Old Fogies

What happens to the older smokers are there any on here, I seen loads of kids but do we sorta just fade out of sight once we get to a certain age.

Me I have no intention of doing that 25 years of smoking weed and I have been all over the world to do it.....................yet I have always noticed that once past 30 years of age the smoker is shy to be seen.

Tell a lie In Morocco I did smoke some of the finest hash with a group of old guys (all in their 60's), they totally freaked at first about a woman doing such things, but they soon got used to me.

Oh and of course Amsterdam attracts the more mature smoker...........well some of them.

How old am I ..............not saying but I'm a granny.

Hey fellow old timer. I am 40 and have been lighting up for 25 years. We old timers are like fine wine; we mellow with age. You will find there are quite a few of us here but we are less vocal. P.S. nice pic.

Hello Marko I'm just a bit older than that (only a bit ;) ), I'm really pleased I thought I was the odd one out on here :) .......affaid I've never been the quiet one, I was bought up with 4 older brothers so I had to be vocal to get my way.

And just like some of the ol' shiners I rock with on the porchs back home, we 'older & wiser'(?) burners learn it's not always wise, especially nowadays, to spout off about our 'relaxation', in the everyday world.
Luckily there are porchs such as this place where we can gather and shoot the breeze with other like-minded free-spiriters!

Anyway no more of me ................my next crop I've been assured it's a pretty potent skunk..................I don't grow fancy just cheaply and apart from last time they are usually good crops.

Hi Mand! I Just noticed you're from the UK. I'm glad to see another grower on the forums. Do you know what strain your plants are? What kind of setup do you have? (lights, soil etc). I don't have a fancy setup either, I prefer to keep it simple, it doesn't have to be complicated. My setup is a cupboard which I built from batons and hardboard, it is lit by a 250w HPS and has a bathroom extractor fan and a small desk fan. I grow the plants in multi-purpose compost. The strain I'm growing is Afghani.

Well GTC21 (I wish you would have told me a name to use.....Bob would have done :) )

Mine is all very basic :o .............soil home made compost, never buy shop stuff, I have a bin which takes all the garden and kitchen scraps.
Lights 400 watt Metal Halide which I run on a 19 hour cycle for vegative growing. Reducing to a 12 hour cycle for inducing usuing a High Pressure Sodium bulb .............eventually reducing down to 11 hours light over time.
I start induding at about 24 inches.
Noramally I have ok results but the last crop just got wiped out...........some kind of blight is the only reason I can think of, up untill then I have 6 years of trouble free growing.
This variety I am not sure they come from some one I trust who assures me it is very good skunk.

By the way I have grown Afghani before.......very nice :)

being 41 i try to not put a age on things like chat and ect but
u must or have a touch of regret for it,i rarely ask age anymore becuase i really dont wanna know,to be honest i ASSUME we are all adults(yea right)

I'm another over the hill toker. Been doing so for about 30 years.

I agree that the boards are full of kids who could be our grandchildren. But that's okay. Most of them are much like we were at that age, and they are already aware of many things that will help them in life as they grow older. And if they choose to heed the advice of us classic tokers, they will enjoy NOT making the mistakes we made.......or at least enjoying them if they do. :D

There are plenty of mature members here, most have young souls... I'm 48, smoked bigtime till around 28, stopped cold when kids were getting aware, and started again in last few years, just occassionally, and on the DL, because of job.

Well, well, well, old foggies..hmm. I think I qualify. The people I know from college and or back in the day haven't quit. When you work and make enough money to buy chronic, you don't particularly want to get arrested.
We are underground. Janis was wrong, freedom is NOT "nothing left to loose".

The main reason most stop, and not by choice, is no connect.

So, if you know you're going to stop smoking in the future, maybe you should stop now.

Just hit my 35th this month :) Fun to watch the younger ones, and remember "back in the day"!!!! I remember HATING my parents (whom I DEARLY love now!!!), saying I would NEVER be like them, and on and on. If I could be 1/2 as a good a parent as mine were, I'm set :)

Hey Allie, Happy belated birthday!! I'm 35 too and know exactly what you mean. It's easy to hate your parents when they're providing everything for you. Bills, a mortage, and a lil' critter calling you Daddy (or Mommy) really puts things into perspective though.

I'm 53, started in 1968. I also grow, as you do, not with a lot of tonnage or flashy name brands, but for personal use and the satisfaction of working with the plants. Started growing in '85.

I think it seems like the population here is so young because, well, mostly they are, and they also tend to be more vocal than us mature types, like many of us were at that age.

Can I remember what it was like to be a kid?.................Course I can, really awfull :o ...........like I said I was the baby sister to 4 overprotective brothers, It was the punk era and I just wanted to be wild but they had other ideas, mind you I still had fun though :)

Another old codger here â?? just sitting in my rocker with my jackknife and whittlinâ?? a new corncob to music from albums on vinyl (some from 78's). The vacuum tubes in my audio equipment warm these old bones very comfortably.

but soon to have grey hairs and new a set of worries
will the kids leave home and go to college
will they stay home and drag in boyfriends ect
or will GWB make my old age a fantasy i dont get to see
being in my 4th decade of life i look back at the changes and think DAM man where did the time fucking go

anyone feel like they are past the halfway piont ?
i do becuase i know i wont see 82 ,unless they find the fountain of youth and i win the lotto so i can afford to drink a glass from it

I know those feelings so well NowhereMan............the years have just flown by, my kids all grown up, my daughter has given me a grandson and aged me by many years, but she is ok and has a real good man to look after her.
My two sons are still living at home, my god are they full of themselves, the male ego it's so dam obvious, it's so much macho testosterone filled bullshit :rolleyes: but don't we girls love it :)

However I have still got a lot of this world to see yet and people to meet so I won't given in just yet.
