I mean c'mon!!! why are most people act so badly againts weed anyways...pot does have its obvious medical side to it but why do people hate it...could it be just they way how they were brought up...how the goverment brained wahsed them saying as soon as you touch pot you become somthing like a cuban druglord?! or could it simply their bad experiences with pot so they force their kids to like...never touch drugs...or you'll DIE!!! anyone got any views on this?

we're taught from a young age that all illegal drugs are bad, and they're all equally terrible and life destroying. unfortunately for big brother, we still have some people who use *gasp* critical thinking skills and actually find out for themselves.
it is quite remarkable though, how a whole society based around hatred of the evil marijuana is maintained through confirming each other of their own lies. (much like many areas of religion).
because the goverment likes to link pot to other hard drugs saying its the path to etc so people who dont know that rather than controlling drugs lead there children etc to the street where other drugs are offered
i don't get it either! but it's really 1 thing: education. and not enough of it!
seriously - as a kid, you can sit in front of the TV during the football season and get to see all the ass, tits, beer, and cars you want. right? (no offense, NFL fans hopefully you see what im getting at) beer, cars, cars, beer, tits, women... cool, hip trendy.. right.
then the family wants to know why the kid is dead after he killed himself and his hot babe in his car while driving intoxicated.
but god forbid we teach about pot and how it relaxes, heightens enjoyment and the senses (for me) it's medical properties, it's uses in various industries (clothes, rope whatever)
no, let's just focus on the fact that bad people sell pot and so it's evil. fucking grow up planet earth!

too true all too true...the education on the true meaning of pot is just ignored and propaganda used to lure ppl to the all mighty carcinogenic cigarettes n crap! much more healthy to smoke pot in my mind:) but anywho its a plant like morvak said jus like tea etc...hard to imagine that the views on MJ and opium etc were so differnt as little as 100 years ago when MJ was used as a headache cure! go figure...be soo nice living back then just walk into a shop and say

Some people react bad about weed because they are uneducated about it. Most of them have never had a first hand experience using it for medical, spiritual, or social atmosphere. They believe what the TV or media tells them too, and so many people have trust in the government(s) and figure they can trust them. So untrue. A few years ago, my teacher for a rehabilitation class said he knew a lot about weed. I was in there for a DUI.
On break, I talked to him and he told me to expect, within the next ten years, Europe and the U.S. to reveal it's studies.
He told me a lot of shit, but the main thing was...

See, The reason i smoke weed because when i do, it takes me away and makes me a happy person from all of my shit i gotta deal with. Everyone who is against weed sees it as a bad thing because supposvely it kills brain cells and is bad for your health, but what i thinnk people smoke is for fun, i mean right guys? Im sure everyone has a grand old time when they smoke, i sure as hell do when i smoke with my friends, but others see it as just like its bad for you and illegal, Im sure if these fucks actually smoked they would understand, BUT THEY DONT, THEY'RE MISSING OUT, THEIR LOSS!

The majority of people believe bad things about pot simply because the majority of people say bad things about pot. The vast majority of things you hear about pot in public are negative, and without any direct experience with it people are likely to believe them. For most people it's inconceivable that the government and the education system would so adamantly propagate an idea that just isn't true. Then when they hear somebody touting the scientific evidence that pot is a relatively harmless drug, they will dismiss them as just a deluded drug addict and won't take anything seriously.
The reason it's so hard to challenge the prevailing ideas effectively is that to most people our ideas are really outlandish, since they are in direct opposition to everything they've been taught throughout their lives by teachers, policemen, parents, legislators and the press. To that person, you look like just another crackpot until you provide enough evidence that your claim is correct. In order to maintain your position you have to refute lots and lots of popular myths about pot, and you have to bring up a lot of complex information about human biology, brain chemistry, sociology, criminal punishment, etc. And to top it off you have to explain how we got to a point where almost everybody believes those myths. Most people simply don't have the time or motivation to listen to somebody explain all this stuff. And even if they did, where would they get it from? The mainstream media aren't going to distribute this information to the public, because they don't get any money out of it. The media don't care about truth and objectivity, they are corporations and are ultimately concerned only with profit. And outside the media, well, how many of us are really going out and confronting people with this information?

another reason i believe that the goverment hates it is because if they release to the public that its not that evil kill taht will make you brain-dead, then they will also show that they spent trillions on the war on drugs, and they werent even fighting what was bad...they see it as a gateway drug, but in fact, many people go from being a good, happily married couple in the rich part of town...then try meth or something, bud is not the gateway drug...

When I was young I smoked to get stoned, now I smoke to ease the aches and pains of different ailments. The feds don't want it legal, because the drug companies can't put a patent on a plant. It all goes back to the Hearst family back in the early 1900's who was invested in paper mills that used trees for fiber. Hemp was cheaper and more renewable but to no avail. That is my two cents worth.
Most of us are just reapeating ourselves, even the ones who bothered to explain it all.

I was just in another forum I used to go to, and there was a post about some old lady being arrested for having a pot plant. I *gasp* said "maybe we should leave people the fuck alone for preferring a toke to a drink", and i just love how I got the instant retort "you idiot, they're doing something illegal. are you saying when somebody is purposely braking the law we should just let them go? that people can just break the law and get away with it? wow you're fucking stupid" :rolleyes: . that really pissed me off, not because of the personal attack, but because it made me realize how so many people are convinced of the "infallable" logic that if it's illegal it's wrong. no wonder society has so much trouble evolving.
People are inherently followers. Most people today are so stupid that they can't make their own decisions, so they need someone to make decisions for them.
