New Smoking tool...

Hello everyone,

I'd like to share with you guys an idea that I've been boiling inside my head for quite some time now... All input is greatly appreciated, as I hope that I can build a prototype soon.

SALES PITCH: How would you like to smoke wherever you are? How would you like to smoke vaporized buds? How about having it concealed in a lighter? How about having enough vapo smoke to last you the entire day? How about tokin inside the movie theater without anybody knowing?

Please bear with me...

IDEA: You get a Volcano vaporizer... others will work, but let's use the Volcano for simplicity.
1. You fill up your Volcano bag with THC vapor...
2. You take a "pressure chamber" (basically, a cylinder), and discharge the THC vapor from the bag INTO that pressure chamber. Now, the pressure chamber is divided into two sections by a piston in the middle. When you discharge the THC vapor into one of the sections, the piston is retracted.
3. You connect the output of this 'THC vapor chamber' to a small nipple - just like the ones used to refill butane lighters. To this nipple, you connect an EMPTY refillable butane lighter.
4. You then proceed to push the piston DOWN from the other side of the cylinder.

You would be pushing all the THC vapor into the lighter. I checked, and the typical Bic Lighter has about 60psi of butane inside. It's a good estimate to shoot for 50psi of THC vapor inside the lighter.

5. Once you've filled up your lighter, you're ready to go! Whenever you want to smoke, just place the lighter on your mouth and press on the valve for a couple of seconds...


PROBLEMS: Will the THC vapor solidify/liquify inside the lighter? Thereby clogging it?
You might need to do a couple of cycles of refilling in order to get the lighter to 50psi.

I eagerly await any and all inputs...

I can't answer any of your questions but that seems like the coolest idea in the world. I don't think I could ever be patient enough to do it though. I'd probably end up taking a hit somewhere between the bag and the pressure chamber.

Your fundamental prolem would be the psi would need to be far greater than a bic as you would have failure in making the gas pure THC vapors.

THC vaporizes at what, 212 F? But that is accomlished with air at that temperature being drawn across THC laden material. YOu cannot vaporize THC by contact...it must be done by air at specific temps being drawn across trichomes, and melting them to a gas.

Thus, your cylinder would contain at least 5 or 6 times more O2 than THC vapor.

NOw get around that issue and I will order all you can get some chinese people to make :)

I thinks its great idea...

But one last issue......

The THC, once cooled, will return from a gaseous state to a resinous state. So your cylinder would also have to heat to 212 F to turn again to gas.

I couldn't be more excited to share my idea... OK! So I had pretty much the same idea... what's portable, small, and easy access to the mouth... CANDY! So you get this pressure chamber to a specific heat at which the THC vaporizes but does not combust, obviously... have a connecting chamber where a piece of hard candy... such as a mint is placed because you could not have the candy in the same chamber at the temp needed to vaporize the THC cuz the chemicals in the candy would combust way before... none-the-less... in your candy chamber... or 'cooling chamber'... the THC vapor is then released into this chamber where it is cooled and condenses on the candy itself... thus forming a condensed layer of THC on the mint... so whenever ur in class or on a bus and wanna get ripped... pop in a mint! And in seconds you'll be higher than ever!! (thought about that idea when I was lit... also... ponder the idea of alcoholic gum... maybe?) Hahaha... thanks for starting this thread turtle!!

Interesting... I read a FAQ yesterday for making THC pills... Using the gelcaps that are typically available. You would boil your THC mixture (hash, keef, etc.) and after a process, you'd end up with a powder, which you would then proceed to put into the gelcaps.... Whenever you wanted to get high, you pop one of the gelcaps into your mouth and swallow it.... It's an interesting idea.

Turtle we have several new mods here today and one of them is called Ocram. He is a very cool person and he does have a volcano so you can ask him abou it. He hangs in chat a lot of the times look for him there.

All you guys remember that ingesting THC is a lot different than smoking it.

I for one cannot stand it. I have done it with meatballs, salads and baked brownies and chicken and WILL NEVER, NEVER NVER NVER do it again.

It induces my panic attacks and the fucking buzz it way to heady for me and lasts 2 days if you over do it.

Last time I did it, I hungto the wife fora day and a half for fear i was gonna die.

NO WAY JOSE for me anymore :)

Smoking does that to some people, so what's your point? ingesting THC is not that much different from smoking it. The results are just more drawn out sometimes taking up to two hours to take effect. It all comes down to the physics of your body

Why bother, why not just fill a gel-cap with little bits of hash? thats the form it comes in when you make brownies isnt it? you crush up some hash into the cake mix? i reckon that would get you high.

As for the portable supply of THC vapour, hmmm....i dont know much about vapourisers but i would assume, that the THC vapour would not remain a gas in the lighter, the vapour comes off at some hot temperature, and it would cool quickly while you were trying to get it into the lighter. If you were lucky and managed to get it in, it would cool inside the lighter and condense to whatever state, especially if it is pressurised.

hmmm... just thinking about a portable vapouriser... bear with me since im not even sure how a proper vapouriser works...

how about some kind of device, imagine a thin metal cylender, the size+shape of a cigarette, unscrews into 3 sections, in the middle section you put some bud, the end section is some kind of element which you would heat with a lighter [hot enough??? maybe one of those storm-lighters...] and the other end that you put in your mouth contains thin passages to cool the vapour so it dosnt burn your lungs. heat the element, take a toke, the hot air vapes the THC, cools in the other end and you inhale! Bingo! portable vapouriser!!! It could even be made to look like a normal cigarette!

Let me know if anyone makes any money from this....

That is not how brownies are made. The hash/pot used for cooking needs to be cooked before hand to get the THC out.. if you remember thc is not water soluble. which means just pouring it into your cake mix isn't going to do squat.

the thing about ingesting weed is that the absorption of THC is close to 100% whereas with a joint, it is maybe half that [dont really know the specifics, but it is a lot less] and that is only from the smoke that enters your lungs, why not try putting just, say, one joints worth into a whole batch of brownies, or even less. I dont know how well known the glastonbury festival is in america but i got this wonderful flapjack there that tasted soooo good, and we just got slighly warm inside, a bit fuzzy u know.

THC is not water soluable. It is however fat soluable. This means that to penetrate the bloodstream via the glucose polymers, there must be fat lipids present. That is why your cannabutter seems to be so good....any fat lipids will do.

You can find your fat lipids in the meatballs, in the butter, in anything with fat. Once absorbed in to the bloodstream, THC now has to deal with a way to cross the blood brain barrier.

In gaseous or vapor form, this is very easy. However, in matter or solid form, it is much much more difficult.

If you want to maximize the THC transition thru the blood brain barrier, try eating some raw with a couple of fish oil supplements....ideally those high in Omega 3....there you get delivery at maximum levels thru the EPA : DHA ratio of 3:2.

I dont know everything.....never claimed to. Hell even posted one guy I couldnt help with his clone questions cuz I dont have nuff experience to do so.

But I do know you can get high when YOU SAY.... "just pouring it into your cake mix isn't going to do squat."

I was arguing that raw cannabis will not get you that "fucked up" and infact can cause some people to get sick. THC needs to be extracted by "solvent", alcohol or heat. this is why we cook with cannabis.. and smoke it too. Where do you get the idea that i'm a nurse? what does heat have anything to do with brain chemisty? we're talking about making the THC compound active before putting it into your body.

Eating raw bud, will not get you nearly as high as it would if you smoked or cooked with it..
