Who actually cares?

So i notice an infinite lack of motivation about this Marc Emery issue.. do you people actually know what's going on right now? It's hard to care about some seed distributer that's been in and out of police hands for years when the worst natural disaster to hit north america just finished rolling through, I know.

But you people need to realize the real issues and freedoms at stake here. Nobody cares about the seeds or the pot or the bongs, all that shit is trivial. This is about our Freedom as people, as Americans and Canadians. You all know this. You all have heard about the arguements about the war on drugs. You all have opinions of your own.
Tomorrow will be a very significant day. Wether you realize it or not. It will be the beginning of possibly the last struggle against the war on marijuana..but so few want to take part in this... why?

Please.. people.. it hurts me to have to say this, but get off your asses tomorrow... roll a joint.. and find the closest protest you can ... if there isn't one in your city.. or if it looks like it's just damn well impossible to make it, then shit...at least spark a joint for Marc.

However, if you ARE close enough to make it and just don't feel that your presence is required.. or needed. you're wrong. We need everyone and anyone that opposes to this invasion of rights.. invasion of privacy and invasion of our own god damn freedoms.

They can pump you full of cigarette smoke, and drown you in beer.. but they won't let you have that one little toke.

Fight for your Freedom.
Fight for your Rights.
But above anything,
Fight because you feel it.

whoever doesn't care about thier freedom, mind as well just do us all a favour and jump off the closest bridge.. because you're no good to society

Tommy Chong is in Toronto for the Film Festival, Got the pleasure of meeting him yesterday. watched an interview live in the THC store.

There's word he could show up to the Protest in Toronto .

Why is this getting such little response? is it because the issue has been beaten to death? you've heard it to much and are sick of it ? is that it?

That sucks.. i can understand that. It's probably not a big issue where you are either. The only place you've probably heard about it, has been online.
But surely that can't be the case for everyone.. i know for a fact there's a good % of canadian members on here

i live in england and to far away from london to go but i would if i could! It seems fucked up that they are getting life sentances for sendin seeds dam that is crap i will smoke a joint for them

you don't have to be near a protest to show your support. there are plenty of other ways...write your politicians and letters to your newspaper op/ed sections. send him $$$! he is in need of money just to cover his meager apartment and living expenses. cann dot com sent him a donation right after the news broke but he's in need of far more. this case may very well be the catalyst that points the feds towards a more enlightened thought process on the cannabis problem and the majority of you who just kick back in their chairs making snide remarks towards those genuinely interested in making a change will still benefit from it but can only make up stories to tell their children and grandchildren about their involvement in the cannabis revolution...and hate themselves for being such hypocrites.

protesting can prove useful. it brings the people together and your no longer fighting the problem alone. i'd like to get out on the busy streets and march around with my "fight for mary jane" sign, but i have obligations. i'll find the time somewhere to go out and protest - can't give up the fight!
