so I have a 4 strand grow indoors under a 1000 watt HPS I have two Barneys farm pineapple chunk plants I have two super Lemon Haze, a headband, a Carmelo, and a karela crush... feeding the full line up of go products from general hydroponics grown in roots green fields soil they are all clones that I have grown from my own plants, well spent about 4 to 6 weeks under 24 hours of MH lighting they have been flowering in a 6 by 6 room for 20days ill be posting pics next:-)

hey man nice set up you have :) what is the temps in your room when your light are on and what watt bulb are you using :) i have allot smaller room then you and i use 400watt hps with out cool tub on :) and my temps are aat 78-80 when the light are on and when its of it drops to 72-75 :)
Well im actually going through some issues wit that right now summer kills my grow room !! Its a basement and I partitioned off half and split it in half I have two 6x10 rooms each with 2 1k hid I run mh in veg and hps in bloom I vent my lights outside they constantly pull the air from the room across the lights and out into my furnace intake... and I use neg press to pull outdoor air into the rooms (to prevent odor leaks) but in summer the just pull from the other side of basement and I end with a room thats a consisent 85 granted I run co2 but it slows growth and risks hermies:-( but theres not much I can do and I had to get rig of my hydro cuz water temps were up to 88!!! I even moved a 55g rez to the coldest basement corner tried diff intakes u name it theres just nothing I can do I wanna run about 75 lights off temps hit around 70 to 75 but now fall is coming and once fall starts I run duct from my chimney in and can set my temps anywhere I want and its perfect no issues... getting close!! And I can set my hydro up again:-) all my girls are aslo suffering from nute lock out right now from my well water that is so bad its eventually screwing my ph but thats not nearly as bad I have crazy mg deficiencies and I didnt know what was going on turns out my water was so bad it was building up salts and bad nutes to the point of lock out and im scared to use bottled water cuz of ph issues ive heard of and lack of trace elements:-( any ideas anyone!??

so I like my budz on clear cloudy trich side rather than mostly amber and as you guys can see all of my current flowering ladies are mostly in their 6th week of flower and I see a good bit of amber on 3 of them I am newer to harvesting as in the past I never made it this far but now I have a beautiful indoor set up and I wanna master my skills! The outdoor plant I harvested was the same I saw amber on it from wk 4!!!! All the way through and was terrified of chopping early and I think it went too long or not long enough but it actually quit flowering and hair production stopped completely, and it was almost all amber but the dried buds are loose and the size of pees its pathetic!!? I dont get it! I need to figure out more things I can look for to MAKE SURE im harvesting in the strains harvest window!! My super lemon and skunk are both supposed to be 11wk flower times and the both look DONE and they are only at six!? Covered in amber nice n stinky it dont make sense!? Also my pineapple chunk is a 55-60day (people on here say its a lie from the seed comp and the really take 100 plus days my outside ones are about 9wks and dont have a single brown hair its all new growth!? But its covered in amber!!!!!?? Ive been told by the time u see mostly brown hairs is when u should start seeing amber trichs, also when the sacs swell and darken? I dont know what to listen to!? Could a plant be done before it has any hairs turn brown!? Isnt new white hairs a sign of still being in growth and not ready!? Also I havent seen any yellow leaves do the leaves always start to turn yellow when nearing the end of flower or is that only indoor, or outdoor or both? Im desperate for some helpive been ready the same thing for months "if u have amber trichs ur ready" but thats no help!!!! Especially since im seeing them at 4 or 5 wks!!!!!!!!!?!?!??!!?!?
Pot is like a fruit it goes from flowering to ripe, some people like their buds green others fully ripe. A trick you can try is when you think they are ready snip a piece of the bud off and quick dry it to see what it looks like.
Yes im well aware of this as its a tried and tru method to see ur quality but that has nothing to do with really telling u if ur in the harvest window! AS NOONE wants to pick right before the last growth spirt lqnd miss out on an extra 50 percent increase In bud size!!!
Some experienced growers chiming in would really help here!! No offense but im seriously considering switching forums as responce rate here is utterly pathetic!! Maybe its me but considering everyone who posts has to beg for respones just to get a half ass responce thats so skimpy u can tell the person never even read the original rpost to know the question they arent answering!!! I mean this is supposed to be where we come to help one another!!! WTF!!!?!??
i know the feeling man :/ im new to grow and try to learn allot but ppl dont respones and if the do its almost all some thats new to and just trying to help but dont know more then our self , im feeling the size are just for a few old guys that are riding to their buddy's in their friend list and thats it then all the noobs and new growers and stand and try and respones to their own trets
Switch forums. Try IC mag, it has the most information. But you still have to read it. Folks don't generally read through all the grow logs looking for the odd question about grow problems here or there. If it is posted in the correct sub forum with it's own thread and title it is more likely to get answered.
It seems accurate that this site is visited more from new growers and non-members lately. Not a lot of people from the past with experience with growing and posting on the internet. I still visit here but most of the interesting reading I do is on a different forum. Lots of cash croppers and large scale medical marijuana providers with great photos and grow logs. But not here.
To try and answer the question, why do your plants look the way they do? When to harvest?
I have not experienced premature amber trichomes. High temps in the grow room could be at least partly to blame. The outdoor plants may also have nutrient 'challenges'.
It's not always easy to determine peak harvest time. Many strains keep on putting out new pistils forever, under certain conditions. Others will never show amber trichomes. It isn't always like it is 'in the book'. The knowledge you need will come from experience. No short cuts there.
