Over the last few months of browsing this site (with breaks, of course! ;)) there have been alot of threads bashing or criticising the moderators for enforcing the rules of this site. Shit, I even made a couple of those threads myself! But this is the way I interpret it now;
- Firstly, there is no age restriction on this site. Whether you agree or disagree regarding children being allowed to view sexually explicit material, it doesn't matter - if some bored old man or woman with alot of time on their hands and enough motivation were to see that a site with no age restrictions was allowing porn to be shown then there is a strong chance that they will do their best to stop it: this could mean trying to get the site shut down or trying to get a number of restrictions imposed on this site. Ergo no porn, whether you find it offensive or not; that's a different debate for a different day! :)
- This site, as far as I can tell, gets the majority of it's revenue from advertising, but I assume there are a number of other benefactors. Though a large number of the ads here are from sites selling Cannabis parephenalia and such, and most of the benefactors (if there are any) of this site no doubt support what this site stands for and represents, they still would not want this site allowing anything that could be considered dangerous or taboo (yes, some people do actually believe pornography to be dangerous). This would include pornography, illegal activities (or at least illegal activities that are likely to have legal repurcussions for the site and it's owners).
I'm sorry for ranting, but i've finally come to see why the mods do the job they do, and how well they do it. So quit your whining! hehe ;)
- Lastly; who would want to visit this site if every other thread was a vain attempt to score weed, sell weed, or similar? What if every thread was somebody calling everybody a bunch of assholes (i'm almost certain there are more of these threads made and deleted than we imagine)? I don't agree with cencorship as a whole, but I do think it is a good idea for these to be deleted - not because they offend me but because not deleting them would make this forum shite (to put it bluntly). Also, i'm sure there would be far fewer members signing up to this forum if every thread was riddled with insults and arguments, and 14 year olds asking how to inject cough syrup using a rusty needle they just found in a parking lot (less members = less revenue. Less revenue = no site). These kind of threads (though my example was exaggerated) would also be reason for some wannabe vigilante to try and get this site shut down.
