THE "MING DYNASTY" SMOKING SYSTEM

In the early 1970â??s, in Brooklyn, there was a burgeoning pot scene that was very active for about a decade. Some of the dealers I met had a system of saving roaches and re-rolling the contents into super joints. The first step was to save the roaches from your best stuff in an airtight jar, preferably keeping the varieties segregated (Thai, â??Black Wackâ?�Gungi, etc.) These roaches would be labeled â??Ming Iâ?�. Eventually, theyâ??d have enough to roll a bunch of super joints. Now, hereâ??s the interesting part: The 2nd generation roaches would be put in different jars, and labeled â??Ming IIâ?�. Next, the 3rd generation would beâ??Ming IIIâ?�, etc. This practice was not widespread, to my knowledge, but I thought I'd pass it on. I think two hits off of a Thai-based "Ming III" joint would just about put me in another galaxy at this point in my life LOL!

and saving roaches is great, because the roach is the most highly potent part... either that or saving roaches, smoking them in your bung when low on weed.

i'm gonna try that and when i get 2 generation 10 i'll roll a fat blunt and try 2 smoke it all.

yea man, whenever a blunt is finshed and someones about to chuck it in the woods, i always ask if i can have it. they dont give a shit, so i get so many huge roached. my jar is filling quickly

i wonder if they call it a roach becasue only people who scavange for everything smokeable (i'm one of them so this is no insult in any way lol) are the only ones that will take them.....

i like roaches(except when your smoking one and it burns your fingers). i save em as well. the party i was at last week, this dude saved the roaches from the blunts we smoked. i hope he still has them.

i always empty them out into my bong bowl, and its so sticky. it hits liek normal bud, but after your first few hits you cant even remember how the bong works.

But anyways, yeah, I've heard of this, but never heard it called the Ming Dynasty smoking system before. Clever.

I've always heard calling it "Grandpa Joints" and "Great Grandpa Joints".

Sounds good, except smoking joints of 50-60 1/8's is an expensive habit.

well in the UK we use a rolled up bit of card as a roach, not a bit of weed. So no such excitment for me.

we just call them 1st generation, 2nd generation and so on.....

dude, i can never keep that up, but i did once get 2 grams of roach weed, and i smoked it, and it hit me really fast. It was like, 2 hits, i was high
