Kansas City clinic closed
as grisly house of horrors

A Kansas City abortionist is out of business after investigators discovered a grisly house of horrors at his clinic â?? with fetuses kept in Styrofoam cups in his refrigerator and one employee accusing him of microwaving one and stirring it into his lunch.
The unsanitary conditions in Krishna Rajanna's clinic prompted legislative approval of new abortion regulations in Kansas, a bill that was vetoed by the governor. Rajanna's activities have reportedly been the subject of law-enforcement investigations for nearly two years.
Rajanna first came to the attention of police in September 2003 when he called police to investigate alleged employee theft.
Detective William Howard of the Kansas City Police Department responded.
"I thought I had heard and seen every vile, disgusting crime scene, but was in for a new shock when I started this investigation," he would say later. Howard turned the matter over to the local district attorney and three state agencies.
Topping the list of horrors was an employee's account that she and others witnessed Rajanna "microwave one of the aborted fetuses and stir it into his lunch," as Howard recalled earlier this year when testifying before a Kansas House committee.
Rajanna denied the accusation. But he did keep fetuses in Styrofoam cups in the refrigerator along with food and drink.
"Dr. Rajanna lacked personal hygiene," testified Howard. "His hair was messy, hands dirty, and his clothing was wrinkled and stained. He put on old, used foot booties while we were there."
Howard testified the clinic was dark, dingy, had poor lighting and smelled musty. There were dirty dishes in the break-room sink and on the table, trash everywhere, and roaches crawling on the countertops. Howard was afraid to sit down.
Howard noted there were no hazardous waste containers anywhere. (An employee later testified Rajanna took home all contaminated, medical and biohazard waste for residential trash pick-up.)
As for the "procedure room," Howard's partner spotted dried blood on the floor and said the room looked "nasty."
Two dishwashers located next to the staff toilet served as sterilizers, according to employee testimony. Photographs show the toilet was bloody and functioned as a human waste disposal in the literal sense.
On Saturday, the State Board of Healing Arts voted unanimously to revoke Rajanna's license.
In March, a board inspector made two surprise visits to Rajanna' clinic. He reported the facility was unclean and that he found syringes of medications in an unlocked refrigerator. The inspector also reported finding a dead mouse in the hallway.
Rajanna said in his 10 years of performing abortions in Kansas City, no patient has complained about care.
Rajanna can appeal the decision to district court. He argued that he had not been given an opportunity to meet with the inspector to correct the deficiencies. But board members concluded that Rajanna's clinic represented a danger and said that as a doctor, he shouldn't have needed the board's prodding to keep a clinic clean and safe.
Board members also noted that Rajanna had been previously disciplined, in 2000 and 2001, for not properly testing his patients for their blood types and for improperly labeling medications. Also, in February, Rajanna signed an agreement to improve his clinic's conditions and paid a $1,000 fine.
With Rajanna's case pending, abortion opponents won legislative approval of a bill requiring abortion clinics to obtain an annual license from the Department of Health and Environment, hire surgeons as their medical directors and report patient deaths to the state within a day. The measure also mandated that the department set standards for equipment, medical screenings, ventilation and lighting.
But Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, an abortion-rights advocate, vetoed the measure, saying medical professionals â?? not legislators â?? should set standards.

Smells like prolife BS propoganda to me. I did a quick search on this guy and did find quite a bit about how his clinic was certainly unsanitary. I also read in the official report that he was keeping aborted tissue in the freezer, along with food, until he could dispose of it elsewhere.. Only on the radical anti-abortion websites, however, did I read anything about him eating the fetuses. Then again, who knows, there are a lot of sick fucks in the world.
On the other hand, this is exactly the reason why abortion should be kept legal. His was a legal clinic that was reguated, inspected and then shut down when these conditions where found. If abortion is made illegal it wouldn't be regulated. It would be driven underground where I'm sure conditions would be a lot worse.

you can be anti-abortion...and still think abortion should remain legal...it is possible.
i think abortion is disgusting. i think a country should evaluate itself after thousands of babies a month, all the way up 1 week before being born, are aborted in this country. it takes a sick individual to begin with to perform partial birth abortions especially...
especially when women don't know there are organizations that will pay them to have the baby, support them while pregnant and afterwards for a short time...and then adopt the children to, and there are plenty of people who would adopt them.
like anything, there is a dark side to some people. there are sick people who get these jobs and do disgusting things...this article didn't imply that all abortion doctors are like this.

Sounds like a horror story concocted by angry pro-lifers alright.

I believe in abortion depending on which stage of pregnancy. First couple weeks...sure why not he doesnt even have a fucking brain. After a month then the parents and doctors can fuck off. And I was adopted so I'm not taking the situation too lightly. I think that fetuses after a month are fully functional and are intellectually sentient. Pro-Life movements are full of shit because most of them don't know what it's like. Anti-Pro-Life movements are also full of shit because they're usually riddled with sick fucks who'd rather shoot the babies after they're born so they can see 'em die.
This whole idea is propaganda. Fengzi was right about that. It's not just propaganda, it's blatant distraction from what's really going on, we could sit around alllllll day pulling up news feeds about sick fucks who do far worse than eat dead baby fetuses. It's news...but to me just not news-worthy considering our current state of affairs. These Pro-Life Anti-Pro-Life assholes can go to hell until they come up with a way that by doing these stupid protests in the midst of near global crisis they protect us from a corrupt government.

^ Yep, like most things that are debated these days each opposing group goes so far in the opposite direction from each other that they lose sight of common sense.
I definitely support abortion up until the end of the first trimester. I'm going with this amount of time because that is how long we were told to wait to hear our daughters heartbeat. Also, 15-20% of pregnancies end naturally from miscarraige during this time because so much is going on. We learned this the first time my wife was pregnant and had a miscarraige in her 9th week. In fact, the docs will often warn you not to tell too many people before the end of the first trimester just in case.
I would probably support some legislation banning abortion after the first tri-mester though. I mean, unless the girl is just plain stupid she should have known she was pregnant for a while and 10-12 weeks is a lot of time to make up your mind. Certainly no abortions should be allowed after the point where a fetus could make it outside of the womb.
The problem is that both sides want all or nothing and can not compromise. If the pro-lifers get any laws against late term abortion they'll use it as a springboard to get all abortions banned and won't stop until they've succeeded. It's no wonder the pro-abortion groups won't yeild any ground.
Damn, why can't people just use common sense anymore.
-

Couldn't have said it better myself. Why can't everyone smoke a blunt and then shut the fuck up? the pro-lifers can just not get abortions and the pro-abortion can do their thing.

Common sense tells me that in a free society, people should be free to do as they please. I support a woman's right to choose whatever she wants to do, whenever she wants to do it. Hell, I support abortion up to the first semester of college.
The thing that really sickens me about the GOP stance on abortion is that they pay no attention to the health of the mother. The ban on "partial birth" abortion, which is so grossly misnamed it's not even funny, is a prime example. As the law reads, even if the mother would die from carrying a fetus to term, doctors are not permitted to perform an abortion legally. Makes no sense to me.
And finally on topic, all you have to do is look at the source of this "news," WorldNetDaily, to see that it's probably not true. This just seems like something to push people in favor of the pro-life stance.

have you watched a "partial birth abortion"?one of the most graphic things i have ever seen.the baby, thing or whatever makes you justify it,actually tries to get away from the needle that sucks its brain material out.
all this after inducing labor, hence the partial part of the abortion.

That's actually not true, but ok.

watch one on-line right now and tell me what you think.be prepared.
i believe these sorts of things should be much more visable to our society.abortions and executions should be seen by all.no hiding.both are barbaric ways of keeping the numbers down(wich i dont oppose),but all should see it up close,in highschool health class.
seems lots of people seem to think that executing people by lethal injection is a simple medical procedure where the person falls asleep.that is rarely the case.

Regulators dragged feet on 'cannibal abortionist'
Activist group first provided grisly photos of clinic nearly 2 years ago

After being provided information about the horrific conditions of a Kansas abortion clinic nearly two years ago, the Kansas state board in charge of regulating such facilities took months to investigate it and even longer to shut it down.
As WorldNetDaily reported, Krishna Rajanna's clinic was closed in March, but only after the testimony of law enforcement agents who investigated the grisly charges â?? including one employee's contention the abortionist once microwaved a fetus and stirred it into his lunch.
http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com...=7&u_java=true
Rajanna first came to the attention of police in September 2003 when he called the cops to investigate alleged employee theft.
Detective William Howard of the Kansas City Police Department responded.
"I thought I had heard and seen every vile, disgusting crime scene, but was in for a new shock when I started this investigation," he would say later. Howard turned the matter over to the local district attorney and three state agencies.
Topping the list of horrors was an employee's account that she and others witnessed Rajanna "microwave one of the aborted fetuses and stir it into his lunch," as Howard recalled earlier this year when testifying before a Kansas House committee on an abortion clinic regulation bill.
Rajanna denied the accusation. But he did keep fetuses in Styrofoam cups in the refrigerator along with food and drink.
Kansans for Life, or KFL, says it alerted the Kansas Board of Healing Arts about allegations against Rajanna in August 2003. Previously, in 2000 and 2001, he was disciplined for not properly testing his patients for their blood types and for improperly labeling medications.
When the group was preparing testimony before a legislative committee in February 2004, it was "shocked to find out that the Board had not been investigating Rajanna and had even ignored requests from law enforcement and the county district attorney to help close Rajanna down," Kansans for Life states on its website.
Kathy Ostrowski, legislative research director for the group had escorted an informant to the Board office to share data and photographs of the clinic and had chosen not to go public so the regulatory agency could investigate and take action without outside pressure â?? but it did not.
"Four months after damning whistleblower photos of the clinic had been submitted, the Board renewed his license," Kansans for Life reports.
In February 2005, the Board declared Rajanna's clinic was deficient, but argued he should be allowed to stay open to make enough money to pay for improvements, KFL stated.
On March 25, the Board revoked Rajanna's license, admitting his clinic was found to be filthy with a dead rodent in the hallway in plain view of staff.
Rajanna can legally appeal the ruling. If he does not, after two years he can petition the Board for review and reinstatement of his license.
While Rajanna's case was pending, abortion opponents won legislative approval of a bill requiring abortion clinics to obtain an annual license from the Department of Health and Environment, hire surgeons as their medical directors and report patient deaths to the state within a day. The measure also mandated that the department set standards for equipment, medical screenings, ventilation and lighting.

But Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, an abortion-rights advocate, vetoed the measure, saying medical professionals â?? not legislators â?? should set standards.
Kansans for Life hopes Rajanna will stop practicing medicine for good:
"This Board permitted Rajanna to waltz back into active physician licensee status in Kansas after he had been managing real estate properties for 20 years, having had a failed clinic and other setbacks early in his career.
"Six months after regaining active Kansas license status in 1994, Rajanna enabled a man to die by prescribing 600 narcotic and psychotropic drugs to him within a few weeks and without taking a medical history! The decedent's family received an insurance settlement. "Rajanna is a killer, 'a danger to the public' (the Board's own words). Let's hope he stays out of both abortion and 'medicine' in Kansas and other states."

Hey Pisshead, I thought you were warned about these long posts. Do we have to report you to the mods? :o
Isn't this just a re-run of your first post on this? Anyhow, I'm not so sure I'm ready to start beleiving something just cause WorldNetDaily says it's so. Seems a little far to the religious right to me.
-

i was warned? are you kidding? when...
no, it's not a rerun...it sheds a little more light on the subject...if this isn't real, it's a sick joke by worldnetdaily...and i doubt that...i think it's just one example that doesn't represent the norm...although to kill babies, and i'm talking partial birth abortions which happen up to one week before birth, those are some sick fucks who do that. i don't care how it's justified.
left and right, up and down...it has nothing to do with left or right. there are people alive who do far worse...some are just sicko psychotic weirdos who abuse their position...

Oh, and it was worldnetdaily that seemed a bit to the right to me, not neccessarily your post or the story. A quick look at their website will show that they don't really have an unbiased opinion. If I were to have read this in the Times or seen it on CNN I might have found ity more believable. Not that I trust everything they say either. I think we both agree that the media twists facts around in an attempt to make us beleive what they want us to.
