Pruning and Another Question

I never planned on pruning during my first grow. I had not read much up on it. However, as my plants are growing low and bushy, there are a lot of "hidden" leaves and branches that aren't getting light and are taking up energy that could be spent on other parts of the plant.

These 2 are about a month old. Is it ok to trim the very small under branches, or am I better off leaving everything alone? This is my first grow and I can never keep my hands off things, so I thought it best to ask. I have read Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Grower's Handbook and can't find my answer there. What do you guys think about these plants? I have been hoping that they would magically start growing upwards, but that hasn't happened. I am eager to see what they'll do when I Flower them.

My other question is related to my sad third plant. She has not grown as lush as the other 2, all from the same batch of THC Bomb seeds that I ordered. She never grew as quickly as the other 2 from the very beginning. I fed her the same mixed nutrients when I began with nutrients between week 2 and 3, however at about half strength for the small plant as the others. Last week, I noticed a couple leaves were turning brown, I thought it was either nutrient burn or I had spilled some nutrient/water on the leaves during watering. So I switched to water only. The leaves have continued to have brown spotting that grows, and they are drooping. I tried clipping the brown tips but that hasn't done anything. I'm thinking of tossing her but I don't want to do that either before asking for any suggestions. Pic below.

I prune that low growth that won't amount to much due to not getting much light. The smaller internal ones go, as well as the ones at the base to "open up" that area for watering and general "seeing"....but that's just me, maybe some of the more experienced peeps will chime in.

Hey thanks for adding your experience, OMB. Does this show any negative effects on the plants when you do it? I will grab some razor blades tomorrow.

That low stuff clones the best, if still in veg. The ladies will blast off.

I tend to spend my time and money on the best ones, some just don't cut it

Hmmmm I would like to wait another week before cloning, especially if I kill the smallest of the three (that is not looking healthy) and only grow two. I was planning on staying in these current pots but maybe I will transfer one more time with only two plants to fill my upper cabinet more with leaves and buds. Thanks for the tip tlranger

Never had any trouble with trimming, they didn't seem to mind even when I got pretty aggressive with it. I don't want my girls wasting energy on the "Low fruit".
...and I concur about the bottom cuttings, they root much faster than the tops. Like 3x's faster in my experience.

I always had much success with trimming the lower branches. I top early to get many tops, than lollipop just before flowering. You end up with a mass of colas which in the end, end up much easier to trim and you get better smoke. I have a video on my youtube channel that shows you what I do when I top and lollipop.
