of water.
if your throat is really sore, like if it is extremely hard to swallow, without it hurting, it makes it worse, especially if you use a filter or use a bong. smoke a filterless spliff and it'll be good..

smoking with throat conditions is a hard trade-off. either bask in the euphoria (and sometimes even clearing the phlegm) of the nasal cavities being caressed by THC, whilst slowing down the process of throat healing, and even contributing to the mucus level while most likely further aggrivating it by some coughing while smoking.
oh, by the way... most will recommend bong usage while battling a throat condition. cooled water is preferable.
what exactly are you talking about? I read a 7 page FAQ on how THC is registered in the body and knowhere do i recall the mention of there being thc receptors in your nose, therefore having THC anywhere near your nose does absolutely nothing. I could be wrong....but i doubt it, it was a pretty professionally done article with research to back up the statementsQuote:

if you can then use a vape, if not then I would just smoke. but that is your choice. it definitly will not help your throat

As long as you are taking medicine to better the flu the smoke will do nothing but agitate the sore throat IF YOU take huge hits that make you cough.
I have the flu, smoked out last night, my throat feels fine.
you enjoy that halloween high, duder? i was baked, too. i got a bit of throat agitation, myself. a cough and runny sinuses.
It was alright, rining like a bitch so I baked my moms car and PLUS I caught the flu the day before and was throwing up and coughing and all that shit so I didn't take any incredible rips.
SUPRISINGLY though, 2 bowls lasted for OVER 30 hits, which is fucking incredible. Never got so much smoke out of my hash, maybe I broke it up JUST right so it burned slow and proper and it wasn't broken up too fine.

god damn, dude. the most i've gotten out of a bowl was probably 10-12 hits. that shit was mad dense + wet.
That's about how much I got on average, I got 10 out of half a bowl of hash and about 30, 28 to be exact, I started counting after I realized I really couldn't smoke that much more.
i actually switched to the pipe about 20 minutes ago - i've been smoking out of the bong too much. yeah, there is such a thing. i'm tired of having to scrape it because the stem continually gets clogged.

One can never smoke toke too much, only choke too much.
If you've been smoking for longer than 6 months (AND I'M BEING GENEROUS AS HELL) and you're still choking alot, somethings wrong.
even thinking back to last year i never coughed hitting pure THC crystal.
i never cough unless there's a god damn reason, and it's going to have nothing to do with this smoke.
