He died of lung cancer, he was 67. His TV Special Ecstasy Rising was ground breaking television, and exposed the government's incompetence and outright fraud in the war on drugs, and for that everyone owes him a debt of gratitude.

RIP PETE
oh man, that is sad news. he was a great man who gave us the current news in an honest and sincere manner...much like cronkite and how he kept 'them' honest.
i woke up watching espn on 9/11/01 and he was on doing his best to keep everyone calm and mellow but glued to the news. there was no yellow journalism with this man and he's leaving a big hole by not being there for us in the future...
I'll miss Peter Jennings. The way he reported the news was awesome, how he'd make those faces and dead pan comments (without really saying anything at all). You know he was thinking what all of us were thinking, and then he'd make that face like, "Yes, I can't believe it either."
It's too bad, and it's sad news. :( RIP, Pete.
Hmmmm.............a dead stranger, um, oh well.....................next thread.
he was a legendd
Let me guess, you are an English major.Quote:

I'm going to miss him. You get so used to watching someone on the news for so long, they feel like part of your proverbial family. He's going to be sorely missed.
