3 Salvia questions

I may try Salvia with a friend pretty soon, and I have a question.

He says it can be eaten, but he doesn't quite know the specifics, and I haven't really been able to find them. I might have just looked over the facts or something, i checked a few Salvia sites and the Errowid site but found nothing.

My question is:

1.) How do you eat this? Is it like eating weed where you have to specifically cook it in a certain way...or do you just chew it?
2.) Whats the difference in the trip if you smoke and eat it?
3.) Is eating extract done a different way then eating the leaves?

i got a salvia ?..me and my friend buying like 3g of 6x, will that b enough for 2 first timers? also would it work if we torched it out of a tow hose hookah with ice in it?

you actually can eat it, providing you buy salvia leaves. So dont go mis-informing peoiple. If you buy extract then yes, you have to smoke it. If you buy leaves you can squish them up into a ball (called a "quid") and then chew it up slowly, whilst keeping the leaves and the juices in your mouth and swishing them about. This gives you less of a fast acting high, but it lasts for longer and is generally less intense.

I've never done it, eaten or smoked it, but i presume it wont taste very nice? and i'f i'm wrong someone please tell me, as i'm doing it soon and i might try chewing them?

yeah pretty much like eating dried oak leaves so dont expect it to taste like cotton candy =P

First time I ever tried salvia I ate it. I was young and stupid, and I didn't feel a thing. Smoke it!

this is my first post so here goes. I have been using Salvia for a few years and have tried the quid method a few times but the leaves were sooooo bitter and by the time 1\2 hour comes around its almost unbearingly bitter. But heres the method.....
salvinorin "the active chemical in Salvia" isnt active in your gut but is through your mouth so therefore its not swallowed but held in mouth like chewing tobacco
first you need a quarter ounce divided into 2 piles as each of these will be held in mouth for 15 minutes
start by cleansing your mouth with some mouthwash this is very important
take first quid and put in your mouth and start chewing and swishing around in your mouth and remember not to spit it out
keep it up for 15 minutes without losing the bitter fliud
spit out and do the next one the same way
