Reasons for smoking?

I was just wondering why yall smoked. Like for what reasons do you find it nessecery to smoke? I just handle the real world at the mo and I find its a good escape!

The reason I used to get high (and occasionally still do when i can) is I feel like no one cares about me or I am not loved in this world. I think it is this whole thing of acceptance for me. Acceptance from my friends, family, and boyfriend. you get the point. I just feel when I am high that no one has to care and I feel so happy!

I smoke weed for that "wow"feeling...for that spititual transcendence to an alternate conciousness...plus, Mr Big chocolate bars are just SOOOO good when i'm high!!!

i started smoking cause it felt good, but now it has come more to a point of where it helps get me through the day. i dont think anything could be better. :)

I tried smoking out of curiousity, then I found that I liked it. A lot. It also helps me relax.

i started burning because it takes me away from all the shit that goes on in my life. i had some really fucked up shit happen to me and i think it's better for me to burn and forget about it, than dwelling in the past. sometimes i think it's best for people to forget about reality. some people smoke weed or they have their own way of doing that. but it does not make me a bad person be'cause i like to burn. a lot of people in hawaii somke rocks (more than 30% of the population) and i rather smoke weed than be an ice head.

you wanna know why i smoke well i started a 8 cause my dad beat me and i had a lot of pain so i wanted to be releved of it so i smoke well years went on and i was hooked some say its not possible to git hooked well thats bull i have to have it to git threw the day but when im with my friends it is to git as hi as possible

it makes you feel so good and sociable with the people your with.your forget about your problems and just enjoy every second for wat its worth.you feel so happy and relaxed most of the time and its like the real you comes out with how you think and how you feel.music and everything sounds so much better and everything is so clear and everything is so much more interesting and funny.man..i love my marijuana! ;) it gets me through each day i guess.

i smoke weed.. because when i'm high.. for a little while.. i'm HIGH.. and after.. i fall asleep.. not a care in the world.. and wake up the next day with no hangover.. and do it all over again

Many reasons for me.

Medical - number one. No, really. It is the only thing that gives me relief from my hacking fits, presumably asthma after a fashion. Have never gotten a settled diagnosis, though I have seen numerous specialists and had medical bills over 10K trying to find one. No other medicine helped, including all the steroid inhalers, codeine cough syrup, flonase, allergy medicines, etc ad nauseam. The worst was prednisone which actually exasperated the condition. But, weed? It knocks my choking fits out in 10-15 min and I can breathe clear for a couple of hours. Then I get high again. It's a vicious cycle.

Not to be rude, but I am flat NOT INTERESTED in suggestion for cures. I have heard it all. Even if I was to consider your idea, it would be #3,268 on my list of helpful suggestions to try. See what I mean. I often wished I had a diagnosis so I wouldn't have to hear all the street shamans and the like offer me the cure all for the choking cough that someone they know has one just like it.... Yeah right. At least if I said it was cancer or emphysema maybe they would spare me the instant diagnosis that all the conventional doctors and specialist failed to find through extensive workups. I found the next best thing to a cure and that is management through pot.

I also like the high of course. Definitely a paradigm shift when it comes to thinking and creativeness. Just don't want to be high as often as I need to smoke. But apparently its unavoidable.

One more worth mentioning. I believe it helps me to appreciate God's creation in a heightenly sensitive way. But at the same time, I am sometimes conflicted about reconciling parts of my use with my faith. Although it fits quite nicely with my broader philosophical outlook on life.

for me smoking is a social thing, as well as a way to escape, relax and chill out for a few hours. smoking is a great way to meet some cool people. it gives you something to talk about i guess, break the ice sorta. besides, for me, smoking herb brings my inhibitions down a bit, allowing me to be myself around people, acting silly and having some fun. plus i just love to get high as a kite.
