anyone?
I'd quite like to know that too cos i'm gona have to get myself a filter sorted very soon looks good tho lol
ok,
no one has ever grown cannabis using an ozone generator to fight against the odours produced by the plants?
anyone?
NGOS:)
most will say in addition to a carbon filter.
why take the chance on generator missing some smell letting it just sep on out.. my neighbors house is 6 ft away brick to brick. both sides... very close. 6000sqft lot.
I built my own ozone generator. Works great. cost me about $30 bucks.
ballast with aluminum foil inbtw glass plate and cup
so if u blew smoke at it with out absorbin thc when u clean it it will be resin?
I bought 1 2 day how strong is to strong i dont have a tester yet.
Dont take the bulb out of the casing. They are sold in the case to be under i think .05 something which will not give you cancer in one day. I made one that was good for about 10,000 sqft once and with in seconds the smell was gone. I left it in the room with the plants and when I checked on them about 20 hours later they looked sick as hell. I lost 20% of the leaf in my room and stunted the growth for almost two months till I brought them back to full health. It is really bad for you and your plants. I recommend ozium plug in sprayers used in public restrooms. They spray every 15min and cover smells great. All organic too.
This thing is good 4 about 1000 sqft. I as just wondering how long per few hours should i run it. After about 5 mins i can smell the ozone quite strong and i have read somewhere it lasts about 30 min lol. I guess i have just answered my own question. What do you ppl think?
Depends how many plants you are covering up.
On mine it says above 0.04 ppm may be harmfull. I have payed for it now so i might aswell see what i can do.

guess i need 2 buy a meter then
A laser printer makes a good ozone generator. The early HP laserjets had ozone filters in front of the fans.
Just be careful with an Ozone generator in the same room as your plants. It can harm your plants & you if the Ozone level gets to high. Ozone can block the stomata of the plant....fyi
ell i am guessing when it smells really strong its 2 much yeah
thats a nice peice of kit m8 i will have to pop round and take a closer lookQuote:

lol
I just need a timer that will let me run it for about 1 minute every 30 minutes or something like that.
if you place it in the out put vent or close to the output vent it would still clean the odor as well. That way you can run it to the point where the odor is balanced around zero or no odor.
I think this thing would go way past that. I dont think it would be safe to just leave on.
I was thinking starting @ 1 minute every 30mins and uping it a little untill it is about right.
I have a silver bullet and to balance a garage it runs for about 12 min for every 20 min it's off. I have a variable timer so for me I'm not limited to the 15 on or off cycle. But for a unit that small I would start around the 15 on 30 off cycle then see how it goes.
Hmm...I think it'd be a lot safer to use an air filter or one of those ozium things.
yeah cheers. i am going to play on my next day off and do some timing manually. I should have more of an idea then. It just gets a bit strong in 15 min.
i bought a digital timer the otherday just to find out it can only hold 10 programs. So it isn't much good :(
ZANDOR ... do you have an opinion on these combination Ionizer/CFL gadgets ... ?? ...

I was thinking about throwing one of these into my 2' x 4' x 7' grow booth .. ?
:smokin:
Hey why not share with some pics if you can I have read many times the way to build it with the two jars and the neon transformer but want to be sure .So? got any diagrams or pics to share? :rasta:Quote:

I assume the level it produces is very small and does not travel far from the bulb. In enclosed room it may build up though so use caution. I believe Ozone can damage the stoma of the plant if not just keep it closed and you get the same results from the plant if the stoma is damaged or closed either way it's not good for the plant.
Just something to think about.
Hey everyone: I just acquired a 3', 10" ozone generator called the Green Avenger. The glass tube in it is about 2' long. My problem is this. Eventhough I taped the supreme hell out of the out take end that has the flex ducting on it along with where it hooks up to my squirrel gan, I can STILL smell the ozone, so obviously I have a leak.
I was wondering if perhaps I have a "leak back" into my room, through the squirrel fan, even though the fan's running continuously. I'm wondering if perhaps I should place an 10" inline fan, so the seal would perhaps be better.
Also wondering if there is a device that you can hook up to these generators that will automatically detect when they should turn on, or is it simply a case of putting them on a timer, and keep fiddling with it till your satisfied it's doing it's job.
My room is approx: 10X12 with 9' ceiling, so if the opinion is that of a timer, could you give me some idea of how many minutes on/off in an hour to begin?
Unfortunately my generator didn't come with a manual so everything is a bit of a guess at this point. Thanks in advance for any input.:)
Ozone has a lifespan of approx 20 minutes, is highly corrosive, and an irritant to the lungs and eyes. Aside from that it does a fantastic job of killing odor. You can build simple ones with a neon sign trasformer or but the massive ones like the Avenger. If you are still smelling ozone you need more airflow.
So am I hearing that an inline fan directly into the Avenger, would be the route to go???
It seems to me that would be the ideal way to go, with th output of the Avenger going to exhaust.
ozone cfls have limited effectiveness.. wouldnt plan on them controlling any major odor problems (I own two).
Anything that uses positive charge ions to attract and cling to airborne particulants is a bad bad thing.
Its called the 'black wall effect'. In a nutshell...positive charged ions attract airborne particles...induce the positive charge to those particles...which in turn makes them stick to anything they come in contact with. (that is why in commercials you see them wiping crap off of those rods in the ionizing 'fans'.
So...if you're ionizing your area...all you're really doing is getting your grow's aroma to literally 'stick' to things it comes in contact with.
