Is it safer to smoke pot in Canada or the US? I've heard Canada is a lot more lenient that the US but I'm curious. I live in Ohio and here you can have quite a bit and only get a ticket. It's like 100g or something. But that's just Ohio. I've heard of other states where you can face jail time for your first offense. So where is it safer here or Canada? If it's safer in Canada can you explain their basic laws on it?
well dude im not from canada but from what ive heard its alot safer in canada but im also not sure about other states most cops in MA are dicks but some are cool might be different where you live in Ohio
Canada is much more lenient on pot. Medical marijuana is legal, and pot laws are sometimes blatantly ignored (such as the cannabis cafés which operated in Vancouver for some time). You're highly unlikely to face any jail time for possession, in fact you'd probably get off with a warning or a fine at most, from what I hear. And there is a strong movement for outright legalization. A friend of mine went to a legalization rally on Parliament Hill where hundreds of people were smoking right in front of the cops, in front of Parliament (nobody was punished)! Also, Canadians in general are more accepting of weed, and are thus less likely to rat you out if they catch you.
Plus, the bud up there is soooooo good. Shwag is almost unheard of, and the dankest strains are abundant.
ya i live in canada, most cops if they catch you first time just take your buds and let you go, probably to go smoke it themselves
i live in canada and if your 16 er over all they do is take your buds, if it isnt a whole shitload and u dont have a scale and many baggies so it looks like your dealing. but if your younger your fucked they take all your shit and bring you home to your parents, the most ive ever gotten was 10 hours community service for having a lot of bud and a bubbler...o yeah and as someone mentioned are bud is totally kickass i havent seen shwagg or shake in many years
vegas is about the same i dont know how much, i heard in canada is kinda the same it just depends where you live in the us

ya I live in toronto, canada and theres some pretty sick spots there if you were ever visiting...There's a place called kensington market in toronto which is basically a bunch of rastas and stoners selling stuff and people smoke everywhere - they've even got a weed-friendly café called "The Hotbox Café" connected to the head shop named "Roach-o-Rama" I bought my last quart from a random guy in an anarchists bookclub :S

i got 'detained' for several hours in virginia due to about 3 grams of weed and some other goodies (gb caps n a ghetto blaster) and had 10 hrs community service lost my license for 6 months
but then again im a minor and it was a first offense
forgot to mention i was high as a bitch... they made my dad drive up to where i got arrested (i was driving when i got pulled over) and the cop let me follow my dad home in my jeep
I live in Canada, but I have been to the USofA before in Seattle. I couldn't smoke in the open as much as I can here. I can sit here in my city and smoke a bowl in a park about 3 blocks from a cop shop. They don't come around much and don't really care too much about it. It's nice. A joint you can smoke walking downtown because it looks like a cig, or act like it is one.
Never been busted, never plan on it :D
I'm in Toronto, AFAIK the official law is 1.5g or under all you get is a fine. But in reality, a fine is quite rare :)

If you go to the norml site you can find arrest data maps, columbus is in franklin county and has one of the lowest arrest rates for posesssion, marion is in the same rate group, but we have a lower population...
As for canada, its damn near legal, I think one good NORML rally there will push it over to all out legal, road trip next summer for sure!
i live i canada and im fifteen and yah most of us have never even heard of or seen shwag, i didnt know what it was before this website. Anwyays some kid i know got cuffed and taken to the copstation. i dont know if he got charged. i dont think so i think they let him off
i live in a suburb of toronto and ive been busted once, the cop just dumped the bud and was going to search us (my friend had a quarter on him) but he got a call, then he said hed throw us in jail if he saw us doing it again.
Living in the state of Texas and having herb on you is a BIG no, no.
