I was just wonder how many people here are Rastafari? I'm fairly new to this fascinating religion and I'm looking for others who share this in common with myself. Remember: Reject Babylonian Hypocrisy!

i know what you mean you would think that almost everyone on here would be rasta but i most rastas don't value material posession:rasta: :rasta: :rasta: :rasta:
I think it's pretty kooky actually. But if you're that into the fringe benefit of smoking herb I guess it could be cool.
Kinda like becoming catholic for the sip of wine and the tasty cracker every week.
lol! I did not even know rasta was a religion. What are their beliefs? What if im rasta and don't even know it??
what the fuck is rastafarianismbabalyonianszip? I cant even spell it man.
yah im white so that kind of is a major minus in being a rastafari i hate when people wear hella rasta colors and they dont know anything
if u want to learn more i strongly advise reading catch a fire the life of bob marley
hella good
love and prosperity JaH-RaStAfA-AYEeE :D
not rastafarianism... no ism's in rastafari
I've read up on on the Rastafari ways. When I first started getting into the Marley family about a year and a half ago, I read up on all that stuff. I did a presentation on it, before. I don't know, my friends say I'm probably the only person that was in my school that had a right to wear Bob Marley shirts or the Ethiopian (Rastafari) colors.
I think it's a really interesting religion. Then again, I'm into theology.
rastafari i find is a very good "religion" (if u can call it that)
save for alot of the racism that goes on in it (which i guess is somewat part of it), but initself it teaches love of all so there shouldnt be racism
Rastafari is beautifull, praise Jah for InI sons and Empress who gave them to me. I love Ras Tafari, H.I.M Haile Selassie I RASTAFARI!
Read up, live up, and grows your locks long, pay no mind to the babylon mindset, no followers of a greedy system that prospers off of death, illness and material gain will never sway InI faith. Governments pad their pockets with profits on tobacco, alcohol and guns, all of wich cause death and illness, FIYA PON DEM!
Ok, gots to go get some herb to pack my chillum ;)

The only love thats righteous is the love of Jah. I think its an interesting and good teaching in order to live a peaceful and harmonious life with your surroundings, do rastafarians believe in anything similar to nirvana or enlightenment ?

o and i wish i wouldnt have said "religion (if u can call it that)" because i now see how that can be offensive, and i am deeply sorry if anyone was, what i meant by that was more of a way of life as opposed to a religion
all i know about rastas is that its illegal to sell weed within their community, but then agen, i dont know that at all,
In foundation Rastafai is christian based pratice/religion, a close off sprout of African Orthodox Church which was founded by Marcus Garvey in the early 1920s(Ras Tafari followed the teachings of Marcus Garvey, a Jamacian native and well educated african who preached africa for african, and a important figure in rastafari).Quote:

Nirvana and reincarnation might even be considered occult and pagan belief which rasta shuns, because with the idea of Nirvana is we live life after life untill we do away with the source of our rebirth and enter into nirvana. In Christian beliefs if we enter into heaven, on Judement day we will be reborn with him or something to that tune.
ok I'll just stop typing, just blazed a session and feeling a bit too philosophical, running off with my thoughts..

This is my reasoning so try to follow, may jump around some, these are just thoughts, and throw back at me anything you think or reaction.
I live in the US, am of German ancestry, and have white skin, and dreadlocks to my shoulders. I praise the Most High, Jah, Rastafari, and I know if InI live life praising Jah, trod onto my way to Zion is the only way, to praise Jah and Rastafari for me is the only way. Some heathen may say, white skin nahh Razztah, but When I walk on the street and come across rasta , them always salute cause they know when they see me I have Jah love in my heart, and that is all that matters to me. To love Jah and Rastafari brings purity to my soul and I can do no wrong.
In rasta, expecially the bob ashanti , they are very serious about african black skinned man and repartriation to africa. Every Black man has every right to take pride ina the color of their skin. Blackness is purity, black woman and man come from Africa, black people come from Ethiopia, the earliest human remains came from Ethiopia. think about this, the fathers and mothers of mankind were black man and woman. Jesus had hair of wool, so many biblical figures wore their hair in locks too.Ebony skinned peoples suffered great atrocities at the hand of the babylonian society, enslaved, sent to war so on and so on and have every right to be hurt, but to hate another because they are white, black, asian, latino is not the way. It is counter productive, and defeating to the purpose of religion and education to be prejudice to another man of a different race. Some less educated, and in fact ignorant may lean torwards what literally is racism, when the real enemy is the babylonian infringment that try to control and govern our lives. TO dem InI say, break away the chains and praise Jah InI!Quote:
Leviticus 21:5 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.
Hatred is not the way, only love can cleanse our souls.
Ok, my son demans some attention,
give thanks, I am so happy
I'm not really a Rastafari but I admire their ways. I would convert if I knew all about it but I dont..only about the marijuana part :(.
Hate to say this to anyone, but I'm afraid that I must.
Red Locks you sound like a fucking prick. Why are you trying to speak in that faux Jamacian accent? You live in the USA, not Kingston. If you could maybe manage to write in English rather than patois I might not find you to be so ridiculous. You haven't explained one thing about what your "religion" means. Just a load of nonsense about Babylon. I ownder if you have the first idea of just how ridiculous you sound? That goes for anyone else using words like "mon" and "ting". Don't be ashamed of who you are, be yourself.
Ohh I can feel the love  First of all, I was not speaking, I was typing, written words, second of all, I wrote in perfect coherant English with a like 1 Iyaric word and few phoentically written words for fun here and there. I am sorry you feel that way and all you managed to read was "something about Babylon" Truefully, I asked for a reaction, and unfortunately this is all you could muster. Negativity won't get you anywhere. I love life and Jah, it is a beautiful thing. Seriously, ya got issues man.Quote:

Also, why do you feel the need to use patois when you are speaking or writing? For fun you say. I say different. I say you are using them in an attempt to sound like a Rastafarian, which is a ridiculous thing to do. Be yourself "mon" and people might stop laughing at you. You are not a black man, stop wishing you were.
Ohh so sorry my spelling is not up to par with your standards :D if ya go through everythign I said there is prolly about 100 misspelled words, just not good at spelling but maybe I would have done a spellcheck had I known the grammar police were here. And there is no patois anywhere in anythign I said, I don't type slang, expecially slang from part of the world unless you count the internet slang, and god forbid I use internet slang on a forum! Keep trying kid, ya dun like me and I don't care, you're trash! Ya follow? prolly not....Quote:

You have no idea how stupid you sound.
You are not a Rastafarian, you are not black, stop trying to sound like one.
Find your own culture and be proud of it, don't try and ape others.
There's nothing wrong with liking the music, or even the lifestyle. But when you adopt the words of others you sound like a fool.
That's all.
I have been monitering your conversation and have to ask you why you continue to put him down constantly after he replies so kindly to explain his ways!? I see nothing wrong with the way he types (the spelling may be a little off... please don't tell me that bothers you :p ). Leave the guy alone.Quote:

I'm allowed to criticise as I see fit.
A white American, of German descent, speaking and acting like a black rastafarian.
There is much to criticise.
You seem to be unable to point out where I act like I am a black, I am starting to feel a little bad for you, ya ok man? I stated the color of my skin, and where my family comes from, because that is who I am and in response to another poster. I am proud of who I am, just as any man or woman of any ethnic background should be. I love in Jah and the Bible, as I was raised to do, and this makes me happy. Like I said, I know you don't like me, and it doesn't bother me!
Still giving thanks
Sounds like someone on this thread could use a group hug :(
What are you talking about you kook? Unless you can give an example of how he types in a "black accent" thenI advise you to not continue posting in this thread, not that there's anything I can do over the internet about it, but I feel somewhat responsible for saving you from what looks to be a possible menally retarded state somewhere in the near future.Quote:

How about the above (as one example of many) for evidence of Redlocks trying to sound like a black rastafarian?
The evidence is there if you want to look for it. I'm not about to produce endless quotes for anyone. It's not that I don't like you Redlocks, I just think you sound like a prick with your faux Jamaican accent. Do you really loathe yourself that much that you wish to be someone else. For example, I like Jazz and Soul. It doesn't mean I have to talk or write like Dizzy Gillespie or James Brown.
It's pretty simple when you think about it. Please don't make me explain it all again for you.
I think that statment applies to you more than it does to Redlocks. The fact that you felt so strongly about what he was saying, even though it didn't apply to you an any way, baffles me. Why do you find the need to point out "flaws" in other people? Even if he is acting like a fool, in the end he is no more wrong than you are. Your continued attacks on him make me believe that you are a pretentious know-it-all with something to prove. If you truly knew as much as you try to pull off you would realize that your comments in this thread are useless and a waste of cyber space. Nothing personal, but when I see people causing problems for no real reason I get a little testy.Quote:

It's a discussion board, we are allowed to make posts which contain opinions.
Just like the one you just made.
You got one thing right, I am a know it all.
Good that you noticed that much at least.
ohh ya got me there, there's that pesky phoentic spelling I spoke of! (dem) as far as the rest, "Jah"(Yah purnounced Jah) is a hebrew word, not a black word and . and to Quote E. E. Cashmore: "I and I is an expression to totalize the concept of oneness, the oneness of two persons. So God is within all of us and we're one people in fact.
I apologize if I confused you, I know philosphy is hard for some to follow, or made you feel threatened to the point you felt it neccesary to lash out with curses.
Yes, philosophy is hard for some to follow. Let me know when you are going to be doing some and I'll see if I can keep up.
I realise you may be more complicated than Hegel, or Kant. But please, be patient with me.
I am
Ok, let me know when you are going to be doing this philosophy thing.
I've got my pencil ready, I'll take notes and stuff.
Growl, I just threw that in to hold my place in the post, ended up typing longer than I had intended and it would not allow me to update the edit, here is the rest of my previous post----
Sorry wanted to see what you would come back with but that was slick. My last remark was just in good fun, I enjoy your criticism despite the virility of some remarks and the ill concieved notions about who I am. When people bring strife around here there is a saying "you don't know me" We all have a path to follow, I'll go on mine and deflect what ever comes my way, there are things we must all overcome. Like i said, not trying to speak as somone I am not, and not speaking in a poorly spoken for of slang english such as patois. There are a few key terms that mean alot and are intentionall alterations of standard english, not a form of slang. I type in plain written english as i said in a earlier post, I could type the way i speak in real life with nothing but phoentic spellings of how people in my area speak, but what would the point in that be, none. I say praise Jah InI, and that means alot because of what those 2 simple terms mean.
