Wisdom Teeth pulled...to toke? or not to toke?
Hello, I am new to this awesome forum. Looks like it's going to be fun. BUUUUUT of course, to the matter at hand. I got all four...I REPEAT ALL FOUR (4) of my wisdom teeth removed about 2.5 weeks ago. I am gonna have a session this friday (tomorrow) but I was wondering if any of you got your wisdom teeth pulled and still had a session fairly recently? I just want to know all your opinions (especially if you've been in my current situation), would you continue with the plan tomorrow to have a session?
I guess the big issue is, I do not want to ruin the healing process of my gums or anything. So any advice? Should I just take it easy for a little longer for my gums to really heal? Or should I just GO HIT THAT SESSION UP ASAP??? My health WILL be my #1 concern of course, but if any of you have been in my situation and had no problems...then I will go with the plans tomorrow. If you any of you had post-problems after a session when you were still healing from your the removal wisdoms...then maybe it's best for me to sit this one out. So if you can give some advice hear and there. I most appreciate it. Thanks a lot guys.
Oh and I should probably explain the current state I am in after the surgery. AS OF RIGHT NOW AFTER 2.5 WEEKS...I have no pain. Only the first week I had some pain. But now I feel fine. I am basically back to a normal diet (for the first couple days after surgery, you have to go on a strict soft-food diet that would include like yogurt and mash potatoes). My gums have NOT completely sealed up and there are still holes that I can see (thats why I am afraid of having a session, I do not want to mess up the inside or anything). Doctor said it will take some time before my gums COMPLETELY fill the holes where the wisom teeth used to be. Thats about it. Other than that I feel fine. But you know, just because I have a REAL BAD craving for an AWESOME session tomorrow...I do not want to be hasty and screw up the current healing process (b/c it is indeed still healing). Argh, lame. But my health is ALWAYS my priority so I will suck it up if that is the case. So any advice would be great! Thanks again.

took me about a good 3 or 4 months for my gums to completely fill the holes where the teeth were...as for smoking....i'd say hell yea smoke that shit up...especially if it's hurting you....

food is going to do a lot more damage than smoke, and you're allowed to eat, so i don't see any reason why you shouldn't

I got ripped an hour before and a few hours after I got mine out. That probably wasn't a good idea but it didn't hurt me. They healed fine.
You're in better shape anyways since you've had them out for weeks.

I haven't had any teeth pulled but id say go for it and smoke up, it'll help you forget the pain.

When i got mine pulled i was so wasted on demerol (perscribed) i threw up and completly lost my appetite. I wish i had weed at the time.

I actually got mine pulled more recently than you. I've been smoking and it hasn't caused any problems, so my advice is toke away. But my orthodontist warned against sucking through a straw as it would cause a vacuum in my mouth and might suck out the blood clots, and I figured the same thing might happen with a bowl or bong, so I built a waterfall bong which doesn't require me to suck so much as inhale.

if you're really concerned about the smokes effect on your, just suck strait through a pipe. I mean yeah it'll make you cough a good deal, but it'll go strait down the tubes without filling up your mouth (just make sure you take little hootes, if you're not experience with pipes you'll probably take a lot more than you intend to because you dont' feel it the first couple seconds).

nnnooooo, DO NOT smoke my friend you will get dry socket, yes (dry socket) its when the smoke actually touches the bone where the wholes are, i had my wisdom teeth pulled about 4 months ago and i waited a week to smoke. dont smoke unless u want to experience extreme pain, its very painful and your mouth will swell twice the size it already is... take my advice or take the pain... ur choice

Didn't your dentist tell you how long you should wait before smoking anything? Most of the time they'll tell you how long to wait before sucking out of a straw or smoking a cigarette.

dude i got my wisdom teeth out last friday. all 4 of them. same exact thing u got. it hasn't even been a week yet and i smoked at least 4 days already. yeah i knew the risk of the dry socket and everything but i'm a serious stoner i want my weed lol so i was like fuck it and i smoked and i'm fine. and if its been 2 and a half weeks already then u should be fine. yeah dude it hurts like a bitch the first week and the smoking made the pain a little bit worse cause the sucking the smoke and that kinda felt like it pulled a little on my stitches but i'm fine now i smoked today and i didn't have any pain. you should be fine

Hey you guys, I just want to say that I appreciate all the response to my thread. I really feel the love & support. This is a big family here. haha. Thanks everyone, I will take everything into consideration. With the exception of one person...looks like the majority say go for it. But to you, STANKBUDSON07, I appreciate your concern for my health and will take your advice into consideration. I have heard of a "dry socket" problem and will think about it. I shall be honest, to the looks of it...i think my session tomorrow is going to be a GO GO GO GO GO! haha. But then again, maybe I shall change my mind. I will definitely come back here and tell you guys in the end whether or not I ended up having the session. As for now, I would like to once again thank everyone for their input. Take care guys. :)

I smoked i had surgical extraction lots of stitches in there. If you smoke within 48 hrs of an extraction u can develop dry socket. You will know if u get that believe me you will be in agony and go see the dentist right away so they can fix the infection. Its been 2.5 weeks your fine u wont get it now just keep gargling and keep the oral hygiene up.I smoked cigarettes but not weed when i had mine out i was on panadiene forte so they knocked me around for a few days.

Hey guys. DUUUDE. I had my session. And it was so awesome. I smoked like crazy last night. And when my friends and I got up this morning...what do you think we did? We decided to go for another session. And so we smoked again RIGHT in the morning. HAHAHAHA. Also, Boones Farm malt beverages TASTE SO GOOD. If you guys haven't tried it, go for it. You cannot even taste the alcohol.
Well anyways, as for my wisdom teeth...I think I will be fine. I had no pain smoking from a bong and I have no pain right now (I am not high right now, I am back to normal). So I guess I was fine after all for the session. Thanks for the advice everyone. Take care. :D :D :D

Yeah this is probably late but I smoked pot the night after getting mine pulled and they healed ok. No problems at all except my gf was pissed at me because I promised her I wouldn't.
The munchies are a bitch as well, if you're still healing and something looks good but you know you shouldn't eat it...DON'T. I tried a piece of licorice and even that didn't go over well.

I got my teeth out a few weeks ago, so I kinda went through the same thing.Remember to do salt water rinses to clear all those food particles from the tooth socket. If you don't they will rot in your mouth and cause great distaste. If you feel really sharp, throbbing pain in your jawbone, you might have a dry socket, which can be somewhat serious, so be sure to call the dentist. That's pretty much the only bad thing that can be caused by smoking too soon after the surgery.
Did they give you a perscription for vicodin? I remember the night after my surgery I took 3 vicodins and ate a pot brownie. Needless to say I had a pretty great time.

I know I'm a bit l8 with this post. I had a wisdom tooth out & got no pain killers. Was told to rinse with salty water. I smoked few mins b4 going dentist & smoked straight after (weed that is). I had no pain wotsoever & got no infection. Also did the same when I had a route canal done 2. As long as u rinse & get the food out then all's good :D

Yes, I was prescribed Vicodin (btw...I have 1 full bottle left :D :D :D hehe). The feeling of Vicodin is so weird, but it's pretty nice...ESPECIALLY before you go to sleep at night...you feel all tingly. But after the surgery, I was just on the drugs...feeling drowsy and in a state of stupor...playing video games & watching movies all week. After the first week, I was back to normal pretty much, but still felt sore. It has been 3 weeks now and I feel perfectly fine! Anyways, Happy Fourth of July everyone! Be safe.
