Okay.. my friend is addicted to heroin, he says.. he has done it 4 times i think and just bought more.. i dotn want him to become a junkie.. is there anyway i can help him without him getting pissed at me? he keeps saying this is his last time but i know he'll keep on doing it.. ne suggestions?
Sounds like your mate is on the road to nowhere! If one of my close mates told me this shit i would tell him to keep the fuck out of my face for being weak and even contemplating dabbling with that shit, i would then proceed to kick seven colours of shite out of the thieving bastard (because that's what he'll become) which would hopefully result in him being hospitalised for several weeks which in turn would prevent him from dabbling any further with this evil shit.Whilst in Hospital he could seriously consider his actions. Then make it your business to attend the hospital everyday and batter his head about how much of an R soul he's been for messing with it in the first place.
P.S If he keeps it up lock your doors and windows and hide anything valuable because it will only be a matter of time before he starts thieving and mugging old people to feed his habit.

but seriously, heroine withdrawls arent pretty. have him stay wit you fer a couple days and keep him stoned. this will help the nausea and keep up good sperits. after a couple days hell start to fiend weed instead of heroin. get him to stop as soon as possible cause every mainline its harder to quit.

Well geof, your friend is hardly addicted to heroin having tried it 4 times although it certainly seems he could become addicted if he's not making any effort to regulate his usage.
There are lots of people who use heroin without getting addicted but I'd still say your friend is in danger.
Just explain to him your feelings and don't be afriad if you think it could ruin your friendship. Your friendship won't be worth shit if he becomed an addict so you've nothing to loose.
Educate yourself before you try to educate your mate, he won't listen to you if you don't know what you're saying and chat loads of BS. Remember that most people don't know shit about drugs (even people on these boards), erowid.org is a good place to start.

u mite sound like a loser for doin this but, tell somebody in his family or summit, and try stop him before he becomes hooked, i know what scag heads are like, all the junkies in my town are dodgy fuks and no body wants to know them, and my town has the largest number of drug addicts per capital in the country(UK) apparently so i have lots of encounters with these fuk ups!
my brother was addicted to heroin for a long time, but he got of it himself, IMO theres nothing u can do, its all up to your friend to quit

when there's serious trouble ahead, take serious action. i agree with king cola especially if you are in school yet go right to his parents. if your good enough friends fwith him then When he is clean he will realize that the "betrayal of trust" was nessisary(sp). if you are both adults then you should feel comfortable in talking to him. tell him he can crash at your place while he comes down. offer him all you can and if he don't listen then go talk to his family. he is the one who admitted the problem to you he's asking for your help and support. he may hate for a while if you can get him help but it won't be long because when he gets back to normal you can catch up with him and say well you told me about it and i got worried if you whadn't been worried yourself you wouldn't have told me.

Aye, its a sad state of affairs in the toon at the minute, every time you turn around there's some pastey faced junkie weighing up someone to mug or something to steal and i know its boiling my piss and everyone else i talk too. Theres only one thing these scumbags understand and thats a severe beating but it still doesn't stop them doing it again, the need for the brown is to much and they'll stop at nothing to get their fix.

In my opinion, I don't think that smackheads are the 'scum of the earth' or anything like that. The way I see it, we are allowed to try anything (aside from avoiding getting caught by pigz!) but we gotta be willing to accept the concequences too. If they fuck they're body up, it's their fault and can';t blame anyone else, but this kinda thing applies to any drug you try. I ain't tryin' to justify the usage of smack, but obviously it';s there for a reason like everything. But people like to use it for fun. But we all know that heroin contains morphine (or if not always, it usually does) which makes it the ULTIMATE PAIN KILLER in my opinion. Sure, it will wear off and can leave some people feelin' like shit afterwards. The shitty feelin' of coming down is one of the short term consequences. Addiction and goin nuts from not having your fix is the long term consequences.
I've know a few ex smackheads and once they come off that shit, you begin to notice the real person again.
As for people hooked on smack, it's down to them not to go thieving from friends or shops, but I gotta admit I don't know anyone who hasn't done this. It's this kinda thing that makes them bad in my opinion - how they handle they're addiction.
One of my mates used to be a scaghead. She robbed from shops, sold people's car tires and sold 'em to garages and shit like dat, but she NEVER stole from her friends.
In that kinda situation, I wouldn't really give a shit what she did as long as she wasn't robbing from me or my mates, coz the worlds too small to give a fuck about the small shit like this. I don;t mean that in a selfish kinda way, I'm just implying that I don't feel affected in anyway.
It if was mugging, then I would feel pretty disgusted! There's something about those arseholes that pissed me off.
I knew some dude who is also a scaghead. He was always tryin' to pull stunts for a fix.
He was always hassling me and my mates to lend him money. One of my mates let him take advantage of him and lent it to him and never got it back. I knew not to fall for that. He's also a pothead and when given the opportunity, tried to insist on sorting his mates out with dope but either spends the other half of the cash on a fix, or keeps the other half of the dope and rips 'em off.
I nearly fell into this trap of his by givin him some cash for some hash, but luckily all his dealers were outta stock. I was kinda weary that he might try and rip me off or run off with the cash but he didn't - he said he couldn't find any weed and gave it back. I was worried he might have ran off with my cash. He might have avoided this because he had his fix that night though. But the way he was constantly hassling his mates for money, it started to look real pathetic. He has a good side to him as far as I can tell, but it's how he handles his addiction that changes his personality.
If some scaghead was to pin up every night but never stole to fuel his habit, then I wouldn't see him as a bad person, but a lot of you guys had some real good points about thid topic too.
Personally, I'd never touch the stuff, but at the same time I can't knock it 'till I've tried it as I don;t know enough to judge it.

I lost my best friend, one of the best people I've ever known, to heroin addiction. He lost his job and his wife moved out and took their son. The last time I saw him I had gone over to his house and he was there with a bunch of other junkies. He was a totally different person . He was saying that he had no money for food or the rent. I was going to loan him a few hundred when somebody showed up and sold him some more heroin. Seems he did have some money but only for the Important stuff. A few days later I tried to call him but the number was disconnected and when I went by his house he was gone. That was 6 years ago and I haven't seen him since. Neither have any of our other non-junkie friends.
My big mistake was that I didn't do anything. I took his word when he said he had it under control and always assumed that his wife would whip him into shape.

Whatever reason you giv, for or against, anything, is gonna mean shit when you have NO experience whatsoever in that field, and I aint talking about I knew a man of a man, who was nice and then went crazy, I'm talkin the actual drug user, you have no idea why he's using it, what he likes about it etc etc. Instead of taking drastic action and flipping out like its something big, which will add added anxiety to his personality, sit down and chat with ure mate about it, u don't know shit about heroin, ure mate didn't tell you because he's worried, he told you because its a new experience, and friends talk to eachother about the shit they do, good or bad, to gain new perspectives, and I'm pretty sure the media have covered the 'Drugs turn every1 cuckoo!!' approach, so you doing that is just gonna make him think the fuckin world hasn't got a clue, since he can't even talk to his own friend about such shit, without a stereotype being banged in.
If anybody, uses any substance, solely for escapism from the mundane, and for fun, they're gonna get fucked, cuz as the title of abuse suggests, they were already bored with life anyway, now they have something which doesn't change there life in any way, shape or form, but taps in to something that makes them feel great for a little while about nothing in particular, and its on tap, ye man, u can get that feeling whenever u want it, thought life was shit? Shoot up! and within a matter of seconds they feel gr8.
If he is just dabbling because he likes to experience new things, then he aint no different from when people go from weed to shrooms and acid, but obviously, they're an entire different kettle of fish (the effects saught, not the people), but every1 has different preferences, and don't enjoy the endless rambling of thoughts, but instead they like to just sit down, and go 'AAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!', but yeh it is addictive, and also taking ecstasy can dehydrate and kill you, but I've been a few pill sessions with nothing but beer, and woah!!! look at me!!! I'm alive!!! and I've got all my spinal fluid! Its almost like they're trying to scare you, by telling you half the truth.
Best advice I can give you is to take none of these people's advice when they point you in a particular direction, because they don't know ure friend, you do, so you judge it, not every who has a drink, turns out to become an alcoholic, yet sum people, including those who have tried other drugs, become addicted to alcohol and end up in an equally horrifying state as the dirty smackrat, roaming train platforms, looking for dogends, spare change, and easy money.........and you wanna know the strangest thing of all.....this is gonna shock ya!
Not all muggers are drug addicts, stealing for there next fix, some are just cunts without chemical persuasion.
Not all people who wind up in a box, are drug addicts, who lost there home to drugs, then there wife and kids, and also there money.....and there cat.
Not all homeless people are saddened by there current situation, sum actually opt to be homeless (very few, but its an example of how u can't use a general idea to accurately predict the outlook of an individual, especially when it involves the making of decisive action over something which, in the end, isn't ure problem, but ure act of intervention will drastically change ure mates current situation, making a very big problem for him i.e. imagine the way his parents will treat him, not just now, when they initially find out, but for the rest of his life)
I can't believe people, who get so pissed off about racism, or meth heads, or smackheads, turn around, and advocate the shunning of sumbody cuz they are doing sumthing to themselves for themselves, they're not even hurting anybody. If you believe that taking smack, or any other addictive drug off the streets is going to wipe out crime, I think you need to look a little deeper in to the eyes of the mugger, cuz I don't see the eyes of an innocent glistening behind a veil of drug addiction.
