The anti-weed people

I enjoy smoking marijuana on occasion, mainly because I love the feeling and I think getting stoned with other people is a great way to 'bond'. However, a close frined of mine has a huge problem with me taking any marijuana at all. He shows me all these reports and papers that he has found that apparantly 'prove' how harmful the stuff is. And yet, from what I've read, occasional use causes no huge health problems and even frequent use causes lesser problems then frequent cigarette smoking or alcahol drinking. I have told him this and he is still insistant that I should stop taking weed alltogether. I was wandering what you people say to get this kind of person off your back?

my freind says weed is bad for you and all the time. and he is one that took my seeds and smoke them what a dumass he is.

weed is not bad for u. it has many medicinal uses plus hundreds of other uses. some people are just against it 100 %. and if that was me id tell my friend im smokin it because i enjoy n nothing u say will change my mind no matter how good of a friend they are but thts my take on it.

I would just let him know that if he wants to buy into all the propaganda that's his choice but tell him he should really get his facts straight before he starts talking about something he knows nothing about.

Let your friend know that you enjoy smoking and it's really none of his business weather you do it or not.

Alcohol and Smoking kill you 100 times faster than weed, shit if i get cancer from smoking, which YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT, then i'll keep smoking to ease the pain. People who say weed is bad for you and bring over papers to your house saying that is bad, IS NOT A FRIEND. THEY ARE STRANGERS. No just jokin but seriously what a fruit to say that. Have him puff a little then maybe he'll come around and as for you, you shouldn't just smoke occasionally but ALL THE TIME. No not really, I use to smoke all the time, but couldn't function when it came time to do my homework, so now I know how to handle my shit.

I have found that the best way to deal with ignorant people (AKA sheep of society) is to suceed. I am a graduating Sr., graduating in a few weeks with a BA in Communication Studies, and made the Deans list last semester to boot (A shock to my mother, i assure you). I smoke pot FREQUENTLY, even more so since I became a legal medical user a month ago. I CHOOSE to smoke after my homework is done and i am free to relax. SOme people my age chose to drink alcohol. I chose to smoke pot instead. I have free will and live in a, supposedly, free country. If I chose to subject my lungs and my body to pot smoke (Much like many people enjoy the freedom to subject their lungs to ciggerette smoke) then thats MY f'ing business and no one elses. A person should judge me for who I am, not my personal habbits if my personal habbits affect only myself an no others. If your "friend" cant accept the fact that you like to smoke pot, then continue being who you are, suceed, and perhaps one day he will understand that its none of his damn business how you relax or what you do to your OWN body. I'd also point out that smoking addictive nicotine, drinking brain cell killing booze, and ingesting all sorts of cancerous, unhealthy products into our bodies is all acceptable behavior and sanctioned by our government. Perhaps he should be questioning why a harmless plant is being so oppressed by the gov when so much other "harmful" material is supported (and taxed....uh oh, someone is going to be forced to use their BRAIN!!!) rather than hasteling you over a personal choice on how you chose to relax your body and your mind.

Yeah, yeah, Ok, I've heard all this before, too. My best friend is always down on pot. Yet she and her husband get trashed almost every weekend and drive home from bars all fucked up. In fact, the last time they went out, her hubby got in a fight and broke some guy's jaw....real smart! It's ridiculous that is beer is legal for any dumb fuck out there but I can't smoke a joint.

I agree mary, I argue this with my husband all the time. How often do you hear about someone getting killed by a stoned driver--not at all unless they are stoned on some painkillers or some other pill and that still isn't happening like the deaths caused by DUI. Also, pot is a cheaper buzz than alcohol, doesn't make you puke and fight, doesn't have any calories (not counting the munchies), and is all natural. It should all be about personal choices.

You have to be clear headed to do a lot of shit, but you have to learn to control weed and a lot of people can't, I use to smoke before high school but I grew up and stopped that shit (during school) if I were to go somewhere in life. I love weed more than anything, except of course pussy, but it is a powerful drug, you rmind gets foggy and your just in a daze, I wish people could control their shit.

And Maryjane momma, your totally right also, my two bros in which i live with smoke bud but they also loved to get drunk, and they drive home from the bars all the time, Yeah its fun to booze, but I would much rather puff a bowl. You get incoherent and fuckin dumb when you booze, um which drug is more powerful, I would fuckin say alcohol, it kills so many people every year and fucks people up. So many people go home drink after a long days work, what the fuck is wrong with going home and puffin a bowl, it doesn't fuck you up nearly as much, Fuck alcohol (sometimes) and Weed is the shit

yea i smoke for the feeling and i have some health issues but i still do it. the health problems arnt because of pot but i think the pot acualy fucken helps my blood pressure and shit so smoke up

Seems to me that a person's ambition is what counts. I smoke alot of weed, and always have. It hasn't interfered with my life. The car wreck I got into did that.
I have a medical card, and it helps alot. Pot is good fer what ails ye, hehehe! :D ;)

Inhaling any smoke is not healthy for you at all. But people who use the argument that cannabis is just as harmful as cigarettes, don't usually consider that people don't smoke cannabis like they do the mass quantities of cigarettes. Cigarettes are designed to deliver the nicotine to your blood for a fast fix and to keep the user addicted. How many smokers do you know that really want to quit but can't? I know a ton. But that's how cigarette companies make their money. On the other hand, you don't usually see people chain smoking joints.

:rolleyes: You know I was reading this article in the paper and they were trying to come with points on why mj is actually bad for you, but they kept saying that if you're an occasional smoker than none of these symptoms won't really occur. And they kept mentioning if you are a heavy user (like 10 grams a day~~~no joke!) you would probably see some of the symptoms that longtime cig smokers have. So ummm... if you don't smoke 10 grms than you're OK! I have a friend who used to smoke pot in high school and now after a few years is all like: "don't smoke pot its bad for you!!" and she is trying to get her bf to stop smoking! But I don't care cuz I just throw it back in her face.

In short, we all know the truth about marijuana. Spread the word about the herb, I walk around my neighborhood smoking joints/blunts while walking my dog everyday. Not because I feel compelled to flaunt my illegal activity but to prove that you can use MJ and still lead a productive,healthy life. Sort of my way to wash away the ignorance and misinformation that many people are blinded by. Although a few people threatened to call the cops on me I simply told them its a crime to possess and by the time the cops show up the buddah will be in a better place...my system.

It's so hard when you have someone you care about how keeps nagging about something you enjoy. You know they want the best for you but you aren't ready to
give it up-and maybe you never will. My husband is so against me taking my anti anxiety meds. He wants me completely. I was never someone to do drugs-I drank and that was it. Once the anxiety started I needed to cope. You could be doing much worse so be glad it's not coke, crank, whatever. I do know that there are some bad things about the marijuana-but you can say the same about smoking a cigaretter, or drinking liquor. When and if you feel ready to give it up-you might look at this book.
In fact-I would look at it now. She has a web site for it and it's callled www.themoodcure.com-this book is amazing. People dont realize just how much food and nutrients play into our health. This book will show you what other drugs actually do to our mood receptors-they deplete them. So when we have to quit and start all over we basically are left with no endorphins-serotonin-Gaba, etc. The nice thing is that you can buy these supplements at any store that carries vitamins. Amino acids are awesome too-great for moods depression/anxiety. This is a great book and I do hope you are able to look at it. I will see what I find about Marijuana and get back to you. I use to hate that drug when I was little-but now that I think about it-God put it on this earth for a reason. Maybe he wanted us to enjoy it-who knows? My mother in law got me that book-she knows EVERYTHING about health (mental, physical, nutrition,
etc.) I would be happy to ask her anything you have questions on. She is one of the smartest women I have ever met. How could you sit at your computer all day and study? I woudl go nuts.

Ha, my friend used to be anti-weed, until we somehow convinced him to try it. Now he smokes with us every weekend and loves it.

Known research shows that an occasional puff can of marijuana will actually probably help your social life and (maybe) your grades.
So yeah, needless to say I'm interested in taking the occasional puff :thumbsup:
But yeah I don't know what they mean by occasional, or even puff really lol so yeah. Just wondering if any of you know?
