When i'm out and about (and usually stoned) I like to just watch people and draw my own conclusions about them based on what you see.
Alot of people are stressed out, they hurry around with a frown on their face, and pay no attention to their surroundings - if you nod to these people they usually won't notice you.
Some people are just mean or unfriendly, and if you nod to them they just give you a wierd look or frown at you.
Some people are nervous or anxious and will often nod back at you but in a uncomfortable, self-conscious kind of way.
And of course, some people are just nice, friendly people who will always nod back, or even say hi.
Me and a friend, when walking around stoned, used to say hi to literally everyone we walked passed, just to see how they would react. It still fascinates me that society has dictated that it's slightly odd to smile, nod or say hello to another person walking down the street, just because you don't know them. So I think for those of us who do nod to people, that there are some people who we will ignore because we know that to them, nodding at a stranger is weird, or that they won't like it.
