Here's Jane enjoying nutes at Day 9 of 12/12.
1st clones don't look so good. Has anybody seen good clones come from this extent of nutrient depletion. Only see the barest hints of root bumps on day 8 of cloning.
Based on how cooked these clones look - keepin in mind I'd be fine with getting just 2 of the 8... could these have gotten cooked if bubbler water got as high as 90 degrees F, which mighta happened on Day 3 I think. Kept things more around high 70's otherwise.
History. These clone clippings were from scrappy stunted lowest down of Jane's branches.
They were getting worse light during veg than rest of plant. Ergo, the smallishness of the clones' leaves, so many of which look fried now. They've been 6" beneath 18" tube flos, 18/6, no dome, only Wilt-Pruf sprayed on Day 1, then missed several mistings first four days - .
Am I definitely looking at taking a second set of clones before the 14th day of 12/12.
Could roots be just about to sprout as late as day 9 or 10? 12? Later than 12? I know I read it someplace but

clones, in order to root, need much more humidity.. i've always had mine around 90% when rooting clones
check my posting in this thread about some cloning info: http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=33297

Clearly these clones are late then I guess.
This is what sucks about doing everything the first time...lol.
Unless you've read everything ever posted or printed you don't even know what you're looking out for.
Used Rootone only where Z's 101 recipe definitely indicates the use of a gel.
Knew danged well I'd regret skippin that part, Z.
Anyway, gotta be real about this.
1. I have the peat pucks (also have vermiculite and perlite to mix???)
2. I have the plastic greenhouse components.
3. Onhand heating pad is too warm for this small a tank.
4. Dunce girlfriend is nervous three layers of plastic will get compromised and cause a neighborhood wide inferno.
5. Gotta get gel either way.
6. So Z, anybody, what is the absolute "coolest" and I mean tells LE to shove it when asked for shipping records kinda place.
trummel, thanks but in that post ... you didn't say how you kept things warm, or if, or whether you used lamp or what kind of lamp - assumin a florescent like right down onto the clear dome, ya?

CLONES can endure. don't worry.. those look fine..
: )
you won't hear this very often from me...
but.. easy up on the nuts/gels/root tone on the clones.. and keep the light a good distantance form them
at 75-80 degrees, in rockwool, with no gel or root tone, 90% of the most patheltic clones will root in 10 days..
and I mean pathetic..
wilt spray is god send!!!

Thank you!
Seen your posts - venerable as any - but my proxy server is usually so slow I don??t click peripheral links as a habit, but just watched movie for 1st time. And Wow! Flash work??s excellent too.
Housemate partner plans to begin to sell (!!show!!) this house in about 18 months so growing expenses are far from being encouraged. The movie will definitely help out when the time??s right.
End of last week hadn??t seen Zandor around much so always good when the best of you guys jump in and shoulder our newbie panic attacks.
Bottom line on these clones, and for all sound cloning methods is that i need to manage the temps better. (These clones also got chilled pretty good (below 69F) on another morning.)
1. Can I keep misting say 3x per day with the Wilt-Pruf, same as with plain water, or aren??t the anti-wilt sprays more of a one shot coating deal?
2. Are we saying distance of lights above clones could be closer to 12 to 14 inches?
Will check for clone root shoots tomorrow.
tks, all

sorry, that i didn't put the part about the light and the heating in the original post, but here we go:
the green house was one of the heated kind (with a heating cable running through it's bottom) and the whole system stood in a former bathroom that was kept at a certain temperature anyhow.
at the same time when cutting new clones, i always had some others that already rooted and were put in soil (at that time at least.. later i changed to a aeroflow system) and were about to being given away to friends or used by myself.. those were standing under 20 fluorescent lights (15 of them were 865's (that's 3-band and 6500 K colortemperature) and the other 5 840's (3-band, 4000 K))
i always put the greenhouse directly next to the other clones, so the lamps were not directly overhead, but about 15 inches away to the top-right, but this was an issue of lacking space ;)

Wilt spray is used just once at time of cuttings.. stuff is AWESOME...
The best way to manage plants is to keep the lights as absolutely close as possible.
ie- at 12 inches a 1000 watt hps provides approx 150,000 lumens
at 24 inches a 1000 watt hps provides approx 75,000
1/2 the lumes!!!!!! there will be a direct correlation in BUD SIZE and MASS... buds that are 2 inches from a 1000 HID will be HUGE.. like a baseball bat. Buds that are 15 inches willbe more... more.. more like your dick...LOL and buds at 24 inches will be like a pencil...
the closer the light, the closer the nodes will be (this equates to bigger denser buds) and the shorter your plant will be.. THIS IS GOOD : )
During cloning you can keep a cfl at 5-15 inches from you babies....
But when the clones show legs (roots) you can (should) bring the light down to within 1 of the babies.
hope this helps... : )

This is shortcut to my cloning thread...I learned from Zandor and adapted his theories to products I found at Wally's...hope this helps...these clones are currently filling a 6 x 4 room :D

Rezinator -
What light do you have on those clones?
What is the humidity in your clone area?
I assume the Ph is correct so what type of water are you using?
The clones dont look very healthy to me. I guess that is an old picture #1 I mean so how are they doing today?
Pics of Strugglin Clones, Zandor
Lights mighta done it Z.
Using an old Dazor lamp with 3 18? long flo tubes.
I had the lamp about 6 inches above them. Without a dome.
Temp of water was imprecisely held around 78 but got away from me first night when I left heating pad on. Water mighta gotten close to 90 but didn??t measure it.
For the tank I pH??d 2 gallon jugs of distilled after adding a half teaspoon of organic Neptunes Harvest Fish and Seaweed. Plus a quarter teaspoon of a Vigoro root enhancer that has B1 in it.
Humidity in this basement has been running between 40 and 45.
Just took these pics and looked at roots.
Z. keep in mind these cuttings were lowest branches that really had terrible light for several weeks during veg.
They had to go anyway to complete plant entry into box so looked at these as good sacrificial practice clones.
Nobody's said this Home Depot offering called Wilt-Pruf is as good as the anti-wilt you've used. Also did not use a gel.
Leaves are so miniaturized now that I look at more and more cloning logs.

With anti wilt you don't use a dome they are not needed.
Your water temperature is way to hot; you can hold more oxygen in the water with colder temperatures. You may have cooked them. The rooting gel or hormone powder is almost a must for cloning.
Better luck next time, keep up the faith dude.
