Well, Ive been workin for a few days tryin to make myself a pipe and this was the best I could do. What do you think? How should I paint/color it? I would only paint the tube part so that I dont accidentally smoke paint...

lol i feel so proud of it but then when I see real pipes it looks like a piece of shit. I would like to paint it only because it looks gay and Im not gonna be able to use it till tomorrow night anyways, and i got these fast drying paint/marker things. I just suck at drawing and it would prolly look retarded but i could always sand off the paint.
that bowl stuck in there nice and tight? so ur not suckin up air while u toke?

nah dude its completely air tight... pretty lucky that the bowl fit perfectly huh. and no theres no carb...that lil black thing is just a lil knot in the wood. I cant beleive it came out this good.
cool, cool...yeah it looked like a carb, but good thing its not...so yeah thats nice, id definately smoke out of it.
it wouldnt matter if there was a carb. i hope that thing is nice and neat inside. dont want to smoke wood shavings or splinters

Thats awesome dude, you should paint it. It looks sorat "unfinished" plain. If you lived by me and i actually knew you, i could draw and paint cool dragons and mushrooms and weird shit like that becuz im a really good drawer. But since that wont happen. I think you should get a match(s) or lighter and like burn it make it a darker color. You might fuck up on that part so id be careful. You could get some cool like glazed (dont know the name) like OAK/dark wood color and paint it with that. That would look sweet. This would be cool:
Man that is absoulutely beautiful, totally beats a bought pipe. I would paint it something trippy, but that depends on your artistic ability. Very nice either way, good job.

Can you explain how you made it and what the bowl is? I wanna make one.
Ok well first i took like a block of wood (i hada saw it off a long piece) that was as long as i wanted the pipe to be... and then I took a hand drill (stationary drill would be better but mine doesnt work) and I drilled a hole as long as i wanted it to be... and u gotta take the bit out and like see how far it went in and then drill a hole from the top of the block so that it connected to the hole I made before. Then, I used a knife to carve it to the shape I wanted. I just kinda made it smaller and rounder...make sure you make the bottom flat so that you can put it down and pack it without it spilling. Then, I found a (i dunno what there called...they are for wrenches and they are different sizes and stuff... Its for those wrenches u use for bolts) and I found the right size. If it doesnt fit pefectly you can use hot glue (not to much) to make it airtight... and then if you dont want your weed to go in your mouth u gotta cut a tiny square out of a pop can or something (or find a screen if u can) and poke little holes in it and then shove it down into the bowl hole. OH yeah and before making the bowl, SAND. ALOT. wiht sandpaper. It not only makes it look better, it keeps u from getting splinters n stuff. Sand inside if you can, too. Make sure you blow through the pipe to get all the shit out that u sanded off. Sorry if this is complicated or anything just ask me if your confused...

looking good, you could wood stain it make it look nice,or paint a pot leaf on it.
why do everything, that everyone else does? i think it's just fine like it is..i see no reason to paint it....it shouldn't be about the visualization....it should be about the hard work you put into it, and the personality it has because you put your work and sweat into it...instead of a machine..just my 2 cents.Quote:

as long as u get untreated wood. if u use wood thats been treated theres a bunh of shit in it, and rite off the top of my head i can only think of arsenic as being the most harmful to u.Quote:

kinda hard to explain....but think about it this way...picture some shitty 2 x 4 in your head, that's still really rough, and you can see alot of imperfections....might even be warped or bowed.... treated won't be that way...treated will probably be darker, be a hell of a lot more smooth, and there will be little or no imperfections in the wood. it's just kinda something you have to know....if they're brand new (or haven't been mesed with really) it should stil have a tag at one end stapled there about half the size of a credit card that would say whether it's treated or not....being able to tell the diffrence is kinda something you jus thave to know, i don't think there is any fail safe way to tell if it's treated or not....Quote:
