Hi Patricia. Just wondering...how old are you? Makes a difference as to what kind of things you enjoy doing. Some of us on here are teenagers, and others, like me and Torog, are more "mature" gentlemen.Quote:

Hello and welcome Sprchvy! I'll let Torog give you the official "howdy" when he logs on...lolQuote:

I understand that there is some (not plenty, but some) really, really good goody in the area, but unfortunately I'm in a smokeless phase right now due to some personal/business reasons. So I don't have access to it for the time being.
Are you in the Frisco/Plano area? The lousy thing is that people can't openly tell you good places to go to make friends who enjoy your passion for smoke. Too many prying eyes on websites like this who would spoil the fun for everyone. There are a few places in the area where you can go to have a cold drink, enjoy some tasty food, and have a good chance of meeting people who might be able to help you out. It's all a matter of how much of a risk taker you are. The more you have to lose to these stupid, draconian laws, the less likely folks are to ask around. But you're still very young, so you would fit in easily at bars and clubs where folks tend to congregate. Folks like me, Torog, bssman, and others who are past 40 have a tougher time, because so few of us go out to places like that.
I suggest you get a copy of the Guide in Friday's Dallas Morning News, and check out the local club scene. Even if you're not a big bar-fly type, you do sometimes have to go to where the folks are to get what you want. You don't catch too many fish until you go to the lake. Also check out the Observer paper, which is free. You can get it at many local restaurants and newsstands. There are lots of ideas there as well.
I hope this helps, even if just a little. If we were neighbors or friends, you could come to one of my cookouts and get to know some of our other friends on the message boards from the area. Maybe someday the people who restrict our own personal freedoms and liberties will back off and stop this ridiculous persecution of people who prefer to smoke a little rather than drink alcohol.
Take care and enjoy today. Just stay out of the oppressive heat. By the way, you never mentioned if you're a man or woman. I hear that it's much easier for ladies to find good smoke than it is for men. If you're a lady, just flutter your eyelashes, give a big ol' smile, and flirt your little self silly. If you're a man.....umm......please do not try those methods. Might be a bit too risky to your health in these parts. ;)
Onward!
Welcome Patricia. I'm not too far from you, but currently am going through a dry spell.
Onward and Torog, its nice to know there are a few of us who are "long of tooth" out there. Seems to be an overwhelming abundance of the younger crowd. I've no problem with them, but they often are moving a bit too fast for my preference.
Thanks for the kind words onwardthroughthefog it is definately appreciated. I see that you are a vet around here and I appreciate the time you spent writing. I am a male and to give you some background on myself. My two brothers and one of my cousins sell and have been saleing for a while. They get the regular california bomb, derivatives of indoor wherehouse type cultivation. I had not smoked stress/swag/seed infested stuff in years but in comming out to Texas its all I can get my hands on. I started growing with my cousin at his house about 2 years ago while I was still in Cali. We had about 7 harvest learning something new each time. Our first harvest we grew some seeds we collected overtime and learned about how genetics are as important as the medium and lights you use. He is still growing but I moved away about 6 months ago. I plan on starting a garden as soon as I buy a house (renting right now). I consider myself pretty expirenced and would love to meet more poeple with the more advanced knowlege of weed, not people that think sinsemilla is a kind of plant that does not make seeds... Any how I am rambling now so I will wrap it up by saying thanks for the post and I hope some day I can share with you more...
I hear you about the younger folks moving too fast. Some people say to stop and smell the roses.........I just want to stop and catch my breath!!!Quote:

I have heard about some incredible goodies around this area, but unfortunately I have to just say no. Business and career demands require my absolute attention and I just can't have any cobwebs now. Hopefully things will be resolved in the next few months, and life can go back to just regular ol' daily stress. But I'm living proof that smoking is in no way addictive or something a person can't stop any time they want. I've done this before during times of very demanding periods of life, with no physical or psychological negative effects. Sure it would be nice, but so would a lot of things that we have the ability to stop doing when necessary. I'd like to eat, drink, smoke, and exercise like I did 25 years ago.....but that would NOT be smart...lol
Anyway, welcome and I hope all of you have a great week!

Hello again Sprchvy396. I hope Monday was kind to you today.Quote:

But it's nice to have a few people closer to my age, in their 30's, 40's, 50's, and up, to correspond with.
I'm more involved in political forums on other boards, but this one has some really intelligent and good-hearted people on it. Not everyone agrees with me on political issues, but for the most part, people are respectful and able to express their opinions intelligently. Torog and I may not agree on a lot of issues, but there are some things we are in total agreement on. And besides that he seems like a really good guy. I put a lot of stake in who I'd enjoy spending a day fishing with, and he would be a good guy to pop a top with. We'd just agree not to talk about politics... :D Maybe we could compare horror stories about our ex-wives.
You're much more of a growing veteran than me. I never really tried that myself, but have had friends in past years who were very successful. I did try once about 30 years ago, but never saw anything reach maturity before watching things just dry up and die.
I'll admit that I read a LOT about the subject, have seen numerous DVD's and videos about it, talked to some guys in a local grow shop who educated me quite a bit, visited some very successful sites in the past, but I've just never been in a position to see things through for the entire time required. I actually enjoy the process of learning quite a bit, regardless of the subject. This subject intrigues me, so I do try to be as educated as possible without having the good fortune of getting to put those lessons into action.
Anyway, you have a great week, try to stay cool, and I wish you the best in your search for treats.
Take care,

Yup..I can dig that you ain't liking the swag that's all that's usually available, sometimes you can git some pretty good skunk brick, but it can be very seedy at times. I have a friend in Lewisville, that can pretty much git 'hydro' anytime he wants, but I can't afford it and with the price of gas these days,he can't afford to come down and visit..after spending all his spare cash on 'dro..lol. I told someone once before,in yer area, that if they went to bars where more affluent people went to,that they might find a hydro hook-up..believe me,there are plenty of well-to-do folks that toke hydro, the trick is hooking up with one of their suppliers.
I can also dig where yer coming from,in regards to weed knowledge and growing, there are alot of un-educated tokers in these parts, and most don't know hardly anything about growing or what good smoke is like, cept for us older stoners. Heck, most young folks around here, don't even know what sinse is or what it means..lol. I hope that things work out for ya..Good Luck !
Have a good one !

I hope that someday,we can git together for a bbq !

Sorry, Toroq and Patricia, but I live on the southside of the Metromess. Just scored in the local area but wish I could help you :( Just read other posts to this section and post into the Want Ads section. Ya never know who'll you'll meet here. Best of luck to you in your search for bliss!
Howdy onward,
I too, thank ya for yer kind words:)
Boy howdy ! I do have some ex-wife horror stories ! lol
I wish that a bunch of us could git together for a cook-out and a toke in..I'm sure that we could have alot of fun !
Thanx to a recent run-in with the cops,we no longer have a car,it was impounded and we'll never be able to git it back out,all because my gal was trying to bring me some 'medicine',swag doesn't really count as medicine, but it's better than taking dangerous, addictive and deadly narcotics..which we told the cops, btw, and they said that they weren't there to debate the medical issues of medical marijuana..grrrr ! I'm thinking that it might be a good idea to contact the MPP Project, here in Texas and tell them my story..I want to fight back ! Dang em ! HB 658,medical need defense bill, almost passed this last session and another bill,HB 248,decrim'ing possesion under one oz to the status of a parking ticket, almost passed too.
Have a good one !
Man, there's got to be a way for us older folks to get together and tell lies to each other over some "refreshments." ;) and share some info. Kinda hard to do without some paranoia involved, I guess. Anyway, it's great to see the new faces here and some activity on the board. Good luck on your missions to find some bliss!

Yeah, it's sad that we all have to be paranoid about getting together. We can thank politicians from both sides of the aisle for that.
A cookout, some horseshoes, sand volleyball, maybe a pier to do some fishing or launch a boat from....that would be a great day for all of us. I'll admit that I'd probably just find me a really comfortable lounge chair in the shade and let all the younger folks have the fun with the sports. Me and Torog will just chill in the shade, toast a toke or two (or twenty), and gnaw on a few ribs. Just bring up a chair and take a breath of stress relief with us.
I'd LOVE to own a place where folks like us could just sit and enjoy a cold brew or cup of coffee while enjoying a smoke with good friends. No hassles, no danger, not causing anybody in this world any trouble.
Torog, best of luck to you with the car problem. I wish I was in a position to help out. Is that your only car? Do either of you have to find a way to work, or are you retired?
Take care everyone and maybe someday we can find a way to make things better for us all.

It would have to be on private property set back from public view and with limited access.
I like the idea of sittin in the shade..lol..my gal would sit right next to me too and we could watch the younguns runnin around..lol.
Neither one of us work..I'm 100% disabled and my gal's trying to git approved for disability,so we don't have to git back and forth to work, but we live 30 miles round-trip to the nearest grocery store and we also help an elderly man, which has caused him some trouble already.
Have a good one !
You know this "gaining wisdom" thing sure does hurt. But, they say age and treachery will always overcome youth and energy in the end...
Hope all are doing well. Glad some are having luck in their respective searches. I on the otherhand, am not. I've been out of the green scene for a long time. Unfortunately, my doctors have given me a reason to resume. I should say they discovered a reason for me to resume, especially after the chemo treatments. The problem is I let all my old sources expire in the years I was away from the scene. And what I've found is it is very difficult for an older guy to break back in. I've even tried one of the mail order outfits and was promptly scammed. Oh well, hell...
Needless to say, I really have a problem with my beloved Republic's stance on medical MJ. Who among us would have thought that Texans would be driven under cover and away from our normal hospitable ways by the actions of some double-talkin' politicians. Come on, this is supposed to be the Wild West. It seems more like the suspicious, treat your neighbors like you don't know them West. It just floors me that I have been looking for six weeks now and haven't been able to find my "Kind" of medicine. I cannot believe I am going to have to travel to someplace like Canada or California to find. Who among us could have thought that lesser places would be thought of as more open and progressive than our Texas...
OK, I'm done ranting. Please don't take this as me trying to disparage this Republic, this board, or any of the participants. It's just been a tough, two treatment week and I've been sick as a dog. Also, know this, even with its politically motivated short-sightedness, I would never choose to live elsewhere. Here's to hoping for a cool change someday.
And BTW, I heard elsewhere the string starter found her "Kind" of friends and that's probably why we haven't seen her again...
I saw your post in the want ads. One question do you own or rent? I only ask because it sounds like you should grow your own shit dude.
I agree with you whole heartedly and will someday have a grow again. However, I have been seeking weed AND seed, to no avail.
I also have been through three attempts at sprouting my leftover bag seed from the last year I got some. Unfortunately, that was 8+ years ago and none of the little bitches (we can hope) have come up. I've tried sprouting over a 100 seeds over the last six weeks; only to realize, they're too old. Well, so it seems am I... But, I digress.
I have one super Kush seed maybe we should meet up some time, I also have a connection on good seeds... Let me know...
I wouldn't want to take your last, but I would appreciate the help locating some viable. Let me know when you have the time and we can meet. If you like, we can go to your favorite watering hole. As hot as it's been, I can usually go for a cold one or two or three...
Thanks Again
Hi,
Thanks so much for all the responses. Unfortunately I've been tied up getting totally scammed by someone I met on this website. So I've been really sick about it not to mention the person is now trying to tell me that I should be careful like it's not freaking scarey enough trying to hook up these days.
I can't believe how hard it is to meet someone in this freaking area. It's so stupid that people are out there drinking and driving and killing people every day and you can't smoke a freaking joint. o.k. deep breath.
Anyway back to making dinner. I'm 31 and happily married to someone who has only smoked once and wasn't thrilled with it (whatever!).
I hate how paranoid I feel about even posting this. It's so stupid that we should ...
Thanks for everyone's input.
Patricia
Hi Patricia. I hate it that you were scammed, especially by someone on this forum. You ought to let the moderators know so that they can look into him or her and expose them for the scammer they are. Otherwise many other innocent folks will get scammed the same way. Just curious....what scam did he or she use on you?Quote:

I wish to goodness that my life wasn't in so much high stress mode right now. I can't even blow one to ease my physical pain, and the stress just has to take a back seat. But hopefully in time things will get back to normal and I'll be able to enjoy again.
I agree that so many people drive drunk, yet we can't even stay home and just enjoy our preferred way to relax and endure life. It's really pathetic. And I don't even drink anymore, so I can't even have that relaxation.
I've got an appointment tomorrow for a full body deep tissue massage, and that'll be the closest I've come in awhile to any sort of relaxation. The massage is a gift my wife bought for me to help ease my stress level, if even for just a little while. I feel like a little kid waiting for Chistmas Eve to end so that I can go unwrap my presents....lol My wife is so incredibly wonderful and thinks of things like this very often. I'm really blessed to have her.
Maybe after the massage I'll head over to Red, Hot, and Blue for some good barbecue. I love that place and go quite often. If you're never tried it, they have wonderful food and the service has always been very good for us. It's in Plano, I believe at the corner of Preston and Plano Pkwy.
Well, off to sleep now. Lord knows I can use all the beauty sleep I can get. Goodnight to all my friends on here. Take care and God bless.
Onward!
That's a good idea to let the moderators of this site know. I feel stupid to even admit that I sent some guy money and got scammed. It sounds like a pretty common story on this website.
I'm sorry to hear you are in physical pain... I feel pretty selfish just thinking about myself and my little stresses when physical pain or illness is another story altogether. I read NativeTX is going through chemo. I feel for you too and am sending you prayers for you to find something to ease your pain.
Hope you have a great massage! Afraid I've never tried the bbq place but it's pretty close to me. It's hard to believe I'm in the land of red meat and I'm a veg (not a native Texan!). I exercise every day and eat really healthy. It's the way I like to live. I guess it's a little ironic that I like to smoke. Got away from it for a few years but visited some old friends and forgot how much I missed it. Looks like I may have to give it up for good and just have my memories!
Native TX: my little sis just got past her chemo and it was a real bitch for her so I know what you're going through. I'll keep you in my thoughts.
Ed
Patricia, welcome back. Try not to fret too much over getting scammed by mail, I had a similar experience recently. What risks we take to satisfy our needs and desires. I think it's probably better for us to seek what we want locally, despite the difficulty. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. I can use all of them I can get.
As to giving up, we Texans never give up! I will find the "Kind" eventually, and so will you. I hesitate to discuss Karma here because my Karma ran over my dogma. However, all good things come to those who wait. Eventually we will find someone who is trusting enough or we will meet someone who comes to know and trust us and the availability will manifest itself. It is just a matter of time... Despite my previous rant, there are too many good people around here and on this board for us to go without permanantly. Just keep the faith.
BTW, I too am married to one who does not partake, but is tolerant of my choice.
Onward, I hope you feel better. I look forward to the day when you are less stressed and perhaps we can all get together for a bbq, picnic, or campout and all "light it up".
LiftUrHead, thanks for the thoughts. For all the other good natured Texas Stoners out there, Have a good weekend.
Thanks for the good words. I do feel better today after that massage, but the pain I suffer from is lifelong and at times can be pretty brutal. When I smoke, for some reason it seems to lessen the pain and make it at least tolerable. Much, much, much more tolerable than hydrocodone, vicodin, percocet, and all the other prescriptions I get. It just amazes me that our government denies people such a tremendously helpful pain reliever.Quote:

Hey NativeTx, you are right. As Winston Churchill said "never, never, never, never quit".

Way North Tx.Here,I have dabed into this site a lil about a year off and on.Started smokin again a good year ago or more.Started back again cause of narcotic addiction, and it works. The more I smoke the more I read. Now that I know what i know now what I did't know then I have no shame in smokin at all.Matter of fact I am so humble to say I would go down gladly foe the cause and have done so for a misdemeanor under 2oz. at th e begining of this year.Mark Emery has really enlghtened me as so icons such as Willy Nelson and Mrs. Reich. My heart goes out to all those who could benefit from the medicinal aspects of such a resourcesfull plant. All said ,peace and prayers on this end and god bless.

Hey I'm 38 and I'm in princeton which is 8 miles east of mckinney. I'm always looking for friends. I'm a glass blower which basically defines my existence. People tend to get shiny glass things from me for christmas and birthdays. I saw the Grateful Dead 326 times. I don't know where to score arround here but it seems like every now and then soomeone has pity on me.
Hello all from Frisco, TX!
I posted a few months back, but didn't hear anything back then so I figured I would give it another shot and try to connect with some fellow Friscoans. Seems to be more activity now that it's summer?
Anyway, I just moved to Frisco a few months ago from a Big Ten college town in the midwest. I am into openminded, KIND people and enjoy lots of different music and activities besides those that we are all here to discuss. Like many other poor souls, I have yet to meet anyone in this area that has any leads on where to locate the quality materials, so I have abstained for quite awhile. I am looking to hopefully meet some of these nice folks soon, and ideally that would be in combination with some music playing/jamming. I am a singer/guitarist/songwriter... not great at any of the three arts but decent to slightly above average at all. I play mostly blues, folk, rock n roll, and nothing gives me greater pleasure than creating vocal harmonies. Hope everyone on this forum is doing well and I look forward to meeting some of you great people in the near future!
