IN A HUGE WAY...depression runs in my family, all my aunts, mother, cousins (female) at one time or another have dealt w/ anxiety, or panic attacks or depression, including me. My biggest help has been bud. I've been prescribed all the "usual suspects", zoloft, xantax, prozac, you name it. But they all upset my stomach badly. Bud is the best, you'll want a mostly sativa strain, which is a more "up" high and can really help, from personal experience anyway. Not saying I'm a doctor and it's probably a good idea for your sister to see a psych. dr., too, to talk to someone. Bud has been by savior in dealing w/ these diseases, though.Quote:

Agree Lilee. Doc is best but I've dealt w/ it after quitting smoking for a time and it didn't help. If anything I slept less and the panic attacks came back. But, exercise is definitely recommended. That seemed to help some when I was off bud.
i hear ya mjgal, i'm sure my anxiety would be worst if i quit smokin and exercise does help alot
i cant say it will help anyone ,but i know it has very limited risk unlike the pills and shit the docs hand out,
practically harmless,the worst side effect is the feeling good for no reason and having a appetite or being able to sleep a few hours longer,
the only thing addicting about it ,is it makes ya feel good enough to do often and becomes a habit more than a addiction
it can be stopped without harm for the casual user
the person who smokes all day everyday has some trouble withdrawing
but i tell ya in my years of smoking it has helped my depression,i was diagnoised having Bi-Polar disorder,some chemical imbalance that cuases instant mood swings that aint easy to control or be aware of,
cannabis does help me regulate my mood to a uplifting level,without it i am a lil depressed sometimes becuase im used to lifting my mood out of the gloom with a toke or too,i can survive without it and so often as it gets so hard to afford and harder to grow without risk

yea i know docs said i have all kinds of shit like that and i know i do to. I don't smoke everyday all day lol i wish i could afford that! I like to have weed most of the time though Their are times i go without weed for a while and i find myself a bit moody. I have been through withdrawl that has almost killed me from another drug so the weed isn't that bad like i said i just get in a bit of a mood at times.
it depends personaly it has made me a better person and less depressed but sometimes when i smoke certain things will send me into a depressed downtime and being high and drepressed sucks!it depends on the person really it can help and it can hurt...becarefull if you think it is effecting her negatively then immeadiately take it away but i say go for it just be carefull with it most people like your sister tend to get depressed rather than happy
Tell her to smoke it, I know alot of people that would be alot happier, if they just chilled a burned a few. It has certainly helped me in my depression, far more than that bullshit zoloft.

But on a serious note, everyone smokes weed for diffrent reasons. She might keep smoking it to escape. sum ppl here smoke cuz they hate nature :rolleyes:. if your sister does that and then suddenly has no weed....that might not be good. You see my point?
Weed makes me happy when i'm depressed, maybe cause it's good weed, but weed isn't a depressant for me, completely the opposite.

Give it to her as soon as you can. Don't give her those "other" killer scripts. But still keep an eye on her also. Make sure that she has a support system. Someone she can come to just in case she needs to talk it out. We depressed chicks love that. The weed won't do it alone, but it will subside the symptoms and she'll feel better knowing that she has someone like you looking out for her. God Bless.

i was gunna say that it may help the depression while she smoking and high but this may lead to her feeling the need to be high all the time.....it confuses me.....when she isnt high she MAY feel worse than before....
like maui said "Weed makes me happy when i'm depressed" but it may lead to her being depressed because she has no weed

if im depressed i find weed makes it worse, i eat lots of chocolate and have a bubble bath when im depressed and that makes it better.

Why dont you help your sister someway besides smoking weed. You could do certain activities that will inspire her in the future? Take her hiking, to museums, w/e. My family did that for me when I was younger and very depressed, it realli did me some good. :) Good luck!Quote:
