Mary Jane: A "hard drug"

I went to the doctors today about some medicine and he made sure to tell me not to drink on the medicine. He then goes you don't do any other drugs do you? (I smoke weed everyday, but who doesn't) Then he goes any hard drugs like marijuana or cocaine. I laughed out loud and go no I wouldn't touch that(referring to cocaine). Then I go "yeah i've smoked a few times though."

I mean to classify marijuana and cocaine together thats some bullshit right there. I wanted to get in a fight with the dude and lay down some facts, but I was really anxious to get out of there cause I hate medical places.

Question: From anyones point of view, what could be any similarity between weed and coke that doctors would think they are both hard drugs while alcohol is acceptable?

i was a coke/ heroin addict for many yrs before i got help and there is no comparision as a matter of fact the weed was what helped me to get off that shit that and several yrs of attending a methadone clinic.. as long as i dont run out of weed i dont really think about using hard drugs that much any more but im sure your doc was just telling you what he had been trained to tell you.. its a shame that more docs wont take the time to learn the truth about cannibis and its many medical uses

party drugs comes to mind right away? You'd think a Dr would know what stereotyping is. But maybe they did'nt teach him common sense at school :p

I was pretty straight with the dude telling him I was there because I was referred by a drug counselor who wanted to put me on anti-deprresants cause he thought i smoked because I was depressed. I didn't ever think he thought as weed and cocaine in the same class. Not even close. I guess ill have to be a doctor so I can tell kids, "i'd prescribe a drug for your symptons, but i think you only need a joint!"

dude DO NOT allow this quack to prescribe a anti depressent to you with out doing some research your self first on the drug he is prescribing there have been numerous cases of teenagers commiting suicide after being placed on these drugs some of the ones ive heard this about include paxil / zoloft / prozac/ and a few others that i cant recall at the moment i hope this works out for you and

tramadol is weak, i only take it when i cant get the real pain meds. just look at the dosage. u have to take 100-200 mg to feel it and u can take 10-20 of vicodin or hydrocodone and get a better buzz

Yeah tramadol is shit, anecdotal evidence indicates it may be good for withdrawals though.

Personally I don't believe in any sort of line seperating 'hard' or 'soft' drugs. Where do you draw it? Addictiveness? Natural vs. synthetic?
Addiction is a matter of self control, and natural doesn't mean safe.

Cocaine is Schedule II along with meth, speed, and Ketamine etc. and Coke is the extract of the coca plant but your not lookin at all the shit they use to extract it lol cocaine is a man-made drug, it is contained in a plant and refined by man. I know that it's true that a lot of teens have commited suicide and shite but prozac really helped me...probably saved my life.

That's perfectly fine. I mean, ANY habit will cause someone out there do these types of things...alcohol, tobacco...anything. I am just saying that I've seen A LOT more folks doing this out of desperation, not because they "could"--when it comes to the harder drugs. I've been smoking weed 21 years. I've gone without it for a long time. I missed it, yes, but I did have withdrawal symptoms from not having it? Nope. I never had to cut ties with the people I smoked with, just to give me the extra help I needed to stay away from it. Again, it's my personal experience, that's all. ive smoked weed everyday for the past 5 years and even though it IS a soft drug
its totalled a hard drug too
- me and my freinds joke around and usually call it crack cause
we act so silly on it some times
- and i just think of how much it fucks you up if you never smoke and you toke - its like you are like on acid hahah compared to us daily tokers - for us it seems like just relaxing and such even though i stil get "fucked" real good weed - ie i can go to work an school or do any other normal life activity high as shit and function completely normal - where as a "rookie" would be fucked and find it hard to concentrate or trip out or whatever
- last month i quit for 2 weeks and then toked and i was lauhging my ass off uncontrolably saying outloud to myself thats some damn good crack - it made me relize how immune to pot i am by smoking it everyday cause of how fucked i was

point is weed is a hard drug hahahahah for sure - as if it isnt.....when i started smoking @ age 15 it was just as intoxicating as booz just without the side effects

Doctors have a very unique, highly qualified, and well trained method for prescribing anti-depressants (they are professionals after all). it goes something like this :

"depressed eh? lets try this one and see what happens!....... that made it worse eh? then try this one!.....oh, it made you pee blood, ok we'll try some of this!" :rolleyes:

im 15 and i have to take this outpasient class(sort of like rehab. ut i live at my house and drive to the meatings on wednessday.) well i watched this movie in that class and the fuckers were trying to compare meth and pot. :confused: :confused: :confused: they praticply told me that meth and pot are the same since the both can be mad easly

Obvious morons...as even a retarded monkey would know pot isn't "made", it's grown. Last time I checked, there were no household/automotive chemicals in pot. Those classes are a bunch of crap anyhow. im sure it does help some people my little sister is on it and my sons mom is on that zoloft shit but these drugs are not ment to be prescribed to kids ive read up on this subject a good bit and for some one who has a real problem they are effective but come with some pretty bad side effects in some people.. but a lot of docs are presribing them now to people who dont need them... kinda like the ritalin thing with overly energetic kids they give them speed instead of making the kid stop eating sugar and get some exersize any way i ment no disrespect to any one who is on prozac or any other saratonin reuptake inhibitors and i hope that it will continue to help you cause we need as many stoners as possable if we are ever going to win the war against weed in this country

The few hours of stimulation a day=A few days of withdrawl.

The withdrawl from any reuptake inhibator drug fucks up your central nervous system.

When I think of people that got into this stuff a few years ago i think

of a drug craving creepy guy walking around in downtown trying to score a hit.

Addiction is harsh because you crave drugs for the rest of your misreble life.

It is sad that some of you guys think that your next hit is the only thing
