Warning: You are all blindly enmeshed into an artifically constructed dynamic society
Ah lets get philosphical. In a desperate effort to draw us all away from the lame, irrelevant posts, let's take a good look at solid intellectual, constructive criticism on society;that deviation of the norm. When I have a little good Marijuana, I always get very philosphical about things around me..after all who doesnt? I made some exciting relevations, conscious-awakening prospections if that will define my contemplation. Standing at the ocean, I saw the sun revolve about me, the abstracted clouds being pushed by the winds into some astronomical puzzle like view, I saw the tides, the waves, the great airs, the atmosphere protecting us from harm, the atoms of life upon me..everything about me just striked me in awe of my sourroundings. We live in a life-filled planet... Look at the universe, all of the other planets are dead. I love all that is beautiful and lofty, the aesthitics of nature are striking as they are mystifying.
Now..look around you as you read this topic. What do you see? A computer in front of you, a table, a tv somewhere, clothes on your back. Now look inside your mind. What do you see?
You see culturally-enmeshed ideas, you see everything that you have been programmed into you during your life. You see values;right and wrong. You see moral idealism;helping the weaker, being polite. You see religion;faith in god, in the afterlife. You see love;attraction to a certain specie, a beautiful girl, sex, happiness. All of these manifestations you see in your head, are artifically programmed insertions you have received. We humans absorb things profoundly due to our intellectual powers. We absorb junk. Our absorption of such societal-norm values is the absorption of sheer poison that blinds us of our primitive-instincts.
Deep inside our brain are repressed instincts;domination, murder, rape, hate, jealousy. We hide our instincts under the guise of being a conforming "Normal" person. What do you define "normal" as? Somebody who obeys laws? Somebody who is religious? Somebody who is kind? It's all interpretation of what is real and what is not. We are not unique, as long as we continue to follow artifically governed laws, as long as we play "kind person", as long as we flock within the herd of the sheep. No..see, that's where we are part of the crowd. Would it be good to live 1 day as a predator tiger, devouring it's prey with fury, or 100 days as a sheep, and grow old, and die insignificent? I am tired of values, moral, and most of all, I am tired of society.
I am tired of eating human-made food. I am tired of wearing clothes with labels on my back. I am tired of living in this artifical modernized world. I want to run amok in the wildlife, I want to devour what I can. I want to exercise supreme dominion over everything. I want to do what I want to do. Simple as that. Will the sheep of the herd enforcer police and politicans scare me away to stay in "check" with the herd? NO. I admire criminals. They stay out of the boundaries of the law to do what they want to. That amazes me. In conclusion, Nihilism, defines what I have said. counterorder.com will be a good place to check it out. Google Nihilism too. Learn more about this idealogy.

Dude... your posting to a bunch of stoned ass mofos! Did you expect some sort of intelligent discussion? lol 'cause I don't think this is the place for it... I meen, it can be but it'll also be smattered with random stupidity!
I'm just to stoned to read that all that btw. :P

Muggles you make an excellent point. I had an assumption that when you get stoned, you get philosphical? I guess everybody doesnt get philosphical when they toke up. Oh well, must be a gift for me heh. Remember...when your stoned, you are on an altered level of consciousness, your wavelength is altered to the point of shifted perspective-ness. You have full control of your brain...you can either act all stupid stoned, or you can command your brain to get on an actual-based intelligent channel of thinking. You understand me?

Jesus I follow your thinking and have written many pages along that path.
I love to explore the reaches of the mind that most fear to acknowledge because they lack control to remain dominant over their urges. Our 'reality' forces us to shun these thoughts but I say embrace them and own them they ARE us. People will never know themselves as long as they refuse to confront the things they hide inside. Most people will deny what they are to be 'normal' and 'safe' but we all know who we really are.
Its a carefully constructed illusion we live in and it depends upon our blindness to remain stable enough to fool us into being blind enough not to see it for what it really is. Its all words. Real life lives in the spaces betwee words and in the silences between our thoughts. I know who I am and I know who I can become. And, I know who I ignore to keep playing this game we all play. Some games need players, some players need games. Some know that they ARE the game.
I play along only as much as I need to and can stand to play.
I hold tight to my character so I can cope with what we have on our plate and swallow it everyday. Its a necessary sacrifice. I buy into the game and convince myself I can tolerate it to avoid friction and all that comes with being outside the game.
Fundamentally, I am a player who sees beyond the game but continues to smear myself with the filth of the machine so I can try to forget my own slavery. There is no way out, so I dont try to break free physically. I have my 'responsibilities' and I function quite well considering. But I long to be free of these chains as much as you. But, some of the debravity you mention just isnt my style. The program has been written and it runs 24/7. The occasional self made virus gives me relief but soon enough it is cleaned from my system and I carry on.
In my mind I am free from it all but physically I am , and always will be , a slave.
I understand those who explore it within their minds but to act it out is another thing.
I'd love to get into chat with you sometime but tonight is not the night.
Hopefully sometime we can debate this. I love a good existential debate.
Just tonight isnt the night.
peace.

Sounds alot like Jean-Jacques Rousseau to me. I like Fredreich Nietzsche, but if I recall he was not very fond of Nihilists. I read alot of philosophy over the past summer break.
Usually I smoke just to think. I can uncover more thoughts in a shorter time, and discard more 'conscious' thoughts. You can learn alot by uprooting things you already know from your unconscious. Interesting subject anyways...

Funky Monkey-Your thoughts are well in proportion to mine. We have similar beliefs. If I may ask you, how and when did you acquire that conscious-awakening philosophical belief? Nietzsche perhaps? I have had this belief all my life, as I started out ridiculing toys and playtime that the other babies loved, and the basis of my belief matured into an intellectual core of Nihilism. We are all born with a certain belief of something, and our beliefs gradually graduate into more sophiscated evolution. As you said funky Monkey, we in the mind are free by the virtues of our belief, but we physically, are strangled in bonds and chained, in which we were strapped onto since birth. Marijuana liberates the mind, and that is exactly what we are trying to do...liberate the mind, free the spirits, and be in harmony with this earth. Please dont mistake me for Buddhism, I am in antagonism to that moralistic religion of decadence. Funky Monkey, please e-mail me when you have a chance to, and we can further this existential-based philosphical discussion. I look forward to talking with you more. Later everybody, and keep your mind free of all moralistic dogma!

I do sometimes. I'll just think and think and think. But the minds at this board are young still, as philosophy doesn't interest their minds quite yet, that is all. I am in no means mocking you, but some here...that stuff is too deep for them to care or understand. Peace

Warning: You are all blindly enmeshed into an artifically constructed dynamic society
Jesus in answer to your question...my current mindset is one I have had since I can remember. I was subjected to a lot of bullshit at a young age that forced me to internalize myself and spent countless hours on reflection. I came to the early realisation that what is within the mind is closer to reality than what is outside it.
I did not grow up feeling the world outside my head was a safe place so I did not buy into the beliefs that most others did. I found that within the mind there is total freedom, no rules and restrictions, and no reason to shun thoughts that would comfort me. I grew to depend upon myself and my silences to help me cope with the shit outside my mind. By the time I had grown and started to grow outside my mind I was firmly enmeshed in a reality not like the one poeple are forced to conform to.I had a certain degree of distance from it.
I explored my mind to the extent that I was one with it and did not fear it. The various levels of consciousness, and what I found there, were my teachers and my companions. I had friends outside my head, hehe dont get me wrong there. I am just saying that I have always listened to and respected the wisdom that came from altered perception. I filed my info away differently and accessed it differently. I became aware of abilities and gifts beyond physical constraints and I cherished them. I retreated there when necessary and grew to have a distaste for the comformity that forces people to turn their backs on their true selves. I did not want to spend my life chasing someone elses dreams and fulfilling someone elses goals. I was cynical. I was also in some way naive because 'resistance is futile' and we must all conform or be forced into tighter restraints and supervision.
I had to learn how to play the game without revealing what I held inside.
I became manipulative and calculating, and in this retained a seperation from owning the commonly held perceptions and misconceptions that make the machine run.
I became the dirt within the machine. I was in it , I was part of it, but I was still seperate from it.
I reached a point of decision. Which side of this mayhem would I call my home.
I could have easily fell into a life that we call depraved yet I chose the opposite and grew into that role. But I never left behind the perceptions that could have fed me in grwoing the opposite direction. I kept it all and formed a relationship of dominance over it. I am the master of my own internal rages and suffering and I decide how tightly to chain them up.
I obsorbed as much information about it as I could in order to better understand it and my place in it. And , I learned how to look like , and act like , the rest of the gears that turned.
I hate this system , I have a burning desire to see it fall but at the same time my level of connection to it forces me to feel my part in it and to protect this part like my own child because without it we have no structure to replece it. I want and need this structure for my children to live under until they know of a better way. I have an investment in its survival and so I protect it despite my despising it. I need it.
But within my mind the gears of a different machine grind away night and day.
I know who I am and I feel free in this knowledge.
I could go on and on but perhaps the rest is best for more private communications.
Peace.

Jesus; Just keep your idea dynamic. By stuffing yourself into one mode of thought, one philosophical idea, one "label" ((nihilist)), you restrict your thoughts from evolving. They end up like a broken record that no matter what you do can't change the totality of society. You sound like you have an interesting brain. If you stuff it into one idea that you'll never convince the world of, you end up preventing change instead of promoting it.
You can admire criminals, but most don't have the thought pattern you're giving them credit for. Most are just sheep of a different breed, just as any follower of any particular pre-created idea is.
Don't confuse yourself into thinking that simply because you're different from the majority, that that qualifies you as different. We've all got unique pieces, whether you've got more or less is of little matter. You can't be a predator. There's no place for life carnivore's anymore. And no matter how hard you try, I can't see an opening to be one. You can be a black sheep, but you're still a sheep, just a bad one.
Maybe I just spoke completely randomly, but that's how I feel about your post and since you only got feedback from one person, I figured I'd give you another person's.

PS - Sorry to double post, but have you taken any college level sociology/psychology/social-psychology classes? Alot of the stuff you said are recognized by psychology. Social norms, the illusion, etc. But it's talked about in less of a conspiracy manner. Deviance, norms, values, etc. People write books on it. And even my book from my first college psychology class has a couple chapters on it.
The illusion you speak of is pretty much just culture. If you moved the illusion would be a little different in it's basic appearance ((maybe people eat their babies on the island you visit)) but there's still the illusion. Because that illusion is just what most people agree to. Most people only agree to the norms to a certain degree and deviate in minor ways. Blah blah bllaaahhhhhh. Anyway, it's hardly an illusion though when everyone agrees to it. It's more of just accepted reality. ((Maybe there were certain innovators to individual parts of the illusion, but the population took that part and accepted it.))

There is no such thing as a black sheep in the realms of my imagination. It's either you are a sheep, or you aren't. No colors here. And yes, there is a place for carnivores, predators, and tigers, call them as you like, and that place is within those who refuse to obey man-made laws, the "criminal" if you will. Serial killers, mass murderers, spree killers, dictators, and breeds of any killing class are the tigers that roam the countryside. Sure every criminal doesnt have a philisophy to back up his actions, usually his actions are those reinforcing the self-survival predatory instinct;the drive for money, lust, and power. These are the instincts the sheeps repress. These are the instincts the criminal tigers reinforce. What do you call a tiger that suppresses his predatory instincts? Extinct. What do you call a sheep that disobeys man's laws? Extinct. There's no such thing as the latter aforementioned. I admire criminals for their ability to reinforce such predatory, animal-like instincts, as we all have, but unfortunately repress as we are kept in constant check of the sheep herd-lined society backed up via the law enforcement agencies, the military, and the order of law. Sure criminals are not born "conscious", making them the predator, the strong. Remember, the strong survive, the weak perish according to the theory of natural selection. Books I recommend you read

Natural selection-Charles Darwin
Antichrist-Friedrich Nietzsche
Gates of Janus-Ian Brady

Also if you are interested in the hehaviors of the criminals read books on serial killers. Albert Fish was an interestin character, as he didnt recognize the boundaries of moralistic dogma, and did things the way he wanted to. He went as far as to commit supposedly "vile" acts such as Coprophagy, Urophagy, Cannabilism, sadistic-masochistic intentions, and a vast array of other supposedly bizarre behaviors that society recognizes as "evil". Sure, we are physically trapped, as we are all forced to adhere to society's laws, or else, prison time. We can, however, liberate the mind.

Regarding the original post:
I can see what your saying. Matter of fact I made almost exactly the same thread a while ago shortly after I started toking. I think thoughts like this can kinda creep up on broad minded people once you start smoking weed. I'm kinda glad I read this, I feel exactly the same about the world and hate thinking about how human beings have totally fucked it up. :)
But to be honest, I wouldn't regard society as a poison to humans. We are blessed with the intelligence to question our existence and with that intelligence comes the ability to create civilisation. It's a gift, not a curse. I think it's incredible what mankind has achieved as the only intelligent creatures on Earth. Try to forget the war, radioactivity, pollution and industrialisation and focus on the art, the music and the architecture. You might feel we are trapped by society but it is a small price to pay for the intelligence that we as humans are born with. We understand that without society, there is only confusion and chaos. You may not like what society has become (I don't either) but as long as you can look beyond the material possessions, celebrities and mankinds discontent despite being spoilt for choice, you can still find beauty in the world and appreciate it for what it is. I'd congratulate yourself for that ability :D !
Thanks for bringing a deep discussion here when I was about to give up hope. :)
Oh, and I don't admire criminals. They commit crimes for their own benefit without regard for anyone else. They arn't making a statement, they're just twats :D !

I totally agree that nearly all of what we percieve to be "normal" is only "normal" in that it is what we have been taught by others who have been taught by other who have been taught by others, etc. Religion and the belief in God is a perfect example of this concept. There is no scientific proof that God exists. In fact there is very little, scientific or not, to support the existance of God at all. I was not taught this and not brought up in a religous household and the whole concept of belief in a God really baffles me. Yet billions of people believe in God, what ever they may call him. Why, because it is what they have been taught from the time they were born.
I do, however, believe that emotions like love and compassion as well as basic decency are inherent to human beings. "Domination, murder, rape" are not "repressed instincts" those that call them that only do so to justify what they have done or wish to do. It may be instint to want to breed with as many females as possible. It is not instinct to rape them if they are unwilling, however.
Humans are not the only ones with rules, laws, and societal structures. These are common traits in animals all the way down to bees and ants. Horny lions don't just go around fucking any lioness they want, as with most mammals it is the female lion who determines wheher or not she mates with the male. Of course the male lion is bigger and more powerful and could probably "rape" the female if he wanted to but there is something deep down, whether instict or something more, that keeps him in line. Yes, survival of the fittest does apply here and it is the strongest male who is the leader of the pride but this is still within the confines of lion "society".
Frankly, Toking with Jesus, I find some of what you say to be more than a bit disturbing. Kind of like what they find in the journals of some guy who's got their neighbor's bits and pieces neatly organized in the freezer. Hopefully it's just the ramblings of someone who's smoked way too much weed. If not, I'll watch for you on the morning news.

Tomorrows headlines = 'Cannabis smoking teen arrested for murder of entire neighbourhood. "It was my animal instincts!"'

Warning: You are all blindly enmeshed into an artifically constructed dynamic society
I am very glad to see some fellow Cannabis users agree with me. I am glad to reveal this philosophical belief that I have revealed to you, straight from my heart in what I truly believe in. Fengzi, I see you disagree with some of my beliefs, let me give you an example of this. You say that Domination, desire for power, murder, rape and greed are not repressed instincts? The desire for rape is not within the boundaries of the instincts?
Let me ask you this...surely, we have all came across many beautiful looking females in our life. Did we look at these beautiful females in a sexual, deviant way? Did we admire their beautiful, round, curvy delicate butt and legs? Im sure the majority of us have. Now, when you looked at her..did you have any "thoughts" about her? perhaps using your imagination to fill in the missing gaps that her clothes are covering, her private parts? Did you think about fucking her....HARD ? Did you ever want to just "possess" a female to yourself? Please be honest when you answer this question. There is nothing wrong with the truth. Fear not! Anybody with a decent amount of testosterone will say yes. Well, we are all constantly plaqued by such "sinful" forbidden thoughts..things we can think about..but will never dare do. The instinct of sexuality, is the most repressed, most suppressed, and most ignored instinct among man. We want to fuck these girls...but we wont in fear of retribution and law-enforcement. Look at Africa for example...rapes are happening right in the streets, right on the open. Why? Because there is no society over there. Look at how the people in the remotest terrain of deep Africa behave. They are Cannibals, killers, rapists, and savages. They are not trained by society, only by their ego.
Another good example of repressed instincts of violence, power, and hate that is common among us. Do you ever think about revenge? Perhaps a guy cheated on your girlfriend, and took her away from you? In the deepest realms of your imagination, Did you ever want to murder him in cold blood? Did you ever play these fantasy scenerios in your head in anger? And last, did you ever DO what you WANTED to DO? If you didnt, you are repressing your instinct. A tiger who has been "cheated" on his mate, will by all means, kill the male on the spot. Sexual selection then comes into play. ANimal fights between two males occur. The strong wins, and therefore passes on his glory and power onto the next generation, the weak perish forever. I believe in chaos over order. I believe there is no good thing about society. Im sorry if my philisophy hurts you, it is the bare truth. It is what lies deep inside our repressed subconscious.
Marijuana is about releasing these feelings and exposing yourself to it. Marijuana is about healing, regeneration, and power. Marijuana exposes the truth..the contents that are jarred deep inside your head are released forth in trains of thoughts. Next time you toke up, explore your mind, explore your forbidden carnal desires, explore deep inside your mind. If you are smoking powerful enough Marijuana, you WILL be exposed such feelings I was telling you about.

Warning: You are all blindly enmeshed into an artifically constructed dynamic society
Yes, I am guilty. I am a happily married man but every time I see a really beautiful woman I have the deisre to have sex with her. That desire is based on the instinct to procreate and I can't deny that. But what I desire is good hot sex, not fucking some woman against her will while she is crying and begging me to stop. There is quite a difference. And I will not for one minute belive that it is because socciety has trained me that way. I will certainly agree that it is society that tells us we should only have sex with one person. But it is decency and compassion for others, which is part of our being, society or not, that prevents us from raping women against their will.
As for your statement about rape in Africa, I have no knowledge about this one way or another so I will refrain from commenting. What I do know is that there is a tribe of people in Papua New Guinea who are essentially sex freaks. They start having sex when they are young children, have many partners, will have sex anytime, anywhere, in private, public, doesn't matter. There is almost no instances of rape, however, as having sex with an unwilling partner is strictly taboo. So, while these people certainly are giving in to their instinctual desires for sex there is something that prevents them from just taking it. Oddly enough unwanted pregnancy and stds are also pretty much unknown to these people. Seems they know some secret we don't.
As far as revenge is concerned, sure, we have all felt the desire for it. And I, like many others, have acted out on this. But what is this based on? I agree that it is instinct. But my guess is that it is based on the instinct of self preservation. Way back when, if some one eye brow having neanderthal came and stole your wooly mammoth burger you'd go and club the mother fucker and take it back. Not because you wanted to hurt the guy, but because you wanted to eat. it was self preservation. Now if someone comes along and steals my whopper, yeah. I'll probably pop him in the jaw and take it back. Sure, I could just go and buy another one but that old instinct kicks in. But again, the instinct is one of survival, not of a desire for violence.
So, I still definitely disagree that we have an instinct for violence, an instinct to harm others and take what we want. We have an instinct for survival, that's all. Like most animals, we band together in groups to facilitate this survival. And, like most animals, we have rules, some clearly laid out and others unspoken, that define how we act in these groups. As such, it would stand to reason that it is instinct that leads us to form societies and form the laws that goven these societies. Makes sense, doesn't it?
-
Warning: You are all blindly enmeshed into an artifically constructed dynamic society
In order to judge ourselves, we must judge others. Do a goggle search on rape in Africa, and you will see plentiful results pertaining to rape in Africa. You say we are born compassionate but society has made us the hateful, spiteful creatures that we are? I say the contrary of what you've said! We are born hateful, spiteful creatures, but society conditions us into objects of enforced falsified moralistic dogma imposed upon us via mind control via the TV, schools, being raised, culture, religion, and whatever else serves as the link between the the communication of the individual and society. Society forces flawed, man-made, artifically dynamic values upon us. We are constantly rocketed and bombarded such values through especially the television.
You say you desire hot, sex from beautiful women? What is the cost of such "hot" sex from women? Force. What is the cost of extending your power upon her? force. Unless she is promisciously inclined, and agrees to fuck you in the open, then you have a problem with that.Violence are a consequence of our instincts. Our instincts are a violent nature themselves. Yes, we are endowed with the instinct of self-preservation, which in turn is the instinct of survival, power, and raw pride.
Instinct is the original spectrum that causes society to burst into life.. But, what governs society is quite the contrary to our instincts. Its the government...the controller of society that suppresses our instincts to act in full extent. the police, the politicans, the lawyers, everything, are enforces are such an artifical notion. They are the object of the de-constructive, corrupted, anti-natural, all-out artifical chaos that we are imposed to daily. They are the epitome of the fallen, the weak, and contradctive to the strong. This is a war of idealogy..the modern war. War is happening right now via mind manipulation through the TV, the news, and the books. Strengthen your ideaolgy, philisophize about power in general, and sharpen your mind like a blade because what will happen if your dull, blunt sword clashes against one that is sharp, and furiously deadly? You will die.

Toking with Jesus-While I've enjoyed this discussion on human instincts, I have come to the conclusion that you are wacked out of your fucking head. At first I thought you might be some disturbed, misguided kid who got a bit too high or that you were just trying to get a rise out of people. I jokingly said I'd watch for you on the evening news but now I'm not so sure it isn't going to happen for real.
I'm not sure if it wasn't there before or maybe I just noticed it but your signature is a quote from Richard Ramirez. Richard Ramirez is a demented lunatic now on death row which is where he belongs. For all you folks who don't know, Richard Ramirez was/ is a serial killer who, in Califonia in the mid-80's, would sneak though open windows of people's homes and kill them while they slept. He killed at least 13 people, probably more, before he was caught. Richard Ramirez is not someone you want to idolize and quote.
Seriously dude, you need some help.
