that is a beautiful picture. i wish i could have seen that in person! last september, my friend and i went and picked up a qp, drank some beer and watched a lightning storm from my spa, after about a hour the storm started to get close, close enought so that the lightning and the thunder were instantaneous. so my friend jumped out of the spa and i stayed in. then in the next 5-10 secondes 5 lightning bolts crashed around me. 2 infront one to my right and 2 behind me all less that 100 yards from me! ive never been so scared in my life. the shockwave hit me like a gust of wind the hair on my body stood up and the air was full of electricity, and all 5 bolts hit in my neighbors yards and in the street, all this happened as i jumped out of the spa, and ran for cover under my patio. my family and the entire neighbor hood woke up. it was incrediable. just thought i would share that! nature is amazing
cool pic bra
thats prettty sweet, I love getting high and watching a good storm :)
that is so beautiful
The power of nature is unstoppable... :stoned:
its cool how they are all connected to the electricity lines, does this always happen???
Just think, those things are circling the globe, as we speak.
Lightning shots are cool. I like the photos they show of thunder, better.
I thought thunder was just the "after effect" of lightning when you hear thunder it means lightning struck somewhere????maybe im wrong lol
wikipedia encyclopedia:
Thunder is the sound of the shockwave caused when lightning instantly heats the air around it to up to 30 000 °C (54 000 °F). That super-heated air expands rapidly, then contracts as it cools. The rapid expansion/contraction generates sound waves, making the sound that is called "thunder."
Since sound and light travel at different speeds through the atmosphere, one can time the interval between them to roughly estimate how far away the bolt of lightning is. The speed of sound in air is approximately 340 m/s (761 mph), while the speed of light is so fast that the lightning is seen only a few microseconds after the event.
Lol, sorry if I confused anyone with my lame sense of humor.
Awesome pic, nothing like sitting on the back porch, smoking a bowl, and watching a thunderstorm.

but is a cool pic i like to seem them spread over the sky its crazy as fuck looking
thats an awesome pic. I love watching thunderstorms, they're amazing
I was out in the high dessert of Arizona one summer looking for arrowheads.
Could see a storm rapidly approaching, the clouds were windswept and touching the ground. I tried to get back to my vehicle a mile a way. Didnt make it.
Had about 3 lightning bolts like in the picture you have come within several hundred feet of me. Close enough! Tremendous power and shock wave. Ill never forget that sound.
I was just praying I didnt get hit. I was as tall as most pinion pine trees out there, so I had to just crouch down and ride it out. I got slammed with rain in nothing but a t-shirt.
Found 6 perfect arrowheads that day and when I look at them I always think of that lighting storm and the close call.
good pic.
