Right now i'm watching a documentary on TV called 'Extraordinary People: The Girl Without A Face'.. It's about this little girl (Juliana, two years old) that was born without a face.. Well, she has a face but you can't exactly call it a face.. Man, it's really sad :(

That truly is sad. But on the other hand, that little girl doesn't know what it's like to have a real face, so it's not as bad for her until she gets older and realizes. Thousands of Vietnamese since the 1970's have been born with birth defects including being faceless. It's a product of Agent Orange, a chemical used to trip the foliage away from trees. Truly sad.
Wow i just watched the third video....just wow.....im high and that like scares me....its so sad at the same time. I couldnt imagine being the parent in that situation.

yeah.. the parents are awesome.. im watching the documentary on tv now.. my mums crying over it.. its so depressing, but its inspiring too because shes still really happy, you know?

yeah, public school definately isnt a good choice for her. does anyone else have the same fear that i do, which is if\when you have kids, they will be horribly disfigured or retarded or something??? that makes me not want to be a parent.
I was watchin that documentary as well... not very nice would be an understatement. Shes gonna be having surgery for most of her life...

are you trying to say you would'nt love your child as much because there disfigured or MENTALLY CHALLENGED (dont think your child would like it if you called him/her retarded). and your child wont suffer, if your child was born mentally challenged or disfigured they would'nt know any better. if a baby was born deaf the baby would'nt be sad that its deaf because the baby dos'nt know any better.Quote:

yeah she'll proberly be home shcooled. somone at my shcool said she watched the doc, and that t said her face would reform to a normal face when she gets older. i hope so. :(
nah im just saying that i would hold myself personally responsible, like it was my fault that a kid would turn out that way. but i agree, if i had a disfigured child, id still love him/her. how would you raise a kid like that???? do you shelter her her whole life and then make her go through it herself??? or do you put her in a public school, where children (they dont know any better....the young ones i mean) make fun of her all the time? im not even sure if this is making sense to anyone lol.Quote:

Hey we've all seen the wonders of modern technology in medicine today..
She will be a project for the maxillofacial surgeons at first, but if they can create a good faceplate, the rest is cosmetic and we have all seen what they can do today...
It is hideous to look at but I have hope for her...
