I WAS WATCHING SOME OF THE COVERAGE FROM NEW ORLEANS THE OTHER DAY AND WAS OBVIOUSLY HORRIFIED AT WHAT THOSE PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH.

ALL OF A SUDDEN, THEY STOPPED SHOWING PEOPLE AND BEGAN FOCUSING ON THE ANIMALS THAT NEED HELP.

IT MADE ME SO ANGRY SIMPLY BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE THAT NEED HELP AND THESE STUPID PETA MOTHERFUCKERS ARE GOING TO TELL ME THAT I NEED TO DONATE MONEY TO HELP ANIMALS ?!

The original poster is complaining about any focus on the animals though! Not about their relatives, but about any animal.
I'd personally go for a puppy than my grandma, if she's a grandma she has shit left to live anyway.
Animals to me are more valued than humans, humans cause pain & suffering all over the planet, animals however do not, & the only suffering an animal will experience (except the obvious like being eaten, which is just nature) will come from humans. We kill animals, we torture them & we make their lives a misery.

I contribute monthly to animal causes, no i'm not a hippy it was just the way i was brought up. I have compassion towards humans, but only the ones I care about, & innocents. You however, obviously don't have the capacity to do both.

I never said I didn't care about animals at all. I just care way more about humans than animals. Does that not make sense to you? And I do have the capacity to do both, I just don't believe animals and humans deserve the same amount of compassion at this time.

I have to agree that when it comes down to one or the other, people should certainly come first. I don't neccessarily subscribe to the "Fuck the Animals" plan though.

I do really feel for those people who are forced to leave their pets behind. Having grown up in a family that always had dogs I know they do become part of the family regardless of the fact that they are just an animal. For some of these people, especially those without a spouse or children, being forced to leave their pet behind is just as much a blow as being forced to leave a family member. It's just sad.
