I'm going to try some weed tomorrow, but I've heard lots of stories of people just having a panic attack their first time. Any suggestions on how I could avoid such panic attacks and just enjoy the relaxing aspects, like should I get drunk before, or how many hits i should take?
It's all in your mind. It's going to be a different feeling if you've never experienced weed before, the first time I smoked I thought the cops were at the door because somebody was banging and I ran up the stairs and fell asleep on the stairs.
I suggest you don't smoke too much <did i just say too much?> just keep it at no more than an eighth your first time and let the good times roll, try not to hang around high tense people <unless that's your thing> and just remember, things around you don't change because you are smoking weed, it's you who are changed....so just remember that everything is the same, nobody else is seeing the light you are seeing.
DO NOT:
try to drive
try to operate any heavy machines/and/or power tools
Freak the fuck out cuzz you think someting is happening that isnt
Smoke alot in a hurry,slow and relax is the way on the first time..

Enjoy it with a few GOOD friends that will make the experience nice and not a bummer..
It is going to be totally in your hands on how you enjoy the buzz..Just dont put yourself inany position that would make your first time a bad experience..like out driving fucked up and get pulled over with weed in the car..or worse, wreck your car and hurt yourself,sum one around you..ya thatd be a bad first time...

Just chill and have a good time. Try not to think about anything except how good you feel and how beautiful things look, etc. If you do it with a few close friends in a secure environment, you should have no problem. I have never had a panic attack or anything and I usually smoke in public places or places where I might get caught (side of a road or in my friends job after hours) because there are no parks or secluded spots near me. It might be better if you don't get drunk before you smoke. I usually like to smoke a lot and then when the cotton-mouth kicks in I have a few beers/shots, whatever. Beer also tastes better when your stoned.
Just chill with your friends and listen to some mellow music and have a good time. Don't worry about anything.

u wouldn't get a panic attack unless u get really parinoid, if your smoking with friends that have smoked before they'll know how to handle it and will be there to help you out, any body remember havin' the fish bowl effect the first time they smoked?i don't seem to get that anymore =(
I'd say just smoke a joint. Pass it around you'll be high. My first time I smoked a bunch and freaked out.
My first time we smoked a blunt (which was perfect for me because I smoke ciggs so I got good hits) But all I remember is how great it was to ride around in the car I just got really quite (which isn't like me so everyone knew I was high) and went into my own little world and enjoyed all the turns and bumps in the road!!
My advice:
- *Only* close friends. Strangers tend to make me paranoid, and it ruins the experience.
- It's always a good idea to make *sure* you're in a situation where there is no chance of getting caught. Otherwise? Might get paranoid.
- Too much (I said it!) weed probably isn't the best idea for a newb. Might be overwhelming.
- Negative thoughts = buzzkill. Always think positive.

Take as many hits as possible, and when you feel like your going to die just remmber that nobody has died from weed, o, and dont call up any girls u tryin to get with cuz thats what i did and i always fucked up on the phone cuZ i was always so blazed.
I find a lot of people new to smoking pot always get their hopes up for something out of this world and end up being dissapointed, or not "getting high". Don't think about the feeling being high, what it is like and thinking that it is going to be a rollercoater ride.
Just sit back, inhale the smoke, hold it in for a few seconds, release, and just let the feeling come over you. Don't sit there thinking, "am I high"..."is this it?", just smoke it, and let the herb do the rest. Happy smokin :cool:
Allright I got some, which way should i smoke it? I dont have any rolling paper but I've got some altoids paper which seems thin enough. I dont really feel like making a bong. I'm thinking lighting it on a spoon and taking the smoke straight up, anyone reccomend this?
If you got no papers just make a simple gravity bong or waterfall.
man just make an apple pipe or steamroller they're fast and easy if you just wanna get high.
Allright I did it with a soldering iron. Held smoke in lungs for a long time, it tastes yummy :) 7 minutes now, no effects yet, but I have heard it takes a long time for newbies.

Ok I've just taken about 9 hits, 6 i think were done right, and its not working, 30 min later. I'm pretty sure I'm doing it right because I'm inhailing it into my lungs, it burns a little, I can see smoke when i exhale, and every time i breathe I taste weed :P

I tried that last night with the apple bong. I actually made it pretty well, but my weed wouldn't light. It would smoke when I held the lighter there, and then just go out. Its really dense, am I supposed to grind this stuff up?
Dude... i'm still a newb kinda but I've been gett'n high.. but the 1st couple times.. actaully lke 1st 5-6 times I was having pannic attacks.. and it wasn't cuz anything bad was goin to happen it's cuz my 1st time I smoked i belieave it was laced so after that I was kinda sacred like as it could be laced or somthing so its all in your head just know what's in it and you'll be fine, I mean LOOK AT ALL THE PPL WHO DO IT.. have any of them died form just weed.. or like gone crazy NO, the THC just tickels your brain thats all.. so isteaded of try'n to fear the pannic attack just try and get one ya know.. well anyother words.. dont be a afraid of it.. if you're afraid of swimming.. Ok I made the apple bong, with a tinfoil poked bowl and an aluminum pipe i found laying in a bin of pens.
I went in the garage, held a bbq lighter over the chopped up pieces of bud in the bowl, breathed in, and i hardly got any smoke.
Then i tried leaving the lighter lighting the bowl and breathe it in while its on fire. I got a ton of smoke, i coughed it up like hell. I think i did it right :D Exactly 7 minutes later, while i was sitting in the garage, i felt myself get lighter. Its kinda like the nitrous oxide they give you at the dentist.
Now i'm on my computer, high, my chest feels a little tight, i'm really thirsty, and having lots of fun :)
You got it man good job. Now just wait till you get your hands on some real shit, i.e. bongs..bubblers..joints rolled correctly..all that good stuff. And when you're with friends you can talk forever about stupid stuff, and get really into it.
first thing ya gotta break up the buds(those big chunks of herb that look really pretty) you can do this by taking a bud and rolling it between your thumb and trigger finger this should leave small peices no bigger than a BB
ounce youve accomplished this put em in your bowl and pack em in tight enouph to where you can suck through it easily then light it while its being lit suck through the pipe making sure you inhale some poeple swallow the smoke by accident once you have smoke in yur lungs hold your breath for at least ten secs. then exhale slowly i have heard myths that say if you exhale through your nose it gets you more stoned faster i dont see how thats true but if it works let me know cuz that would be cool

The gravity bong is your best friend.
if you're smoking pure weed, you sometimes have to hold the lighter to it while your inhaling, or else it just goes out. thats why some people put tobacco in the joint/bowl/whatever. i never have, i dont have a problem with re-lighting it each time.

Make sure you are hitting it when you light it with the lighter and then continue to hit it with the lighter away.

if you wanna get super fucked up with weed make fucking brownies..the first time i did weed i ate brownies (2 brownies) and it was the worst experience ever. it took about an hour but it hit me...bad...everything was going in slow motion, i couldnt concentrate on anything for like more than a second...it looked like there was a strobe light on..a slow strobe light. and i was real paraniod because i didnt whether my friends were fucked up or not...so tehy would freak me out. i talked to the tv one time i remember. the second time i did brownies i only at half a brownie and i still got a ll fucked up..not as bad as that first time but it was still bad. i had more fun with it tho. i quit brownies..i just smoke now and i get the good high where everythings so funny and everything tastes soo good. i say try the brownies first...then go down to just smoking...
