Finishes in 6 weeks, from seed? Somebody's pullin' your leg. :jointsmile:Quote:

(Hey Cannabis Seed... you reading this? Can you help this man out? I think he deserves some expert advice)
There are some autos that claim to finish in as fast as 6 weeks - don't think I've seen a 5-weeker.
If they finish in 6, they'll usually be dwarf-sized with smallish to mid-range yields - you certainly can't expect a branch-breaker in those timeframes.
I think you'd be happier with an 8-10 week finishing Auto - and you can certainly find dwarf-sized strains in that timeframe.
Northern Lights is on the smallish size & has a fast finish - but that's the finish & doesn't include the veg stage which will vary by person.
That being said, some people will use seeds that stretch during the finish & put them straight into the flowering stage to reduce the time - someone else would have to say, but I don't think that's such a good idea with Northern Lights - I don't think it has the stretch.
Lots of ways to go about it, but I don't think 5 weeks total from seed is going to happen.
You can find all our Autoflowering Seeds by clicking this link.
That's our international site. If you're in the UK, I can give you a similar link with a wider selection.
Hope our dude catches your post. He seems to have a deadline for a harvest. As soon as I get things situated on the home front, I'm thinking of going this way too. Smaller, faster plants & apply the old sea of green method, all in the attic to foil the local thieves (yeah, that's the only real grow problem I've really had in over 30yrs).
Thanks again C.S. you always come through! You're my 'go to' girl!
you can try these.
train wreck
purple wreck
blueberry
GSC
a few OG strains
I have found these to grow & flower fast, but honestly a lot has to do with your setup and how you intend to achieve this. if you search the web dood there are tons of fast flowering strains

That's a nice one - how much cured yield did you get?Quote:

Growdemon, you can't mean 5.5 wks from germ to harvest? I've always kept my girls in veg for 8 wks before going to 12/12 with the light. I was taught putting them in flower younger than this stressed them & would give you a higher rate of males & hermies. I really haven't questioned that, just took it as fact & went with it. Hey, having a horticulture degree & working in commercial green houses & florist shops doesn't teach you shit about growing the herb. I got most of my 'education' from High Times mag & some books I ordered through them, plus growing. Haven't done much reading since the 80's. Sometimes I wonder just how much of what I've read was bull. The 8 wk thing seemed to work too well for me. I rarely have males, even with bag seed & often have to tell other people not to kill their males cause I need pollen.
Love the blueberry. Haven't grown it yet though, so I think I'll give it a try. Looks like it's time for this old head to modernise. :-D
I've been thinking about this thread & wanting to grow a couple of small plants here in the camper in the closets. I always supplement my lighting by side lighting with fluorescents placed vertically around the plants. I've been considering using cfl's & LED for the over heads, well actually, that's what I WILL use so I dont raise temps as much. The only thing I haven't used before in this type of small set up is the LED's (I've only used them for house plants so far). I've done this type of closet set up before with decent results, but a bigger closet. So this time, I'll be growing something smaller than northern lights/skunk hybrids. I love smoking blueberry nugs, but haven't grown it yet. I understand its a small plant with less stretch in flowering. So what do you guys think? Anything new out there that would be smaller/faster than the blueberry? So tell me a little about its growth habits, plant size, leaf size. Does it do well kept small in a 1gal nursery pot & pruned? Or is there something new that would better suite my needs? I've been growing for 40+ years & haven't changed the varieties I grow for probably 25. Ehhhh....time for this old hippie to bring her ass up into the 21st century. Also been thinking about vegging for only 2 wks before going 12/12 and throwing in some ethylene gas to keep it female (fem seeds of coarse). I would do this old school by tenting with a clear plastic bag & putting a bowl of ripening fruit (bananas or peaches) in the tent too. Budget on a shoestring, disability check & all that shit. So what do ya think? Blueberry?Quote:

Yeah. Thats what I had in mind. One for veg, the other 12/12. Do you think blueberry is a good choice for what I want to do? Any sugestions on variety?
Variety needs to match grower, and environment, so I hate to say. My exp says grow some different kinds and one will jump out and grab you, in performing, potency, looks, smell, hell it's like fallin the love. Find one that works for you not them. Remember experimenting was fun
Mazar-i-Sharif is an afghanica type. Short, fat single cola. Rugged climate ok. Good hashy smell / flavor. It's a nice tight little strain. Pretty quick finisher. I like it.
You're so right. I've had times when my fav to grow was not necessarily my fav to smoke. Checking out seed banks last nite & a pineapple one sounds really good to me too, a little tall, but no info to say how it does with pruning. I've had varities that don't take well to that at all, & now can't remember which ones they were! Most of the new ones that I like the sound of seem to be the taller ones. But Ill take your advice (its always good) & try a mix till I find what suits my closet the best. If they're too tall & don't like pruning, guess I can adapt new space. Peace
Sh. I love Afghani's. Single cola? So probably not to prune at all. There's an issue Ive had growing Afghanis indoors. Leaf curl. Had no effect on the buds or quality. Not much curl, just barely enough to catch my attention. I was thinking maybe they didn't like being as close to the lights as my northern lights & skunks? Any thoughts on this?
That's what I hear too, lights too close for some strains and the leaves curl and dry out. I grow a lot of afghani originated strains, bubblegum being one. This is an outdoor photo of an indoor bubblegum girl.

Ummmm. Looks good enough to eat! One more thing I noticed about the afghani strain I had. I pulled them back from the light a little, occasionally spray misted & they uncurled, so it would seem they like a little more humidity than some varieties. I've had many people tell me they end up with a lot of condensation in their grow rooms. I've never had that. Most likely because I'm a stickler for air flow. (Something I learned from commercial greenhouses. We lost power one night after everyone left. With no fans the place exploded with various fungus diseases because of condensation. We lost A LOT). Because I have lower humidity, that means I can, & do, foliar feed. The only application of chemical plant food I use because I've found that some organics can encourage the growth of plant pathogens in an enclosed environment.
Ahhh. Dont mean to preach to the choir, but thinking some of these tid bits my help out a youngster.
Anyway, think I might add bubblegum to my closet mix. I do love the afghani. Its good at just kickin' my butt!
my present stash is bubblegum and bubblegum x blueberry. They are favorites.
Bubblegum/blueberry. So tell a little about this one. Size, flowering time, does it take well to pruning? Remember, CAMPER closet, guestimation 7-8' X 3', 6' high. Yeah, small. (I've never gone so sm., seems almost imposible to me, but it's worth a try). Also keep in mind lighting will be fluorescents & LED's. That sm space would be quick to over heat, can't really exhust much to the outdoors because of fan noise & odor due to campers close proximity to nosey neighbors/road. Using several carbon fan forced air filters with ozone emitters in closet & one in the hallway. Maybe 3 plants in 1gal nursery pots, so naturally sm would be a key factor here. (Remember the phototron from the 80's, parabolic's, etc.? But soil, not hydro. This will be a similar set-up). Appreciate your feedback.
Correct me if wrong, but your in camper in garage, you have camper closet for one. Most not be much room for playing around. What about a second grow box in the garage, may be for budding, thinking the size of a chest freezer.
phototron worked just so small. Parabolics make hot spots.
Camper's not in garage yet. County posted my house as unsafe because of roof, so they made me move out, now they say I can't live in the camper either, so I be hidding it in garage with it padlocked. But I'll have to buck the county & live in it anyway & just make it look like I don't. I have 10 more days to get this done or they will fine me. Once I make them think I've left I'll start my closet. Its much bigger than a phototron. I was amazed it has more closet space than the house. I've told county I'll be staying with neighbor, but will have to come down once a day to tend 2 cats & my dog. They know I'll have electric in it & they're ok with that. Its just that the sneaking & lieing kinda make me paranoid. So planning on waiting till around xmas to actually fire up the closet. Just working on plans. Hate last minute decisions. Familiar with parabolic hot spots, usually pretty good at finding ways to work around that. Set up lights & find those spots before plants go in. The hardest part will be physical labor. My disability is from an accident, lot of spinal damage & muscle spasms that literally knock me off my feet, & server arthritis, use cane. Nothing life threatening, except 3 pk a day cigs. That will probably be my un-doing, especially since both parents had lung cancer.
Med mj law here in Md is a joke. Have you heard/read about it? You have to do it through a teaching hospital while they 'study' you. Closest one to me is an hour away. Not even gonna go there. This is BS. We need REAL mmj. Not this game. Hummmmm.
All the best to you my friend. PEACE.
Catbuds: why did you stick that in my head, catbud what is it? A dance only if it's slow and close!!
You and your project, you seem very educated about it, but totally know the $ limitations. Heart dis. myself.
So I thought I might throw some ideas, the intelligent members can the correct, and you do what you want. Pretty good deal.
First I think we should work on your grow box, the one that you can use for seedlings then clones.
Damn your making this tough, so first the roof, no first the cigs.
Ok first maybe start your own thread deal
Slow & close the only way. That way we won't fall dowm! LOL!
The house/roof. Do what I can with what I have to work with. 15yrs on a disability check means no house maintenance. Cigs? Well that's my demon. Tried quitting to no avail. 3mos once, 4mos the second time. Couldnt buck the craving & withdrawals. Guess I smoked too much too long. Have 2 long list of test to have at hospital. Been putting it off till I get co off my back. My doc seems to think I have a lot of nasty health issues. When I get this crap settled, I hoping to address all the health issues. Just found out high blood pressure & diabetes, some heart issues. I have 3 medical issues that make me eligible for mmj, but I'd rather get it off the street & grow than jump through hoops. Read Md.'s mmj law & you'll laugh (or cry).
PEACE.
Yeah, don't want to get in trouble going off topic. I like the grow box idea. Tossing around a few ideas on how & where. Do one grow start to finish in closet first I think. Really trying to find smallest strain out there, not auto-flower, but def fem seeds. (I'm pushing for us to get pm's on forum, keep catching myself nearly off topic).
PEACE.
northern lights is one of the most popular indica marijuana strains. it is a satisfying yielder that can finish in over six weeks but if you are looking for a kind of strain that finishes in 6 weeks from sprouting to flowering, grow some autos
Try Sea of seeds, or Oringinal Sensibiall seeds. Sea of seeds, tells you on just about every strain how tall they grow. I just grow mine to 16" to 24" before turning back the clock to 12 12. I only have 48" Hight. Try a white widow X big bud, I think you will like it. Good luck, and happy growing.
Ive been using the site "Mary Jane Strains Bud",Supposedly the largest collection of strains on the web.
I've grown something called Blue Queen Auto this year that I ordered from strong-seeds.com and I must say I am satisfied with the result. 5 plants filled one jar, that's not much, but for an autoflowering strain it is quite the result.
Find yourself some nice feminized auto-flowering strain. I can't mention any seedbank here cos it's not allowed.Quote:

The largest collection of strains? That must be a super exclusive site. I see no listing on google, bing, etc.Quote:

"SUPPOSEDLY the largest collection of strains on the web."Their claim ,not mine.Since I posted that Ive ran across 2 more sites claiming the same thing...go figure.
