Homemade Vaporizer Construction

I see a shitload of people asking how to do this so heres one of my little black market secrets.

Homemade Glass Vaporizer Construction

Materials Needed
- Standard Indoor Lightbulb
- 20oz Soda Cap
- Two Drinking Straws
- Needlenose Pliers
- Kitchen Knife
- Bath Towel

And Here We Go.......

Step 1- Fold the bath towel several times and place glass section of lightbulb into it. Holding the bulb firmly in the towel as not to cut yourself cut off all but one centimeter of the metal section with the knife as cleanly as possible leaving a tiny ring of the metal socket on the bulb about one centimeter. The knife will slice through the soft aluminum section of the bulb with ease.

Step 2- Take the needlenose pliers and remove the inside componets of the bulb (They will slide right out) then run water into the lightbulb casing to remove any small shards of glass and the frosting on the inside of the bulb if yours is frosted white or yellow. (It's only powder and it'll wash right out).

Step 3- Making sure the bulb is completely cleaned out inside take your soda bottle cap and slide it righ on to the end of the aluminum ring I told you to leave on. Take a kitchen knife heating the tip of it over a stove and puncture two straw sized holes in it at the top and the bottom of the bottle cap.

Step 4- Take your two straws and cut one down to three quarters of its original size and then cut the second straw in half. Insert the two straw pieces into the holes you made about half way.

Step 5- Now slide the bottlecap off the lightbulb stick a fat juicy bud in there and replace cap.

Last Step- Take a lighter to the bottom of the bud through the glass and place your lips on the longer straw as it'll be the only one you inhale through.(The other short straw is just for air intake) Swirl the flame on the bottom of the bud through the glass and inhale. You can swirl the flame for up to 30 seconds before you have to give it 15 seconds to cool down. When inhaling you wont see any smoke but you'll be sucking in some serious THC.

One note about the vaporizer. Do not let the flame just sit under the bud. You must make little swirling motions with the lighter. If you don't you'll see smoke filling up the lightbulb. That is not weed smoke. That is carbon monoxide and you will fucking choke to death off that shit. Just make happy happy little swirls and suck in the colorless vapor. Now you are high as fuck. Have a nice day.

In addition to show how great this homemade contraption is the fact that just a little nug you would put into a bong and get one hit off of you can get 10 hits in this device and you get way more THC.

Just to be clear here, it's both, actually. CO is invisible. But, yeah, conditions inside the bulb will not support complete combustion, so you'll have a much higher than normal level of CO in there. Probably not enough to kill you, but it could make you ill. CO poisoning is not pleasant.

lol, well i think it depends on the bulb, my one was very thick glass, with no frosting, and i could hold the lighter under it for quite a while, without passing out :p

Well, we're talking about a relatively small volume. The important figure is the hemoglobin saturation level, which must normally exceed 70-80% for fataliaty in humans. This corresponds to inahling several liters of CO within an hour or so. No way you're going to get that much from the amount of vapor you can pull froma lightbulb. You get comparable levels from smoking normally, in fact.

lol, he just means you need to have 70-80% of it in your blood to die. since you would pass out before you died, you would stop huffin it up when you dropped it.

thus you wouldn't die.

i dont know abouit that... i mean it sounds like a sweet concept. But i bet they put a load of wierd shit in those lightbulbs, and theres no way of telling that youve got it all out by washing it out.


Anyway, smoking through a lightbulb brings back memories of a nasty experience me and a mate had with a crackhead in brixton...

No I didn't steal it from any site I have a book called The Cannabis Grow Bible by Greg Green which I got it out of. And as for the pics I searched the web for them a my digi cam is being charged up right now.

You know as a matter of fact I'm a little upset by that remark. I am not trying to steal anyones credit. Fuck the few places that do have the design did'nt think it up either who fucking knows who thought of it. So lemme ask you a question. One day many years ago I had no bowl or rolling papers to smoke with so I took a toilet paper roll punched a hole in it add put a peice of foil with holes in it into the tube. Now I thought of that idea on my own but I know someone had to think of it and do it before me. So if I never saw it anywhere else and thought of it on my own how am I stealing someone elses credit. The worst thing I could of done is thought of an idea which if legal could have already had a patent. The last time I checked they did'nt give fucking patents to bongs and bowls so how was I to know I was infringing on someone elses idea? Think about it.

And overall I was trying to help the community because they had a question I had the solution to. Isn't that what were on this forum for or at least one of the reasons?

Next time I'll fucking call greg Green and ask him if I can put an idea he did'nt come up with on a forum just so he can ask the guy he got it from was ok and the man he got it from was ok. :rolleyes:

My bulb is different. It's a soft 40 watt white one, etc etc

The problem is is that when I take off that piece of the aluminum, there is this green hard ring and in the middle there is this glass hollow piece that looks to make it airtight (the bulb). Is mine unusable?

dont' know if it's true, but I've heard you can end up with brain-damaging chemicals from the lightbulb.

It isn't true. There is lead in the solder used on the bulb base, but not inside the bulb itself. And the powder used to coat the inside of soft white bulbs is inert and easily rinsed out.

id assume you swirl a lighter under the bottom first while your mouth is on the straw.

Hit it with the lighter, as described, and let it warm up for about 30 seconds before pulling on it. It should not burn, and if you see smoke filling the bulb, you're heating it too much. If you hit it right, you should feel the familiar rush as you inhale it.

I've got everything I need but I've had to make some modifications accounting for wierd Australian lightbulbs... so mine will be 'Unique'. ;) I'll post pictures when I'm done.

Wooo! I just finished hitting my new device a couple of times and I think it worked! Few questions tho'... How do you know when you can't really get any more THC outta the weed? and Should I hold the lighter far enough away so I don't build up black shit on the lightbulb?

Hmm are you sure, cuz i get a lil bit of smoke and hit it, and it taste just fine like the bud im smoking, oh maybe that just means im beating the process and still burning the bud instead of vaporizing? ANYWAYS im ripped so who cares, heres sasha(MY HOT GIRLFRIEND) and our vapor.
