Was thinking about loss of short term memory with weed

The past few days, i have been thinking to myself that, you know weed gives you a kinda loss of short term memory?
Well for the past few days i have thought about that it only seems to be the unimportant and trivial things i forget, things i don't really need to know.
Maybe weed makes you forget the unimportant things and stuff you don't want/need to know, keeps your mind clear and lets you store more important information easier.

I noticed i can memorise things so well when high, and when i smoke every day, as i have installed some software on my new computer and i can memorize the CD keys, like read the 4 numbers and put them in without checking, whereas before, i'd check it after every letter..

I am also able to memorise numbers and important information and keep it in mind the whole time, thinking about it.

I find these type of things interesting, so i feel this is a good topic to discuss.

Sadly I lose important stuff like money, car keys, my hiterbox LOL

Lol, aww damn that sucks, i like how i can store information better when high lol and so forgetting the shit information is cool, gives me less to have to think about:D

You know, unless it's really a problem, I don't see why anyone should care. How else are we gonna laugh at ourself as hard as we do when we forget to turn off the oven, and burn the house down?

i always forget a lot of things

last week i forgot my discman somwhere at school

good that ppl where i go are honest so i got it back

but yea weed affect a lil bit short term memory for sure i guess

Well the oven being on would be a top priority of mine, so i would store that info and constantly think about it until it was needing to be turned off.. so it all works out in the end:D

I guess my posts about leaving ash in the sink proves that that isn't a priority of mine.. but should be lol:p

Gotta get back to packing, if y'all don't hear from me for a couple of days it means that I accidently locked myself in the back of the moving van. (just kidding)

Ash in the sink is at least close to water, but I think the oven being on would be a top priority for me too. If the oven is on when I am stoned I am sure to check it cause it probably means that I have the munchies.

Yeah lol, when something has the ability to go horribly wrong i will keep checking on it, over and over again, as we can't give weed even more of a bad name now can we?! lol

its kinda of tuff if ur going to school, like trying to rember something ur being taught, its like in one ear and out the other...lol

ha, wats up. reefer effects my memory pretty bad! lol i will forget very simple things like words. i will be talking about something and then the next word i'm about to say just gets away from me. i honestly cant remeber anything for shit. ha just the other day i forgot how to do division. you know like 256487 divided by 123651. i was sitting there for hours trying to remeber. the next day i finally remebered. i am having to cut down on smoking because i forget so much!! i hate it! that is one of the only side effects of reefer i dont like, that and cottonmouth. now that shit is terrible!!

I forget things I say within several minutes (sometimes seconds) but other than that I don't have hardly any problems with...

Yeah i have that problem too drugman joe...but if i forgot something i said it musent have been very important...wow i just proved what ur saying 3 sheets. :confused: :D

One time my dad called me to ask me to pick up milk at the grocery store. Right when he hung up, I immediately forgot what he asked me to get. I had to call him up again and it was sooooooo embarassing. I felt like I was that guy from the movie Memento.

I don't know too much about memorizing stuff when stoned. Usually I don't feel like memorizing when stoned. But I did memorize about 150 digits of pi before I ever started smoking pot, and drilled most of them into my head so thoroughly that they won't go away.

yea i tend to lose a lot of things when im high. a couple nights ago, i smoked and accidentally threw out my baggie with weed in it because i wasnt paying attention.

mostly, i just tend to forget about school stuff. if i smoke at night, i wont remember anything that i learned in lecture the day before. but i never end up forgetting things like song's lyrics and other stuff.

same thing happens to me man.. ;)

I have it bad. Today was worse cause I hadn't slept in a day. It was rough to hold a conversation with someone because I kept having to stop and remember what I was just talking about. I actually had to ask them a couple times. I didn't just blank out or anything mid-sentence. It'd be like.

Me: So I was sitting in the library drinking a Starbucks...
Roommate: Oh that reminds me, did you forget to make coffee this morning or something? (I had put the filter and grinds in and then forgot about it)
Me: Huh? Ohhh haha yea. Anyways... *pause* umm.. what was I saying?

Yea, this happened about 28 seperate times today.

Weed doesn't do much to my memory, other than making me blank out alot when I'm high.

I feel like when when I'm high then i can remember things from when I was high and the more often I get high the more my mind gets used to being high and so it just adapts to it and I become just as proficient at things when i'm high as when im sober

Actually most of my memories start out as... "UGH YOU REMEMBER THAT ONE TIME WHEN WE WAS HIGH?" or "YOU REMEMBER THAT TIME WE WAS OUT LOOKING FOR GRASS?" ect, ect.

its a proven fact that marijuana only destroys the weak braincells, like you said, trivial information, 'forgotten' memories (hows that for an oxymoron?), unused memory cells ...etc
