To all the smokers who don't grow.....

I realise that it's not convenient for some people to grow in their homes (live with parents, area too busy, too much to lose if you were caught, have kids etc), but please consider it if there's even the slightest possibility. It makes me cringe when I hear what some of you people pay for weed. Think how much money you'd save by growing it yourself and not handing your hard earned cash over to some dealer. Plus you could choose the strain yourself instead of getting what you're given and you'd know exactly what was in it (fertilizer wise). Have a think about it. You only need a small basic setup like mine to keep you supplied with top quality ganja.

I could grow, but decided to wait until I have my own place - My mum is cool with it, but she is not the only person who comes to our house and who has a nose! I wouldn't want my mum to get in to any trouble because I wanted to grow some weed, you know?

im going to grow this august, my mates got a little outside toilet, fit about 4-5 full size plants in there, it has a window which i will use for ventilation as it can always be open cos its at the back of the house, but i have to work out a way to stop any light from coming through it, im hoping just a nice thick curtain will work, ill be using a 400w hps aswell, nl x bb :)

Can't grow where I'm living at the moment. Yeah, it's bullshit that people have to pay up to 330 an oz and wind up getting ripped off.

i plan on moving to europe in next year or so and starting up a nice lil biz=)

How many watts is that HPS system you got there bro?

i agree with gtc21 im gonna start growing b/c i was tired of being ripped off you don't have to grow in your house you could go grow in some discreet place away from your home and the cops can't track it to you and with 30 bucks you could plant some seeds and at the end of the season all that waiting gets you alot more bud for 30 buck than what your dealer would give you

sounds very practical from a mom's point of view. i may try it when the hubby and i get a new home.

it dos seem kinda handy 2 do but when iv looked up on it theres a whole lot of shit u need 2 buy and do.

yeah dude would you be able to give some advise on growing if needed....because i really want to grow but dont know about which lights to get and whatnot.....

My setup is basically 2 cupboards which I built from scratch from batons and hardboard. The flowering chamber (see pics above) has a 250w HPS inside; the clone/mother chamber (see pics below) has a 110w fluorescent unit inside. The flowering chamber has a bathroom fan at the top and a plastic vent at the bottom. There is also a deskfan in there too to keep the light cooler and to circulate the air around the plants. That's basically it! The whole setup cost about £350 and costs about £3.50 in electricity each week. It can yield me about 3 ounces depending on the strain, not bad eh? How much would 3 ounces cost you on the street? I don't even want to think about it.

I'm with red & az.... it just seems like a lot of fuss. And well, to be honest, I'm a bit lazy when it comes to stuff like that, lol. Plus, I live in an apartment, so it would need to be a rather miniature setup (not for lack of space, but for stealth). Marijuanzai, anyone? :)

If anyone has advice on a supersimple, supercompact setup that doesn't involve building anything, I'm all ears. My patio is packed with plants (peas, 'maters, 'taters, basil, watermelon, bunches of herbs--not the smokey kind, carrots, flowers, etc.)... it would be rather nifty to have other enjoyable things growing indoors (other than orchids).

How tall are the tallest plants in your garden? If they're pretty tall like 2 to 4 feet or something you could have a few ganja plants in your garden. Just space them out and intersperse them with the other plants; don't plant them in rows. You can also prune or bend them in irregular ways to disguise their shape.

I don't have a real garden, I just grow veggies & things on my patio, in pots. I live in an apartment complex, & my patio isn't private at all, so it would definitely need to be indoors, preferably in a closet or some such for when nephews come visit (or maintenance guys, eesh).

id love 2 give it a go ill have to sort out the closet in my gaff seal it off like,its not in use anyways

I wouldn't mind,when I get my basement apartment in July, i'll be gorwing for sure, cause then there's an extra 2-3 bills in my pocket every week, so I can pay rent, and have a lot leftover...

man i would love a guide on how to do this as cheaply and discreetly as possible, it would be fantastic! *sigh* i'm really sick of paying for pot as well, and i wouldnt try to sell any...just grow enough to have pot all year round :D

I need to find space in my bedroom to grow some herb. I live with my parents though, ug. :o :(
I also need to build a cabonet for growing purposes, and I need materials and instructions on how to build one. It would be vary nice to have the herb all year round.

Anybody know the average amount of weed you get off one plant? I don't know the average size exactly, lets just say it's 2 feet tall and healthy.

It depends on the strain, genetics, growing conditions etc.
