My husband just had a 2nd seizure in 10 days.........

I'm about to loss it, I just want to scream, but I can't b/c everyone in my house it asleep. As some of you know my husband is diabetic and low blood sugar causes seizures. It's not pretty to say the least. It kills me to see him like that, and there not a damn thing I can do about it. I cry, what else do I have? I know why it's happening b/c my husband smokes just like me but b/c I'm trying to get a job we haven't been smoking. Well, he comes home and has a beer instead, and this is what happens. DAMN IT! I wish they would make it legal. He can drink beer and have a seizure, but he if smoke pot he doesn't have them, at least not do to the drug, but alcohol has sugar in it and fucks with his system, go figure. :rolleyes:

I'm so frickin tired but there is no way I could go back to sleep. I didn't go to bed until 3am and my husband woke me up having the seizure at 5:15am. :(
He is back to sleep and that is OK with me, he needs his rest, I just know I'm too worried about him to join him, so here I am. Maybe the boards can keep me going. Go figure I've been trying to give up coffee too!!! I think I might have to make a bee line too the store and get me some Foldgers.

I realize there is nothing anyone can do for me, or him for that matter. I can only keep praying that the stem-cell reasearch they are doing will cure him some day. Until, this is our furture. :(

Thanks for letting me vent, talk, whatever you want to call it. Mostly just cry......It's just hard, and I'm having a tuff time dealing with it this morning. My husband is of course greatfull, but I hate to let him know what it really does to me, b/c he can't help it. It's just not his fault, it's not anyones fault. It's genetics. I know. I'm going to stop rambeling now, b/c I'm only making it worse for myself by writing about it. I think I'll just read some threads and maybe that will help. Again, thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

Well maam,we hear your pain and suffering..I will pray for you and your husband,I know all about siezures..and like ya say..they ain't pretty and they're pretty scarey too. The son of a close friend,is an epilectic,and he comes to stay with with my gal and I,once a month,and we have to constantly be on guard..he had a gran mal siezure just last month,and I had to have em carried out on a stretcher. I'm rootin for y'all..and I'll keep ya in my prayers.:)

Smokin2 that must be just about the saddest thing, to see what's happening and have so little control. I can't help you in any way other than to say I'm thinking about you and wishing you well. Try to stay positive and vent all ya want (everyone else does :) ).

Yeah it figures...beer is legal and weed aint.. I wrote a thread about it one time but nobody seems to care...

I bought the Urinator from Cleartest.com so I can do urine substitution on these stupid piss tests....

Ive done it before and it works...a little testing and preparation BUT IT WORKS

This way you both can keep smokin and still pass urine tests....


Another thing, next time we have a presidential election, lets not elect right wing morons who want to moralize all of us for oour own good.... :D

hey smokin2. i don't want to drown you with personal problems so i will say this...watch you're doing is beyond the "marital call of duty" and i commend you for it. makes you really think of those words, "for better or worse". keep doing watch your doing realize that you also need some time for YOU!!! if you want to vent some more and no ones around e-mail me @ [email protected]. i will be more than happy to cheer you along in you and your husband's fight.

I have seizures....you don't know you've had one...you just see people looking at you weird or you find yourself on the floor...it is more scary for the person seeing it...

Thank you all. I would have responded sooner but when my husband arouse he soon found out he couldn't move very well. I had to take him to the E.R. for X-Rays. The seizure caused a muscel sprain in his back and he's having trouble walking. But at least it's not long term damage. I called my chiropractor to see if he could help him and he said bring him, no problem, so as I'm driving my husband there, what do I get???? A frickin speeding ticket. DAMN when is this day gonna end? SHIT, I have to go to work now, so I'm afaird to ask what next, b/c I don't want to know. I'm doing alright, and my husband is feeling better. He is resting now before I have to work. I appericate all your support.

Pureevil I wish there was someone that could help with diabeties but I don't think a natural healer can help. My husband is a Type 1 diabetic, it's gentic. There is a Type 2 diabetics and most of them can control the problem, but not type 1. They are dependent on insulin b/c their pancress failed and will never work, they have no inslet cells to work with, their bodies just don't produce it, that is all there is too it. The seizures are caused from low blood sugar. When his blood sugar drops below a certian number his body goes into shock to try and save his organs, thus causing a seizure. In not so many words. Canada has been doing stem-cell reasearch and have successfully found a way to replace inselt cells, if only the USA would get on the ball. I got go, work is calling, thanks all.

i am curious as to why he is not adjusting his insulin if he is going to drink,like most do for fast food and carbs..just a thought there..

Icky he usual does adjust his insulin, but my husband has an insulin pump and it gives him insulin periodicly all the time. He was sleeping at 5am, when he had the reaction, so he was unaware his blood sugar was low. Usually we catch it before anything happens, but sometimes, it just doesn't work. Honestly, he moved his pump site from his stomach to his legs. He hasn't used his legs as a site in long time and he thinks that maybe the insulin is reacting differently there, so he is going to talk with his doctor about it. He hasn't been drinking excessively, only a couple here and there. Either way, it happened, and thank God it's over now. It's just hard for me to deal with b/c I love him so much and I hate to see him like that. I know he feels bad that I have to deal with this sometimes, and I try my best not to let him know how bad it effects me b/c it hurts him too so that is why I turned to the boards, I just needed to vent.

the chiropractor worries me when I had my grand Mal I broke bones in my back... Please be careful he really needs an MRI...best of luck...I feel for you
